Starship Registration Irregularities

Ok, since I've been going through the 3XF's starships I've noticed that the different fleets are using different registry prefixes for ships of the same class, for example:

NC-X1-260800 - Kyoto-class Carrier
NK-X5-02 - Kyoto-class Carrier

ND-X3-01 - Arashi-class Escort
NE-X5-25 - Arashi-class Escort

NS-X5-04 - Nozomi-class Scout
NG-X5-25 - Nozomi-class Scout

Does a definitive list of which designations belong to which ship class exist? If not can we please get one?

And on an exteded note, for simplicity's sake shouldn't this letter match up with the letter used in the class designation?
ie: The Takumi-class is a Ke-C8-1a though gets the NJ registry designation.

That's wrong. It's the registry for an Iori-class (or Zodiac) Star Fortress, not what should be on a carrier.

NS is used for scouts. NG is for gunships like the Sakura and Plumeria.

Arashi Escorts have always used ND.

NJ is for cruisers.


NB - Neko Battleship
NC - Neko Carrier
ND - Neko Escort (Originally Destroyer)
NE - Neko Escort (Used only for very small ships like Ketsueki)
NF - Neko Flagship
NJ - Neko Cruiser (Junyokan - Japanese for cruiser)
NK - Neko Star Fortress
NL - Logistics Ship (Cargo ships, etc)
NS - Neko Scout
 
I will make Toshiro aware of this.
 
David, when you're re-doing the 3rd XF, you may want to phase out some of the older ship classes:

* Arashi
* Yuumi
* Ender
* possibly Chiharu
* possibly Yui 4s

Some exceptions can be made with the local planetary defense forcs.
 
Maybe the Yui-4s could be converted into Yushis? More ships purchasable for civilians?

...I didn't think the Chiharu was going to be phased off anytime soon, though.
 
Older ships will be phased out gradually as the 3rd starts getting its Iori into production mode and does some deals with the other fleets; I want the recovery to be more of a paced thing than a "lol, I got pwned but now I have everything that's the best".

The Yui 4gs may just get refitted to 5 spec, it doesn't seem like it would be a difficult thing to do, though both other options interest me too.


On the first note though, what are the current guidelines for ship production?
 
The Yui 4 and 5 have different hull shapes, so it'd be like converting a Sakura to a Plumeria and we all know how that thread went.
 
... Oh.

I thought otherwise because the Yui 2-5 wiki page is the same and only has the one shape, plus the web pages for the 4 and 5 are 90% copypasta with the same dimensions so I assumed they were just system improvements.

In that case I guess I won't refit them, then :)
