Approved Character Suzuki Akira

The character's fine, and I see no issues with the ship.

But PvP? What's the actual plot this is going to be in? Who are you fighting against?

I'd like Wes to come in and talk about this more. I apologize, Demi, but I don't feel comfortable setting a precedent like this. You've got no plots, no other ships to PvP against and seemingly no real plan. It feels highly premature to approve a GMPC, if Akira can be called that (I'm honestly not sure), when no plot for that PC exists.

A precedent? How is this any different than the characters for the 11th Squadron or YSS Adventure?

He will be writing story posts on his own, mostly.

For that matter, not unlike the YSS Aeon when I first created it. However it was not a PVP ship, she was an Exploration ship, with each mission posting dealing with planets that I created and submitted. Until I converted her to a plot ship.

My only question about the "vengence" she's listed as a 1XF ship, but with what squadron. Gunships travel in squadron's not singular.

Also should remove the Sprites reference on the page since they are illegal now.

Seem to have stepped on one doozy of a landmine with this it seems. Did someone remove the sprite reference? I can't see it anywhere on the page. Or I am going blind again.

Actually my bad, when I saw the sprite reference I was looking at the YSS Adventure.

The Vengeance could go into the 6th squadron and replace the Freedom. It was intended to place one of the destroyed gunships in the 1XF after all. I just didn't include that on the page as I did not know which one yet. Looking at the Eucharis, I always thought the squadron was more of an organizational device then them always deployed together as a pack.

That would be Wes' call, he controls the 1XF. Or he may create a new squadron for you.

It should be pointed out that both Toushi and 11th Squadron are GMed though. Neither of those justifies this circumstance, though I'm not against the approval here.

The 11th Squadron and the YSS Adventure both were run by raz. The 11th Squadron never was designed to be PvP; it was for squadron-based play. The Adventure ... did it even make it off the ground?

The Aeon become a plotship, but even before it was one, there was a plan for it.

Point is: There ought to be an actual plot plan. We've barely experimented with PvP up to now, and I don't feel comfortable approving a GMPC for PvP without there being a plan behind it.

If this is going to be a big SP thread with a single author, just say so and we'll leave it at that. But having a plot that essentially relies on other plots using it is not a plan.

My plan is to do largely just stories of what ever missions plots don't take and what not. Though working along other plots now and then would be nice. Another distant plan is to develop into a plot of my own, but I largely want to draw others to this site for it. And I do not foresee that happening any time soon since I am not entrenched in other similar sites.

But you've got no one to PvP against. Is that correct? You essentially would be doing missions by yourself. That's what I want to know.

Yes, that is the general idea. Whatever the others don't pick up.

If there are not any technical issues the the character itself, I motion for the character to be approved.

So you'll be running a plot ship that won't be collecting players, but will instead be a solo plot without any PvP elements, instead taking on missions other plots don't take. Does that sound right?

If so, what other plots do you mean? I know, "I don't know what other plots might not want," but that's part of my point — are you going to talk to GMs and in essence take their unused plot ideas or something?

That's a list I wasn't aware of.

Alright. I'm going to break a little new ground here in order to get this going, so we can see how it works.

This GM-level PC is approved for IC usage, with exceptions. The character's approval shall last three months, during which the concept of a single-PC plotship will be tested. If the player, at the end of three months, has no established, consistent PvP opponent, or has not started taking players, the character's approval shall expire and require re-approval.

If an established, consistent PvP opponent is found during this time, or the plot is converted to take players, the exception will be rescinded.
