My RL load-out:
MP-5 with two 30 round mags clipped side-by-side.
Two more 30 round mags on a thigh carrier, left thigh. A flash-bang is on that carrier as well.
Glock 21C (14 rounds .45 ACP) and a spare mag (13 rounds) on right thigh. Glock compact (11 rounds .45 ACP) on left mid-chest. One spare Glock mag lower right chest (13 rounds).
Total: 120 9mm, 51 .45 ACP, one flash-bang.
Since some team members carry other sidearms, you can inflate the pistol ammo about 10% in some cases.
From experience, that's enough ammo for about 90-120 seconds of a hot firefight.
On both my combat deployments (as dismounted infantry) I carried 10-12 30 round mags for my M-16. Of course, vehicle support might have changed my choices.
