RP Concluded The Phoenix Has Been Extinguished

Azura felt her temper spike to ungodly levels and it took every ounce of control and patience not to lash out at the man.It was already bad enough she had just lost her husband, she now had to deal with so much crap in the fallout of his death. She was smart, beautiful and strategic course that was how Tetsuya created her...but she wasn't nieve either. She excused herself for a moment finding an area empty of people as she stood against the wall supporting her back and slowly slid down hugging her knees as the grief she had been holding at bay wracked her body with a force that was dizzying. She let out a silent scream as the pain and anguish she felt filled her soul to the point of almost breaking her.She may have been Tetsuya's wife but at the end of the day she didn't have friends or anyone among the Eitans she could call family or friend least in her mind she didn't. She just cried and cried feeling her heart shatter all over again. It was bad the first time she broke when he abandoned her out of nowhere but but this time her breaking would nearly drive her to the point of insanity.

"Tetsuya you idiot...what were you thinking....why.....just why...." she said softly to her vesper but even that remained quiet for the time being.

Vaelaris

There was no goodbyes. Vaelaris felt a slight twinge of unease as he found himself surrounded by the men of the Iron Company. Their presence, stoic and imposing, seemed to close in around him, a silent reminder of their strength and loyalty to the Eitans. While he was used to wielding power in political arenas, the raw physicality of the Iron Company was something different ~ intimidating even. The tension in the room was palpable, made worse by the emotional outbursts that had unfolded. He had rattled Uaeso, eliciting a rare display of anger from the usually composed leader. That, at least, was a small victory in an otherwise unpleasant encounter.

Without another word, Vaelaris fell in line behind the two soldiers, who now carefully carried Tetsuya’s shrouded body towards the shuttle. The weight of the moment pressed down on him, but he kept his face expressionless, unwilling to betray any further discomfort. As they approached the shuttle, its ramp lowered with a smooth hum, and the soldiers, with practiced precision, gently loaded the body aboard. Vaelaris watched in silence, the lingering sense of animosity heavy in the air. He glanced briefly at the Iron Company men, knowing full well that any misstep could provoke them. For now, all he could do was follow, quietly biting back his frustrations, as the shuttle doors closed behind them.

Within minutes, the shuttle lifted off the deck and headed back into open space.

Uaeso

Uaeso stood firm, his eyes narrowing as he glanced at the Grandmaster. The tension in the room still simmered, but he wasn’t about to let it boil over. "Keep your men in line, for now," he said quietly, though there was a sharpness in his voice. "Vaelaris will be gone soon. No need to let this escalate any further." He could feel the frustration in the Iron Company soldiers, but now wasn’t the time to test the waters. Not yet.

As he watched Vaelaris and the guards depart, his thoughts drifted to the uncertain future. The Iron Company had long been loyal to the Eitans, but what would happen now with Sylix in command of the Imperium? That bond, that loyalty, had been deeply rooted in tradition. But traditions were being upended, and Uaeso wasn’t sure how long these soldiers would continue to honor the old agreements. His gaze followed the door as it slid shut behind Vaelaris, marking the end of this unsettling encounter.

Once the room settled into a quieter atmosphere, Uaeso realized that Azura had slipped out as well. "Might want to keep an eye on her as well," He exhaled, unsure of what storm was brewing within her, but for now, it wasn’t his immediate concern. He turned, his expression softening as his gaze fell upon Naika and their infant son. Moving toward them, he placed a gentle hand on Naika’s shoulder and looked down at the small life they had brought into this increasingly chaotic universe. For a moment, everything else faded. "Are you alright?" he asked, his tone warm and protective. His son stirred slightly, and Uaeso's heart lightened, if only briefly, in the face of so much uncertainty.

Jun

Jun stood at the console, watching the door close behind Vaelaris and the soldiers. His chest was tight, his breathing shallow, but he forced himself to focus. With swift, precise movements, he brought up the tracking data for the device he had slipped into their father’s body. His eyes scanned the screen, waiting for confirmation, hoping against all odds that they would honor the man’s final rites. A soft beep echoed in the sterile room. His jaw clenched. The shuttle had gone to FTL, but the body~the body was still in the system. His hand shook, fury surging through him. They hadn't taken Tetsuya to be honored. They had dumped him like waste.

With a sudden, violent motion, Jun slammed his fist into the console. The sound reverberated throughout the room, a crack appearing on the screen. His breath came fast, shallow, as he tried to keep his composure, but the betrayal cut deeper than he could stand. Without another word, Jun stormed out of the surgical bay. His eyes were dark, face tight with rage as he walked toward the group still gathered. "Vaelaris' shuttle went to FTL," he began, his voice tight with anger. "But the body... it’s still in the system. They dumped him into space." His fists clenched, his voice dropping lower. "They didn’t even give him the honor of a proper burial."

Lynira

As the ramp lowered Lynira followed Vaelaris' party on board the shuttle. Her eyes lingered over Tetsuya as his body was gently loaded onboard. The sense of animosity that lingered did nothing to shift her emotionless face as she remained silent. Before the doors closed she cast one last long look at the Iron Company and the gathered Eitans, particularly at the drone representing Steiner and Uaeso. "Firuzur liwaul.//Forever loyal" she vespered to Uaeso, as if some short message to convey her loyalties to the Eitans would ever be sufficient to describe all she truly felt. She was completely and utterly loyal to Tetsuya, with his passing she was not so sure the Eitans would be welcoming of that. Regardless of how she felt, she was doing this for her fallen Jol'Aestaesys and anyone trying to convince her otherwise could be damned. Though she still was not sure whether or not anyone other than Naika understood that she left to keep an eye on things, for as long as she would be able.

Sometime after the shuttle took off, something seemed amiss. Lynira then watched as the body of her former Jol'Aestaesys was ejected into space, she became utterly enraged. The only outward sign was a few rapid blinks as she watched in silent madness. "What the hell is going on here?" she thought to herself. Something did not quite seem right, is this what the Jol'Aester had intended? She was in no place to make inquiries about any of it. Not the manipulative lying worm who she was now in a shuttle with, certainly not to ask Sylix what the hell was going on. She would continue to perform diplomatic duties as she had before unless removed from the position by the corresponding appropriate parties, keeping an eye open for more suspicious activities.

Naika

Darkened rage filled eyes flitted to follow Azura as the woman ran from the room. Naika was not upset with Azura, not in the slightest. For now she had no reason to be, that she knew of. She was still reeling that the little twat knuckle of filth Vaelaris had utilized those words. Though not all Norians felt the same way she did, it was a sensitive issue to her that someone would see her husband as less than. To her, the word cli'cha was abhorrent. The look of death was in her eyes as she watched the shuttle doors close behind the Chancellor, wishing him the worst in whatever he did.

When Uaeso turned to look at her, her eyes lightened as that hellish rage inside cooled. She gazed at him lovingly as he approached, it brought her a moment of peace in this whirlwind of chaos they now found themselves in. Naika's body relaxed as her husband's hand gently rested on her shoulder, she had not realized how wound up she had been. She looked down to Arkos as he stirred, lost in wonder that they had brought this little life into being. It scared her to think what path might be ahead for their son now. The warm protective tone of Uaeso's voice gently shook that from her, her gaze raising to look upon his face. Naika's ears twitched slightly, "We are alright," she responded, her tone filled with loving affection. Arkos opened his eyes briefly to look at both of his parents. Naika held Arkos in one arm, with the other her hand gently caressed his cheek, placing a light kiss on his forehead.

Steiner wasted no time, driving the drone at top speed towards the console. ("Scramble craft!") He bellowed over the comms, ("HVT retrieval! Target is the Emperor's Remains-he has been jettisoned in system and we are currently tracking his body!")

In the shuttle bay the few fighters the Company had on board, at least those that could be prepped in any reasonable amount of time were scrambled-taking off at top speed with the intent to retrieve the fallen emperor's corpse. Steiner turned to the assembled Eitans. "We will ensure he returned to you, or the at the very least he receives proper burial somewhere if just to ensure that bastard son of a whore cannot defile his grave." As much as he wanted nothing more than to chase the Chancellor down and shove his plasma cannon down his gullet, the duty to his soldiers and friends came before personal vendettas...but one day, one-day Vaelaris would answer for what he had done.

Azura didn't know how much time had passed but she stood up on shaky legs and returned to the group her face looking dark and lifeless like everything that brought light and joy to the world had been replaced with a deep seeded darkness that was starting to take hold not only within her heart but in the depths of her soul. The moment she walked back over however she heard Jun's words and it felt like time just stopped. For a fleeting moment she couldn't move, she couldn't breathe, it's like all the air had been sucked from her body.

She said in a quiet voice that even she didn't recognize because of how broken and lost it sounded,"They didn't give him the honor of a proper burial...How much more disrespect must he endure?..How much more pain must we bare?...We weren't even given the right to grieve as is our right.." her voice trailed off as she felt the tears well up in her eyes again unable to stop the onslaught of grief that hit her in waves all over again she let out a wail that sounded like a strangled beast as she fell to her knees and let out everything she felt in that moment. She didn't care who saw or heard her the storm raging was too much to bare alone. Her body shook from the force of her grief so much so to the point she felt like she was drowning in despair and pain. The only words that could be heard was,"Why...Tetsuya why....Why did you leave me alone...."
