This suggestion has been implemented. Votes are no longer accepted.
3.8 meter diameter Thermal Telescope has an unlimited range? Please explain in the thread.

It’s a telescope, they all can see pretty much to the edge of the universe but they are limited by the speed of light, IE they see light from something one light-minute away with one minute of delay.

The sensor can’t see something instantly at massive distance, but it technically can see super far.

The companies on 188604 share technology. FSCorp will sell anything with the designer's approval and they can make them in bulk. @Zack, is this an item for the open market?

I'd like to mention that the multi-factional tech giant Iemochi Innovations & Sales (IIS) currently has a exclusive research agreement and special relationship for manufacturing with Section 6 and by extension USO. They would likely have assisted with this product and have some rights to it if it was developed there as per the agreement that was made.

In fact, this telescope is part of the internals of a military drone, which is ironically the specialist area for IIS. They'd be able to pump these out rapidly, with royalties to USO. @Jack Pine?

How about FSCorp make them and not pay royalties. Yes, that makes way more sense. IIC has no ties to this project thus no reason to be paid off. Foreign companies can step aside for the local corporation that built and sustains the planet's economy.

If you don't like my tune try to be more cooperative in the future, 188604 shares technology.

Chill guys, there is plenty of USO work to go around.

The design is actually put together by Wazu and released under a DBAD license.

You could buy a 3d printer yourself and start putting this together, but it'd be a lot cheaper (and higher quality) if you just bought one from the FSC.

You could run the thing using whatever datapads you like. Wazu has his own design (the scale) but you could just by some datajockeys and use those instead. I think that it would make sense that IIS internals might be used in KFY datapads, or they could be used in Wazu's scale datapads if the manufacturer of the pad can't make their own. I imagine IIS mostly makes things like superconducting wire, chips, resistors, ect... not like, large parts (at least until you make a few tech articles of your own).

I also didn't expect there to be a huge consumer market for these. The FSC is welcome to capitalize on it provided they follow the DBAD license.

We could also talk about IIS joining the FSC/USO/Section 6/Wazu technology sharing agreement though that might be a better thing for PMs.

I noticed a few minor things while skimming through the article:
  • Based upon what Wes said here, wouldn't hardening against "scalar attacks" require gravity-based barriers of some kind?
  • Shouldn't this submission have the nomenclature of Us-C1-E3901?
  • Shouldn't the submission's url be the following?
    Code:
    faction:uso:thermal_telescope_container

Designer and 'cost' info has been added.

Rizz, if you want to add a 'available for purchase through the FSC' feel free to do so.

FCScorp can do what it wants, I think I'm being quite co-operative given my company is engaging in JPs developing Section 6 technology rather than sitting back behind closed doors simply claiming to do things. No need to start kicking off because I mentioned some RP I'm doing in setting that may have applied to give this sub a nice backstory.

The company is currently branching out into many sectors given its prosperity in recent years, so it's feasible they could help out, as Jack asked me to do with the new warships he's building. If not, that's cool.

TNCs are the backbone of developing countries IRL and it stands to reason the relationship IIS has with USO is mutually beneficial (and has been shown to be so in setting), so Rizzo I don't know why you're arguing when IIS involvement unilaterally helps USO.

Please keep this argument out of the thread if you're going to turn it into one.

Yes you do need nomenclature. Easy fix.
