History:
The ESG was first conceived when NAM's Aerotech division needed a sidearm for their pilots and support personnel. The criterion for the weapon was for it to be light, compact, high ammo capacity, low caliber and still be intimidating. The weapon was then to be developed in-house. Although Aerotech themselves rarely did weapons of this kind, the results were surprising.

Made out of mostly plastics, the ESG was light. The inbred Aerotech desire for efficiency made the weapon relatively small. Due to the small bullet size, the standard clip for the ESG was 20. Lastly for the intimidating factor, the ESG was capable of going 600 rpm automatic fire as even small bullets can be frightening if dispensed in a generous amount.

However the weapon had its drawbacks. The plastic parts wore out quickly, the gun itself was unusable after the 5th clip and the full auto was uncontrollable if the gun was not held in both hands. But Aerotech was satisfied and reasoned that it only needed a use and throw emergency weapon, not a full combat sidearm.

The ESG went on to catch the attention of NAM as a whole. Interested in its design, Aerotech was ordered to develop a commercially viable version of the weapon. To extend its durability, the new ESG was made with higher durability ceramic parts. Extra spare parts were available for replacing the worn out portions of both the new ESG and the older plastic version.

To help in the replacing of parts, the weapon was modularized. This also made the weapon easily modifiable to suit various situations. A foldable stock, and extended clip, a scope, an extended barrel and a silencer later and the end result could be a SMG, target or covert pistol.

The weapon is to be distributed to law enforcement and security personnel. Ordinary Nepleslians may also buy and register the ESG for self defense purposes.

HHG ‘High Hybrid Gun'

Box of Hybrid Bullets (100) 10 KS
Box of MD Only Bullets (20) 10 KS

Nomenclature Information
Name: HHG, High Hybrid Gun
Type: Chemical and/or Mass Driver
Model: HHG-01a
Role: Personal Weapon
Length: 350mm
Weight: 2 KG

Discharge Information
Projection/ammo type: Solid
Firing Mechanism: Revolver, Single/Double Action
Caliber: .45 Zen Arms, S-NAM, H-NAM, M-NAM
Effective Range: 250m
Maximum Range: 400m (Hybrid Mode Only)
Minimum Range: 0m
Muzzle Velocity: 400 m/s^-1 (Standard), 800 m/s^-1 (Hybrid), 300 m/s^-1 (MD)
Muzzle Blasts:
I) Standard/ Hybrid: Loud bang with a large flash.
II) Standard ammo in Hybrid: Loud bang, large flash with hot residual matter spraying out.
III) Mass Driver Only: Small *clink* of the hammer followed by a *Fwp* of the MD.
Firing Mode(s):
I) Standard: Pulling the trigger, the chamber cycles and the hammer hits the primer, firing the bullet through the barrel.
II) Hybrid: After standard, the bullet hits a small switch at the start of the barrel which turns on the Mass Driver, propelling the bullet with additional magnetic force.
III) MD Only: Like hybrid, but the hammer hits the back of the bullet and nudges it into the barrel by mere kinetic force only.
Recoil: Strong recoil, weapon will arch upward. Recommended to be used only by people with muscular physiques and thick gloves.

Ammo Description:Name: .45 Zen Arms / S-NAM (Standard Bullets)
General Description: The standard legendary, cheap and widely available lead .45 Zen Arms bullet. S-NAMs are almost a carbon copy except are bronze colored with white bands near the primer end of the bullet marking it as a Standard bullet. FMJ and HJP bullets are differentiated by their weight and shape.
Ammo: 8 in single, moon or half moon clips.
Bullet Description:
I) FMJ: Penetrates armor via focusing its kinetic energy upon a small point, good for piercing armor.
II) HJP: Bullet deforms upon impact to transfer much of its kinetic energy upon the target, suitable for unarmored targets.

Ammo Description:Name: .45 H-NAM (Hybrid Bullets)
General Description: Normal H-NAM HJP and FMJ bullets are sold in the standard box of 100. The other H-NAM bullets would need to be ordered at a NAM store or through the InterNEP. H-NAM bullets are silvery lead and marked with colored bands near the primer end. HJP/FMJ (White), HE (Red), EMP (Blue), Radiation Marking (Green), Scanning (Black, unavailable for commercial use).
Ammo: 8 in single, moon or half moon clips.
Charge: 400 Shots, rechargeable and/or replaceable.
Bullet Description:
I) White: Works like their standard S-NAM brethren but with Hybrid shot support and extra kinetic energy from the mass driver. A clear shot from this can put just about anybody down.
II) Red: This bullet is filled with a pressure triggered explosives roughly equal to one stick of dynamite. The tip of this bullet is jacketed and pointed, allowing it to penetrate the thin walls of a standard drum before exploding. God forbid if shot at an unarmored target.
III) Blue: Like the Red bullet, but containing a compound that will react to create a small electro magnetic pulse upon impact. Good for putting down rouge droids.
IV) Green: Like the Red bullet, but containing a radioactive solution that will disperse forward upon impact. Unlike an electronic tracer that can be removed, the spill from the green bullet will enter the bloodstream and stay there for a few days, allowing the target to be tracked. Not recommended to put more than three of these into an unarmored target.
V) Black: Like the Green bullet, but containing a solution that emits a radiation similar to that of medical scanners, causing much damage, pain and discomfort to Nekos. The existence of this bullet is denied.

Ammo Description:Name: .45 M-NAM (Mass Driver Bullets)
General Description: M-NAMs has to be ordered at a NAM store or through the InterNEP. These grayish bullets have their function printed in bold black letters on the side and are only for Mass Driver use only.
Ammo: 8 in single, moon or half moon clips.
Charge: 400 Shots, rechargeable and/or replaceable
Bullet Description:
I) Liquid: This is a transparent hollow glass bullet caged in metal. They are designed to shatter upon impact to splatter the surface of the target. By default these bullets are filled with a skin absorbent tranquilizer liquid but can be twisted open to change its contents.
II) Audio: The tip of this bullet is pronged to attach on solid surfaces and padded to protect its electronic components inside. The bullet should be synchronized with a communicator before use, once fired it will serve as an audio emitter and receiver for half an hour.
III) Video: Similar to the speaker, but returning a low resolution fisheye video feed for five minutes.
IV) Tracker: Similar to the speaker, but returning precise positioning data for three days with a range of 500 Kilometers.
V) Solid Lead: A pointed solid lead bullet, great for (relatively) silent short range headshots.

Weapon Mechanisms:
Safety: Yes, Mass Driver safety switch on the battery has to be flipped. Small piece of wood locking the hammer must be removed prior to firing the first bullet.
Fire mode selector: Yes, flipping the Mass Driver switch.
Weapon Sight: Yes, Iron.
Attachment Hard points: Yes, Penny laser sight under the barrel tip, specially made x6 magnifier replacing iron sights, replaceable battery pack. Padded grips.
Really cool built in thingy: A solid swing out function.

Maintenance Information:
Field Maintenance Procedure: Disassembly and wiping of the firing mechanism and cleaning of the barrel.
Replaceable Parts and components: Pressing a pressure point on both sides of the battery will remove it. To attach, simply snap on.

History:
In a very short while after the ESG was produced, NAM's military development division Terratech received the ESG as a company sidearm. Needless to say the war veterans that made up most of tough guy Terratech were disgusted with the weapon four eyes Aerotech has developed. Terratech quickly began a project to correct this discrepancy in manly Nepleslia. The acronym to this weapon is HHG.

There was a limit to how much propelling force traditional gunpowder can pack, thus one of the main radical additions to the HHG was a mass driver incorporated into the large barrel, making the HHG a hybrid chemical/mass driver weapon. To add weight to manage the high recoil and to increase the weapon's durability, the HHG was to be made with stamped Power Armor grade Durandium.

The HHG was capable of firing chemical bullets normally, solid charges via mass driver or specially made hybrid bullets with both methods. In normal mode the HHG fires the standard FMJ and HJP .45 bullets in the traditional Zen Arms handgun. Because of the lesser need for powder in the hybrid bullets or none at all for the charges, this is where the HHG packs in some goodies.

Hybrid bullets come in the usual FMJ and HJP. They are particularly more lethal because of the two propellant systems working in tandem. They also come in HE, Radiation Tagging and EMP. The secretive X-tech took notice of this project and even made an anti-neko Scanning bullet for their nefarious uses. Hybrid bullets are marked with colored rings where the gunpowder charge is.

‘Mass Driver Only' bullets has a shock absorbing paste where the gunpowder is, allowing the hammer to nudge the charge into the barrel while minimizing the noise of it striking the bullet. They have the least kinetic force compared to the other bullets but their uses are mostly tactical. The bullet types include radio triggered explosives, trackers, microphones, speakers. The last bullet is a solid tungsten charge for skull penetration at up to 15 meters.

To facilitate the easy selection and switching of bullets, the HHG was made to be a Revolver type weapon. The user could spin the barrel to his or her desired bullet or load newer ones to suit the present situation. Although one shot is all it takes to bring down an unpower-armored humanoid, targets must be managed because of the 8 bullet limitation of the cycling chamber.

Terratech is trying to sell the weapon to the SAoN but also cater to civilians to recoup the expenditure from their ego trip.

I hate you for stealing my submachine pistol idea before I could finish it. You'll burn for that. *grins*

ESG: I think the concept is sound, especially the early part. I question the "5 bps," mostly because I don't know what that means. Are we talking "five bullets per second?" As in, 300 rnds/min? That's not a bad firing rate, but it's slow.

(Nitpicky: "Magazine," not "clip.")

The whole modularizing of the weapon ... it sounds highly questionable. Not all of it -- the SMG is obviously possible with just the pistol portion as the receiver, as could the covert pistol. But sniper rifle? We don't know what ballistics you have planned for the cartridge here, but if you're stealing my idea (AND I KNOW YOU ARE!) you probably want something similar to 5 mm, possibly even 4 mm. If so, "sniper rifle" might be stretching the capabilities.

HHG: I think I get the hybrid bit. But don't forget, if this baby's going to fire .45 ZA out of a revolver chamber, you'll need half- or full-moon clips to make it work.

And don't forget -- JHP is for "Jacketed HollowPoints." I don't know what HJPs are, but I assume it's another way of saying that. Hollow Jacketed Points?

Snap -- I meant, "Bumped DUE TO updates." Sorry dude.

STOP! Inspection time.

1. An effective range of 100 meters from a plastic gun is indeed impressive ... and I'm thinking that it actually works. But -- I caution you here -- if you're firing tungsten bullets, there's no way you're going 100 meters.

Tungsten's not only incredibly hard, it's heavy. Even at 6.35 mm (.25-caliber) you're looking at bullets that weigh much more than the couple grams you're probably looking for -- these babies could weigh as much as 6 grams (~92 grains). That'll produce more recoil, and the trajectory of your bullets is going to get all fucked up.

More importantly, it's going to 1) put a lot of pressure on your plastic components and 2) really fuck up your barrel. I realize that in the 01p, it doesn't matter, but it might in the ceramic gun. Seriously, with automatic fire, you'll ruin the barrel within a couple magazines.

Most importantly, though -- you won't pierce shit with a heavy bullet being fired at such a slow speed. This baby goes a bit slower than 9 mm Parabellum, and that's not enough to pierce even a few layers of Kevlar. A bit of that Emrys Body Armor would probably stop the rounds cold, even if they'd knock a guy down.

Suggestions: Describe the round in a bit more detail. A long, relatively sharp, needle-type round might have better luck piercing shit, but it'll lack the trajectory and range you've got. And you still have the barrel problem. Seriously, tungsten takes really high-quality barrels.

Lead is your friend, maybe with a steel or fullerine dart inside, if you really want AP power. Sticking to straight lead FMJ is cheaper.

By the way, the pommel is brilliant for a cheap foregrip. Much easier to manufacture.
