The dreamy sequence of the opening titles of the Yamatai Interstellar News Network began as the program came back from a commercial break. Blooming in front of the viewer of YINN was a kikyō flower, purple and delicate in nature with the motto of YINN overlayed on top of it, which said, “We Bring the Empire to You!"
The newscaster came into view shortly thereafter and said sharply, "Breaking news! The place where the princess Hanako, herself, recently stayed for a short shore leave was torn asunder by a hurricane that damaged hotels, resorts, and town homes on the shores of Paradise City! We bring footage straight to you of the destruction caused by detrimental forces of nature!"
The screen was then filled with the scene of wreckage and destruction while a woman in a yellow raincoat held her hood up and swayed with the wind as if pulled by a marionette. Her name flashed on the bottom left of the screen as well as the location, Hanako's World.
"This is Cassandra Roberts coming to you live on Hanako's World!" The woman said into the slender microphone she held, "As you can see, there is much to be repaired and seen to on the planet named after the princess best known for being captain of the YSS Eucharis and the protégé of Ketsurui Yui! Shôshô Han— Aah!"
The woman was pushed by the wind out of view of the camera trained on her and the camera itself was knocked to the ground. The only visual coming from Cassandra Roberts' location was her heels stepping sideways one way and then another until the camera feed cut out.
Back in the studio, the newscaster was once again the main focus of the viewer's attention as the director, Jonathan Castle, cut away from the visual coming from Hanako's World.
The newscaster said in a rushed tone, "More on that at eleven!"
She shuffled her hand about in front of her and said in a more neutral voice, "Bird-spotters rejoice as the scissor-tail flycatcher younglings are coming from their nests and beginning to show their brilliant blue colors! Our cameras caught glimpses of the immaculate insect-hungry avians!"
