What mechs can escape a gravitational field with sheer thrust alone?

the strongest point of a star's gravity
That would be the surface, about 615km/s for surface escape for a star about the same mass and diameter as the sun. It's more for denser, smaller stars since it's a function of both mass and radius. Find the sublight space speed of the mech. There you go. (SARPtech has very efficient and powerful sublight plasma thrusters).
