Where do you see your character in 20 years?

I had a random thought last night and thought it might be cool to hear what you guys think.
Where do you see your character at in 10 IC years from now? 20 years from now? 50 years? 100 Years?

Poppy Pink in 20 years:
  • Will probably work in a hospital or major Star Army facility, like her dad
  • Maybe settles down with someone and gets a nice house
  • Dreams about her Resurgence days
  • Visit's [REDACTED]'s gravestone regularly to leave flowers
  • Owns the Pulsing Pearl club
Aoba:
  • After the Resurgence, Aoba captained a battleship for a while, where he became an Admiral. Eventually he rose to fleet command.

Sanda in 10 years: I imagine at some point she's going to take some leave and have a couple of kids. While on leave she volunteers with the Recon school to train new recruits.
Sanda in 20 years: It's possible she finally breaks down and becomes an officer, although that's kinda up in the air. When she finally retires, or they force her to retire because her body had taken too great a beating over the years she becomes an instructor for the Recon where she constantly scares the pants off the young recruits with her stealth skills. I imagine once a year, probably around the new year, she has a reunion with her Resurgence crew mates where they just sit around swapping old war stories.

Thomas Canterbury in 20 years: With any luck he's moved up the latter and become an admiral, but still uses the Wakaba as his flag ship. I could also see him dying heroically in battle, the last one to abandon ship.

Setsunu in 50 years: At some point she finally breaks down and becomes an officer. Possibly even ship's captain of the Wakaba under Admiral Thomas' flag. Or she becomes the ship's captain because Thomas was killed and the crew just feel it would be right for her to take command of her. I also think at some point she and Thomas would officially get married and she takes his name.

This is a strange question to answer because of the nature of collaborative roleplay. Logical in-character paths often won't pan out because of out-of-character realities, be those the necessity of being able to stay in RP or because some fresh NPC takes the place you've destined for your character. Star Army characters who raise to admiral rank, for example, become NPCs that are usable by at least Wes, and not everyone wants that for their character.

So, realistically, Ketsurui/Kitsurugi Aiko in 20 years will still be the first officer or captain of whatever ship features in the Kaiyō plot. Ranked Taisa at max. There's plenty of room in that space for her to continue being a renowned warrior and hero of the Empire. That is simply if the OOC status quo persists because the plot must go on.

In a fictional reality less bounded by a roleplay's OOC necessities, I think she'd become a Taisho of one of the Star Army's fleets 10 years from now. Even before that, she'd probably become a brevet admiral in the Star Army of Uesureya simultaneously to her Yamataian rank. At some point in her life, Aiko would be the shogun/military governor of a Yamataian sub-sector. And then grander beyond that, eventually leading a full nation because it's in her character, but there's really no timetable associated because Neko/Yamataians are effectively immortal and so 20 years is a footnote in personal/professional progression. She'll teach at SAAMMS again, as she has in the past, to confer her experiences upon newer generations of military leadership.

My other character, Saiga, would probably be a retired family man in 20 years. Tending to some Saiga Clan castle and the responsibilities therein. His in-character goal starting in 2005 was to become a SAINT agent and, logically, rise up to one day become Director. But I don't want him to be an NPC so that's out for whatever will happen in actual RP.
