Inactive Member
Name: Yaganori Ranji

General Information
Species: Yamataian
Gender : Male
Age: 19

Family/Creators:

Grandfather/Father of Shiori - Yaganori Hiroki - (Deceased)
Father - Kyoshi Kazuki - (Whereabouts Unknown)
Mother - Kyoshi Shiori - (Deceased)

Employer: Star Army of Yamatai
Occupation: Power Armor Pilot
Rank: Santo Hei
Assignment: None to date

Physical Characteristics

Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 175 lbs.
Hair Color: Jet Black

Build & Skin Tone: At first glance, Ranji appears to be your average Yamataian, but upon closer inspection, you can see that his muscles, while not large, are very toned and well-defined. This is due in part to his near-obsessive compulsion for movement and his inability to sit still (not really a physical problem, basically he's hyper). To burn off this excess energy he seems to have, he decided to put it into exercise and it has more than paid off.

Facial Features: Ranji is by all accounts still quite young, and his face reflects that. His green eyes that shine with a keen intelligence, yet they still betray his almost childlike curiousity and desire to learn and do all that he can.

Distinguishing Features: None really, save for his toned body, which only seems to be noticable when he is wearing his training uniform.

History

After his mother died giving birth to him with his father nowhere to be found, Ranji was taken in by his grandfather, Hiroki. Having trained since he was a small boy to become an honorable warrior, Ranji sets off on his own for the training academy, where he learned how to pilot power armor in hopes of being assigned to duty in the Yamataian Star Army and one day fufill the dreams and wishes his grandfather instilled in him of becoming a true and honored warrior.

Psychological Characteristics
Personality: Quite energetic, even for a Yamataian, he loves doing almost anything. Fairly laid back, there isn't too much that Ranji takes seriously, yet if he does, he shows a focus and tenacity that can be hard to match. Of all things, Ranji believes his body to be a temple of sorts, and trains it to it's limit constantly, avoiding any and all toxic things such as alcohol or drugs, though that doesn't mean he won't eat some junk food on his downtime. While cooped up on a small ship, however, he studies constantly, reviewing what he knows, and striving to learn anything new. His thirst for knowledge can sometime get him into trouble if he's not careful, as he may jump to a new discipline or philosophy without actually doing any prior research on it.

Likes: Exercise, reading, strategy/war games, piloting his power armor, and noodles
Dislikes: Seafood, sitting still, television (or it's equivalent), and alcohol
Goals: To become the best warrior he possibly can.

Skills

Fighting: Ranji was trained by his grandfather in hand-to-hand combat, as well as kendo from the time he was six until he turned eighteen. Though he has been considered proficient in his grandfather's eyes, he still continues to train and refine his techniques nearly daily. He also has spent plenty of time in combat training, working on his marksmanship. While it is acceptable, he truly shines in CQB, prefering a bladed (or energy-bladed) weapon to firearms. Also has some training in zero-g enviroments, but only in a power armor.

Communications: Fluent in English and capable of short conversation in Japanese, he has enough skills to properly file reports and send/recieve transmissions to and from his power armor whether in combat or an escort mission.

Technology Operation: Capable in using the latest Kessaku OS system, as well as some slightly older builds.

Mathematics: He recieved basic mathematics training from his grandfather as a child, and has begun teaching himself the basics of calculus.

Physical: Ranji has a very well toned muscle structure from spending hours training himself daily. He also is a very capable swimmer and a good distance runner, capable of running five (miles?) in approximately 40 minutes with little to no exhaustion.

Leadership: He is very intelligent, as well as an exceptionally fast learner. Learned basic squad stratagies from his grandfather, as well as being quite tactful. Despite this, he is somewhat shy and still has trouble speaking in front of large crowds, causing him to prefer more of a support role than that of a commander, though he will accept the duty if he feels it necessary.

Humanities: He learned basic psychology and sociology as a teenager, as well as old Japanese philosophy (standard culture with it's blending of bushido) from his grandfather. He has high moral values and a deep belief that justice and decency will prevail.

1. There are no older builds of the Kessaku OS he'd've ever seen, but I like the thought put into that detail. Good thinking.

2. The only mark I can find against this is the leadership skill, which is usually reserved for characters higher up the food chain. You justified it well enough, however, so I'm having a hard time even going against that. I would qualify it with something, such as lower confidence or some trepidation about taking authority into his own hands.

Also note that what he "knows" about how people think might not live up to the test of reality.

It would help to know what "wishes" his grandfather instilled in him.

Pending those edits, this character is approved for IC usage.

Please write a wiki page for him, update your contact information in the OOC thread if you haven't already done so, and start writing up an order request, found in the SA comm network forum.

Edits were made, I posted my information on the OOC topic, though I do not know how or where I write a Wiki page...

Ah, sorry -- go up to the "setting and info guides" to help you get started. It'll take you to the StarWiki.

Thankies, and I posted my request for an assignment already, so hopefully I'll have my shipping orders soon.
