Hey, Yahoo Mail seems to be bouncing all the mail Star Army sends back to my inbox. So, (since Yahoo mail sucks anyway), I would like to invite you guys to try gmail instead. Let me know if you need an inivte and I'll PM it to you.

Okay I'll bite. What is GMAIL? I just keep using my old hotmail. Is this like some kinda direct person to person email line thing?

It's related to the evil Google. It's like Yahoo Mail, but for Google, really. Most Gmail users tend to act a bit lofty about their supposedly awesome e-mailling service... which makes me suspicious, if you ask me.

It must be some secret cult organisation!

Ffft. We're not a cult. That one time we sacrificed a lamb was just for fun.

SEIG HEIL! HEIL GOOGLE!

Invite sent. Try it, and you'll never go back to hotmail. (I used to used paid hotmail, but Gmail offers more for free!)

Gmail has good points and bad points...

Pros:
- Google is good at getting reasonable amounts of stored data to you FAST. My university's email service has latencies of up to a few seconds. With Google it's "OMG I need a seat-belt!"
- UI (user interface) is nice. I have friends who rave about the labeling system... Okay, maybe it is a cult. ^_^;;

Cons:
- It's down sometimes. More often than I'd like. I tend to check my email really late at night / morning. They usually take the servers down during those times.

I have it ... I just never use it.

This is primarily because I get an E-mail whenever anyone posts on SA and if I'm using YIM I get a little pop up window telling me about it. Thus I can respond within around about 3 seconds to any post.

This must make cleaning up your inbox tedious if every post shows up on your mail. ~_~;

I do the same thing with Gmail. There's a downloadable desktop notifier, and also a Firefox extension (which I use) which instantly notifies me of new emails.
