Well the simplest thing for talking to someone in the SARP, would be to click on their profile and the YIM button therein. After this (and logging in), it will open up a window, and you will be able to add them to your freinds list. They you can talk to them.
Okay I'm still not doing something right. I get a new screen and I sign in, get some little window with some options and I'm hitting a wall here. Then what? ;_;
Add the people in the contact info thread to your pager list. It's not much different than any other chat program. If you're talking about the little thing that pops up every time you log in, you can just close it, and turn it off if you want. There might be a tour thing for the first time you open it, but you can probably close that too.
