I'm a little iffy on this because it retcons the planet's colonization and discovery back to YE 30 (2007-2008!) and I'm not sure I want to set a precedent for factions to say "we've had this planet all along." Also, I think the Star Army would have sent ships to investigate back in YE 30 after contact was lost.
 
I can see your point, I didn't think of that when I was writing up the planet nor when I did the briefing in the plot. Hmmmm, what about changing its colonization date to last year; with it falling off the grid not long after this year started?

Could this work instead?
