I submit for your approval J'dompal Gruk'mirr, a random alien human-sized intelligent octopus who never knew his parents nor where he came from and grew up in Funky City busking for money with an intricate puppet show until the novelty wore off and he started tending bars. He moved to Kyoto in YE 38 as a first step in seeing the world and has been tending the bar of The Furious Sound ever since.
