Saito reclined in the chair of her new office, seeing Katsuko's personal items had been removed...it was strange, and much like when she'd died, oddly enough. It took her a moment to get together all the data she wanted together, as she prefered a lot of her efforts to have a paper trail as well as electronic copies...it was an oddity in this modern army, but her file safe had been moved to her new office, and she sent a communication out to Misato and Kahori...

Misa-chan, Kahori-chan, please join me...I would like to speak with you on important matters involving the 5th's structure.

Kahori reported as ordered after a time, but Misato was nowhere to be seen...Saito waited patiently, wondering what was preventing the Chujo from showing.
 
Misato arrived, saying to Saito; "I apologize for my tardiness, I had some other business that I had to attend to."
 
"Understandable, you are a busy woman..."

Saito said, trusting that Misato would not be tardy without reason.

"I will be blunt...as a Taisho, I need to assign command of the Star Fortresses to someone. I can no longer be Himitsu's CO, and we all know why Miho cannot continue her duties as Hotaru's...I want Kahori to command Himitsu, and Misato to command Hotaru...this is not an order, however. It's merely an offer...also, I still need an answer from you and your sister, Misato, on the DRT option."



Kahori hesitated a moment, before replying, in a very concise manner...

"...I accept Himitsu's Command."
 
Misato listened to Saito's offer, and then Kahori's unquestionable acceptance of it. She let out a sigh, "Taisho, with all due respect I must decline your offer. Command of a Star Fortress is not exactly where I see myself posted, I would prefer to remain the head of security for our operations in the cluster."

To Misato, a Star Fortress command was like a form of retirement; something she pictured much later in her life.

"I however recommend Rina...She is more than qualified." She said, boasting support for her subordinate.
 
Saito nodded to Misato, and sent Rina a communication.

"Rina-chan, please come to my office when able...I have an assignment for you..."


After sending this, she received a communication, which made her blink.

"...It seems the Akigumo's Fleet CO, Kage-Taii, was shot by...his own father over a dispute? Nice...just the kind of press we need in the shadow of Kat's ascension..." She said, with sarcasm.

"Only in a perfect world, ne girls? Anyway, it's just one more example of why I have my hands full..."
 
After a time, Saito recieved a mesage from Rina, saying she was unable to attend, with her apologies...

"...I guess I will have to command a Fortress as well as the fleet...Mou~..."

Saito stood, clearning her throat. "Oh well...I guess I'll maintain command of Himitsu for now, and allow Kahori-chan to command Hotaru. Still, we seem to even be lacking admiralty as well as general officers now...from what I hear, the 3rd XF is no better off..."
