Approved Character [YSS Anoiktos] Araquiel "Samandriel" Zarall

I know it is probably something very close to you personally, but as account of the Elysian's general cultural views I do have to ask: is there any specific reason why the character would not have undergone a body swap to correct their gender issue? The Elysians are the originators of the ST (soul transfer) tech and have long allowed legitimate cases of transgenderism to switch their biological sex at will.

They only things they end up being downers about is any sort of transvestism and other actions that take one out of their self-assigned gender identity.

I assumed that the ST would have to cost, so as he was disowned he has no money to change.

Throughout the Military training he ignored the idea of body swapping and that as he thought it would make him like a Yamataian and he dislikes all things Yamataian.
 
With the pretty definitive language used in the article I would say it would probably have been something that was forced onto him by the Elysian establishment - as they still consider it a medical deficiency that is to be cured. The matter in which his family responded in general would probably differ also since his problem is one that is considered nondisruptive by wide standing Elysian culture. Other than that I can't say much more on it since that's more of Aendri's field than mine.

Though it could always be a case where his family are the ones that are societal freaks and not him this universe around.
 
Just to clarify, no, body swaps in Elysia are much the same as they are in Yamatai. They're completely free, and available to any one, at any time, with the exception of a certain level of criminal or mentally ill individuals. So unless the character is a pretty major criminal (in which case, they're not going to be allowed in the military), or flat out doesn't want to switch, they can switch at any time.

Now, a couple quick things, before you fix that.

We need both metric and imperial measurements for both height and weight. Not entirely sure why you mixed and matched, but eh.

Past there, I'm going to skip a bunch, since the body swap could change a LOT about those areas.

Just in general on the skills, we are technically still a full part of the SAoY. That means you need the four required skills, even if you started elsewhere. Those would be required just to remain a member of the military. Specifically, you need the required text in Communications, Fighting, and you need to add the Mathematics skill.

Explosives needs to be more specific than that. Just detail it more. What kind of explosives? What kind of uses is he best at? And so on.

Vehicles needs to be clarified and cut back. There just flat out isn't enough time to learn every vehicle, in every faction, of every type. Also, Maintenance would go under the Maintenance and Repair skill, not Vehicles.

Past there, nothing needs to be changed until I see what's altered because of the body.
 
Alrighty, sorry about the delay. Centurylink still isn't playing nice, but at least I can connect periodically now.

If you don't mind, go ahead and expand on the build and skin color section, and add a wings section to the physical area. Remember, the goal is for someone to be able to draw the character based off of this stuff alone, so you want detail.

You should also see if you can find an example image for the tattoo. There are a LOT of ways for a dragon tattoo to be interpreted, so a little visual would be awesome. Don't sweat it if you don't find anything you like, though.

Same as usual, I'd recommend you list a different goal. As admirable as that goal is, it's not something that is really feasible to have in mind at this point. Make it something simple that could feasibly be obtained in the next year or two, like being promoted to command.

Under the history, you don't need to include yourself in the family list.

The only part of the history that I'm really iffy on is him getting disowned. Elysia is the empire where the ST tech originated, they've been bodyswapping for longer than Samandriel has been alive, and procedures like his to help his body match his mind are actually pretty acceptable. If he crossdressed it would be one thing, because Elysians tend to view that as deceitful, but actual gender changes aren't really looked down on. That's just seen the same way as working out or other forms of bodily change, just the individual trying to get their body to look and feel how they want it to.

Skills look fine to me, same goes for inventory and finances.

Only other thing, is you should take it and drop it in a spellchecker like Microsoft word. A lot of the mistakes I see are just homonyms, so it's still pretty clear what you meant to say, it'll just be much more readable with the correct spellings.

One little tweak, but you're good to go. What color are his wings naturally, if they're dyed? That should be included.

Approved, just include that one little bit for me.
