Crew Cabin 2

After finally getting everything put away into her locker - minus the scrolling frame and her harisen, which were set up on the desk - Chieko began checking for whom she needed to report to next. It was not long until she located herself almost directly under the guidance of Ishikawa Chiasa, a Juni whom she then noticed was on the bridge. The young woman smiled at the prospect of getting to know someone new so soon and was quick to compose a note to her new department head.

Ishikawa-Juni,

I am one of those recently transferred to the Soyokaze, and apparently under your leadership. Please let me know if I should be reporting to you prior to our send off parade tomorrow?

Regards,
Koizumi Chieko, Nitou Hei

"Black and white? They make movies in black and white?" This was new to the young neko, there had been no need to teach her about such movies so she never learned. "Why would they do that? Color is much prettier." She decided now that they were done they had to return the extra supplies to the med bay so she began to walk, heading there, still looking to Meiko though.

Meiko laughs a bit and shook her head, heading back in the direction of the Medical Bay now. She herself had wondered the same question a long time ago, when she got into the old-time movies, why did they make movies in Black and White? She took a moment to ponder on her answer, leaving the young neko in quiet solitude before about half way there she spoke up. "Because its a sign of time, Color may be pretty but its a sign of change rather then time, time is something you want to respect, learn upon, reflect. I might also note that this was before color was invented that most black and white movies were made. Now a days its something that you'd see as an art style, or a throw back to the olden days." She shrugged lightly. "I like them though, they used to have such wonderful actors and actresses, so much better then a majority of the actors we have now a days."

Takeyu smiled at Misato. "That is fine, I wouldn't want you to feel uncomfortable after all," he wasn't hurt at all by what she said - in fact - he'd already felt that something like this would happen.

Nenene nodded in agreement to the Admiral's comment about the Soyokaze's more than ample power generation system.

"Joto Heisho Takako is working on final systems checks" Nenene replied. "Do you wish me to call her away from her duties to report to you?" the operative asked.

The Taisho continued to stare at the ships reactor, aware of the others in the bay that were going about their business. "No need," she said as she received a message to her digital brain and smiled. "I think for now it is best to suspend the tour, your new CO has just arrived, you may as well go and meet him - I shall stay here for the time being....."

The purple neko listened closely to the explanation that Meiko gave her and nodded her head taking in the information. "I haven't seen many movies so I'm not sure I can tell what's good, but old-timey movies sound like fun. Will you let me watch one some time?" Her curiosity was in full motion now she wanted to see these amazing movies for herself now.

Nenene had just received the notice that the commanding officer had just boarded the ship as well. She nodded. "Thank you, Taisho" she said with a respectful bow. With that, the officer turned and departed from the engineering space. She was glad to be free of guiding the admiral around the ship. Hanging out with flag staff was not something an operative like herself liked to do, hell being out of her cubicle at SAINT HQ was a strain for her usual modus operandi.

She accessed the computer, inquiring of the new captain's location and headed there. Within a few short minutes she arrived in the hangar and spotted the command officer along with another. She had been reading up on his official file and recognized his face from the file hologram. The other was the new infantry NCO

"Taii Nayacesen Takeyu" she stated as she approached her new captain and bowing. "Nito Heisho Suzume Misato" she greeted the infantry neko as well. "I am Shoi Ise Nenene, welcome aboard the Soyokaze"

After some time relaxing from her unpacking, and no response to her message, Chieko started looking up the task list to see what was left to work on. Loading stock was easy enough work, mentally; however it did have a bit of a physical component to it and a more pressing issue of logistics personnel being rather touchy about where everything went. Vehicles, both terrain and aerospace, were also on the list, but quite likely also in that worrying position.

Engineering, medical, the bridge... It was starting to look as if plenty had been taken care of until she noticed a laboratory section. A couple technicians had been assigned to it along with a few extra green science staff - perhaps the perfect place for her to start.

Hopping up off her bunk, and straightening out her uniform again, The academic boldly made her way out of her cabin and on to the other end of the ship for a date with destiny.

She smiled at her child-like innocence, having to remind herself that despite the adult body she had, Ume was still only a one year old. She sighed lightly in amusement and then nodded a bit towards her. "I wouldn't mind watching some with you during our down time, Ume." She took a moment to ponder what they might watch, before shaking her head a bit with a slight giggle. "I am sure that you will enjoy it."

"Thank you," said Takeyu as he returned the bow and then looked the soldier over. "How long you been on the ship?" he asked as he hefted his duffel bag over his shoulder and peered toward several fighters.

Hangar

"Three weeks" Nenene replied. "I have been overseeing the ships final preparations" she clasped her hands behind her back and followed Takeyu's eye line to the fighters, taking note of what drew his attention.

Hanger

Takeyu just stared at first, before he realized that the XO had also been staring as well. "My apologies, I served on a much smaller ship so I've never been on one with fighters so I'm rather curious, but then....", he smiled and then turned toward the XO. "So, three weeks.. I'm sorry you've had to go so long without your captain, afraid I've been... held up..." which would've been an understatement, he'd realized that his orders for transfer to the Soyokaze had actually been made 'while' he was on mission with the Eucharis, so maybe that was the reason his lateness had been acceptable by the Taisho.

Hangar

Nenene smiled. "It is no problem at all" she replied. "It gave me time to acclimate to the new environment in relative piece. It's been some time since I served aboard a starship"

Hanger

"I take it you served planetside before?" asked Takeyu as he gestured toward the hangers exit and began to walk toward it.

Hangar

"Yes" she replied. "My previous assignment was with SAINT" she did not add that it was still a current assignment. No one really left SAINT for other jobs in the fleet.

Hanger

Hearing the word SAINT did not surprise Takeyu at all, he'd already had to serve under one before and it wasn't a very pleasant experience. Once outside of the hanger, the Taii stopped and looked around the corridors, they were much bigger than the ones on the Eucharis and this made him rub the back of his head rather curiously, he'd already gone through the ships specs and layout but it wasn't the same as actually 'seeing' it for himself. "Mighty big ship," he said although he meant to say that to himself and in his thoughts, not aloud. "Whom else is onboard right now? Do we have a full crew or everyone still trickling in?"

Outside the Hangar

"It is large" Nenene agreed. "Most of the crew is aboard already. We should have the last few within the next half hour" she went on. "I think you will like the extra space on a ship this size much more comfortable to live in than on the gunships"

Corridor

"Don't know, it might take some getting used to. On a small ship you knew where everything was, and everyone for that matter, but on such a large ship like this it is.... easy to get lost..." said Takeyu as he continued to peer down the various corridors.

Corridor

Nenene shrugged. "It's not that bad" she suggested. "Anyways, at least there is more ship between you and vacuum"
