Hyperspacial fissures ruptured realspace in long stream-like patterns, from them emerged the coming predators in their sleek black wing-like fighters. Ten thousand strong they approached like a swarm of locusts, streams of light subspace positron-gatling cannons and compressed aether missiles poured from them towards the two squadrons of unexpecting Ayana-Class Escorts.

Just when the hyperspace transmission was about to leave the lead escort, another fissure formed as the long black body of another ship left one of the rifts. This one was much larger, it had a rough arthropodic look to it, a long telson-like tail extending aft of its megastructure. It unleashed an anti-FTL field which oddly had no effect on their rifts and began transmitting shifting electromagnetic and distortional frequencies snuffing out the chances of that communication from reaching anywhere.

Bombers, slightly larger than the fighters already in play emerged from integrated launch tubes along the tail structure of the larger ship. Each one of them carrying three car-sized planetary bombardment bombs.

Tenshi Power Armors flowed from the Ayanas and the two Ionoche which emerged from the asteroid field to try and assist them. Two beams swept forth from the Carrier cleaving one of the Ionoche right in two, the two peices rippled with energy as they drifted away from each other and then detonating.

The Tenshi armors brought down hordes of the enemy fighters, but were being pushed closer and closer to Yuukan I. The force they were facing outnumbered them, and they were not making any ground. One of the bombers slipped past them, and released all three of its heavy aether bombs which tore through the atmosphere detonating above the Peacekeeper base.

More fighters poured from the hyperspacial rifts which were oddly being held open as the battle proceeded, as the battling armors passed them they could likely see the glimmer off the Juggernaught's hull, the massive warship which was remaining beyond their reach.

Escape pods poured from the Ayanas as they became overwhelmed, the fighters turning even on the defenseless life boats, they obviously followed no rules of engagement nor had any value on the lives of their enemies. Those that were not destroyed were caught in the graviton arrays of the Carrier and dragged against their will into one of its bays.

Four more bombers delivered their ordinance to the first planet, leaving it a desolate wasteland. Fighters scavaged through the wreckage, towing what they could behind them and back into the hyperspacial rifts which had begun to close.

The fighters of their own that were disabled, caught friendly fire and were destroyed, being mauled by other fighters and a final sweeping beam from the Carrier which cleaved through the asteroid containing the research base there.

They left as they had come, obviously owning what they had come to destroy was not on their agendas. The rifts no longer stabilized by the generators on board the Juggernaught began to heal. The Carrier slipping last but not least into the darkness.

Yuukan was a wasteland, a bleeding hole in the side of the Colonies.

After the massacre, several dozen Ayana and a half-dozen Ionoche arrived to investigate the situation, to see the ships there completely annihilated.

Saito was aware within minutes of the discovery, and rushing a letter to the Assembly...
