ZKC - Colliding Universes

Drydock

Sakura found herself thrown back against the ground, sliding a few feet before coming to a stop. The pain was immense, her ribs were hurting and her lungs were burning; she coughed and spat up blood. In just one hit she had found herself already in a rather dangerous situation but it wasn't over yet.

She struggled to her feet, wobbling from side to side before she straightened herself up. She flexed her hand and in the moment when they was about to use her ability, felt a mild shock in her right wrist.

Sakura hadn't noticed the second limiter which had apparently been put on her at some point before the fight, this would make things difficult. If only I could overpower these damned things... she tried to recall her memories but they were all foggy, muddled up.

Cruise Liner

"Forget it," said the Captain once again. "You will not tell me to evacuate this ship, you do not have that kind of authority!" The captain snarled at the commander.

Kaoru shook her head and was about ot say something when she noticed Toshiro in pain. "You ok?" he asked, walking up and placing a hand on his shoulder.

Drydock

Boris relentlessly tore into the girl, punching, kicking, trampling, flinging her into the air only to slam against her neck with his arm, painfully...the relentless combo making the die-hard fans cheer. These people had no remorse for making children suffer for their guilty pleasure of wagers and fighting...

"BORIS"
*SLAM*
"WILL"
*WHACK*
"CRUSH!"
*CRRACK!*
"YOU!"
*THOCK*

Cruise Liner

"GKKT!" The moment Kaoru touched his shoulder, Toshiro's eyes widened as he doubled over and collapsed, briefly crying out as he hit the ground...and more, in time with the blows. Aoi and Shiho were quite startled by this, as was Minamoto.

"But he's not even using his power! Shiho, check this out, this isn't the type of effect excess power burn would cause!"

Drydock

Her body was racked with pain; everything hurt, but she endured it for as much as possible until finally she felt it in both of her wrists. The limiters shattered under Boris's relentless assaults, that was the problem with an muscle-bound pee-brain, they didn't know their own strength.

With the limiters now gone, Sakura began to feel her power again and looked at Boris with a sly grin. Let's dance... she said as one of the guards pointed at her and shouted something that she couldn't hear.

Cruise Liner

Shiho quickly rushed over and placed her hand against Toshiro's head; she saw a scattering of memories that were all jumbled up but every ounce of pain the boy felt she also saw something else, something strange; the pain wasn't really coming from anything within the boy, no wounds and no internal injures were causing it.

"Its... not coming from him.. but hes responding to it," she muttered and continued to focus. "Its like his body is responding to someone 'else' being hurt..." it was the best way she could describe it, from what she was seeing.

Drydock

Ignorant of the situation, and not hearing the cries of the guards during the battle, Boris drew back for a finishing blow...

"BORIS WILL CRUSH YOU LIKE EX WIFE CRUSH BORIS' SPIRIT!"

Cruise Liner

Toshiro struggled to recover, as Minamoto ran through possibilities.

"Could this be some form of psychic attack?" He asked, not liking how helpless he was to prevent or end this...

Drydock

A mental flash was all Sakura needed to remember an attack that would work; when Boris's fist was near she used her power to leap into the air, clearing the ground easily as one of the guards tracked her with his rifle, but was stopped from firing due to another who pointed toward the barrier that covered the area.

Power built up around her hand as she fired a bolt of charged gravitic energy toward the ground; this caused Boris to stagger a bit on his feet before the shaking caused one of his ankle to break and sending him crashing to the ground.

"Stop her!" one of the guards shouted and aimed his rifle toward the girl and fired; his shot only went halfway before Sakura stopped it, her hand outstretched.

The shot dissipated after a few seconds and Sakura landed on the ground; she was breathing heavily but watched the guards as they began to file into the Arena.

Cruise Liner

Shiho shook her head. "No, it doesn't appear to be one, a psychic attack has its callsigns but this one... its different..." Kaoru watched before she blinked and looked over her shoulder toward shore.

Minamoto would notice that the prediction count suddenly went to 100%

Drydock

"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Boris roared as his leg snapped at an awkward angle, making a number of the people wince. Boris felt like he was being torn apart, the force of gravity tearing at his body and the immediate area...

Cruise Liner

Minamoto had never seen a 100% prediction. Only when it had finally happened did the prediction become an absolute certainty. Blues, meanwhile, struggled to his feet and looked to shore, where Kaoru was.

"...Sakura...m-my sister's over there somewhere!"

"The Prediction is at 100%. Get ready, everyone! It just became imminent!" Minamoto said, not understanding enough to make much happen in the way of solving the crisis.

The liquid crystal sensed something...something to protect. It rushed out from the deck and finally made itself known as the mass launched off of the boat and took to the air. It rearranged itself into a shape conducive to flight, and tore toward shore...easily creating a sonic boom.

Drydock

There were eighteen guards all positioned so that they'd have a clear; their rifles level with her. She looked between all of them and continued to breath, wiping some sweat from her forehead. She knew what she had to do, but she was already feeling a bit worn out and wasn't sure why.

She watched them all carefully; the moment their fingers pressed the trigger she was a blur as she jumped into the ground, all eight shots hitting a metallic sheet of metal behind her. Two of the shots bounced right back, killing two of the guards upon impact while the rest recoheated*sp* around the area and killed one spectator.

Sakura landed on the ground and swiped the feet out from under one guard and pounded her chest into his chest, caving it in and killing the indivisual instantly. She then jumped back into the air, spun around, and fired a charged gravitic shot that punched through one of the guards....

... but it didn't stop like Sakura had expected it to, the energized beam continued to travel, piercing through the cloaking field and shorting out the electrical systems. It traveled across the water, parting along the sides before impacting the cruise liner and riping a hole from port to starboard. The resulting explosion sent anyone not bracing themselves to the deck and the ship actually jumped two feet out of the water for that instant before crashing right back down.

Cruise Liner

The girls had been caught off-guard, expecting an explosion from inside the ship but not from the outside. Kaoru found herself thrown against the deck, along with Shiho, but Aoi wasn't due to her ability. The captain let out a series of curses and, right away, began to play the blame game. "You guys did this, didn't you?!" he shouted as alarms went off on the bridge, several of the crew began to shot about water pouring into the lower decks and that they needed to evacuate people.

It was chaos as the field fell, and people started fleeing for their lives from the liberated esper and from the law. However, things were going from bad to worse...

"SCREEEEEEEEEE! SCREEEEEEEEEEE!"

With the screach of a bird of prey, the crystal assaulted the guards and those who stayed to fight. Liquid metal tendrils wrapped around people as the entity started sucking out energy, much like a predator feeding on prey. Psychometry revealed who was victim and who was criminal, and the entity began to exact unrelenting and brutal vengeance...

Cruise Liner

Blues was knocked around the hardest, still reeling from the pain and slamming into a wall. He gave a pained groan. Minamoto was also knocked down, but experience taking Kaoru's psychokinetic attacks had increased his ability to take blows. He quickly moved to stand, and worked to reclaim order.

"Aoi! Start teleporting people to the deck and get them on the lifeboats. Coordinate with Shiho for this! Kaoru, keep the boat from sinking and use your psychokinesis to shield us from more hits!" Minamoto then moved to pick up Toshiro, who was beginning to stir from his blow.

Drydock

Sakura was too much in a daze to really notice this blob; she was too busy dodging shots from the guards and even a few other ESPers who were getting involved fighting against her.

All around this, the eighteen small fragments in the ground began to resonate as more ESPer like power was being thrown around. By now, the cloaking device failed entirely, revealing the illegal arena for anyone to see.

Law enforcement choppers began to arrive on scene, alerted by passerbys to the illegal activity.

"Stop her!" the owner of this arena shouted as he was trying to get the cloaking devices back online.

Cruise Liner

Another explosion ripped through the bottom of the ship, as more attacks from the shore-line had lept out at sea. Kaoru was busy try ing to keep the ship from sinking while Aoi was teleporting people by the dozens to arring car ferries. More ships were arriving by the minute, some were just tow vessels capable of carrying no more than a few people while others were large transport ships designed to carry tons of cargo.

Shiho worked to find trapped passengers and then relay the information to Aoi.

Drydock

The police came upon a crazy sight, the blob screeching and now even attacking the Espers attacking Sakura. Every attack left a person unconscious and drained of energy, even Boris was not spared. The more malicious and cruel, however, were drained until their lives faded...this creature had some sense of justice, though it wasn't necessarily what the police would have wished.

It was growing in size as well, more and more imposing the more it absorbed...

Cruise Liner

Toshiro started to awaken, and sensed what was happening more clearly. Minamoto was concerned, and started to speak.

"Just hang in there, the girls have the evacuation well in hand..." He said, trying to keep the boy from doing anything rash. Instead, he got to his feet and started to float a bit. The youth noted the relative emptiness of the ship, and realized that it was time to see Sakura. The young man flew off, before Minamoto could react, toward shore.

"Toshiro-kun, wait!" Minamoto yelled, though this was too late...

Cruise Liner

Kaoru glanced over to see Toshiro fly away; she was tempted to go but had to keep the ship up, at least until Aoi got ahold of her. "Go Koaru, we've got most of the passengers out," she said.

Kaoru nodded and flew off, much to Minamoto's disagreement.

Drydock

As Toshiro approuched he'd see quite a bit of conflict going on, including with that blob like item floating and growing. Contents from shipping containers were spilled out and ablaze, people ran around in a panic and local law enforcement tried to figure out 'who' was a good guy and 'who' was a bad guy, or whom to arrest. Amongst those running were several politicians, but they easily got away so as not to have their careers ruined.

Sakura could be seen fighting in the arena, disarming guards and knocking out fellow ESPers but it was obvious that she was reaching her limit, physically, mentally, and psychicallly. Large waves of gravitic energy pulsed outward from her body, causing nearby metallic objects to cave in one another.

Drydock

The police were forced to use lethal force, after some of the hostile actually disintegrated one of their own. Weapons discharged, psychic powers flew, and gravity warped space. Toshiro hesitated only briefly before joining the fray with a diverse range of powers.

Teleportation was used to encase assailants in metal lids, keeping them from moving. High tech weapons were teleported out of guards' hands. Psychokinesis was used to fling the hostiles aside, and even some of his own gravitic manipulations were unleashed. Hypno was utilized to even make hostiles attack each other. He fought to get to his younger sibling, tearing through Normals and Espers alike.

Oddly, the blob made no move to attack Sakura, Toshiro, or Kaoru...or any police officers.

Drydock

The fighting slowly died down; as criminals dove into the water to get away from law enforcement and Sakura. As the smoke enveloped the area brought about by the many fires that can burned, Sakura collasped onto one knee and coughed up blood, she looked around; her vision a bloody haze as she scanned the area for anyone else who might try and attack her.

High above, Kaoru floated and watched; her eyes mostly on Toshiro as she couldn't see Sakura yet, although she - like Toshiro - could feel her presence somewhere amongst the smoke.

Drydocks

Toshiro carefully approached, as Sakura looked for other foes. The blob, however, had grown to wear it couldn't readily be harmed. It seemed benevolent to Kaoru, Toshiro, and Sakura, making a sound much like a whale's song rather than the aggressive screech it entered the fray with. It had also consumed within its body as much of the technology as it could, keeping it from the hands of those retreating.

"Sakura? Are you alright?" Toshiro called out, hoping that she was able to respond...she was deaf, but her powers could detect speech, right?

Cruise Liner

The Captain was irrate, the ship heavily damaged but all the passengers saved. They'd even called in extra ships, recalling the complications of smuggled people altering plans when the one ship had sunk.

Drydock

Sakura glanced about the area; looking for new targets or anyone else wanting to harm her, as the smoke was clearing, the waves of her power bounced back revealing the presence of someone else ahead of her.

She looked up to see a boy who looked rather familiar to her but she couldn't figure it out. She couldn't, however, 'feel him out'. But as she watched him, her grav waves suddened stiffened and she fired off a series of gravitic attacks toward him in rapid succession.

Drydock

Seeing this attack coming, thankfully, Toshiro utilized the same gravitic power to shield himself from Sakura's blow. Conflicting gravitic forces worked to neutralize each other, though the local effects on the environment were particularly destructive. He attempted to call out to her again.

"Sakura, stop! I'm not your enemy, so snap out of it!"

Drydock

Sakura couldn't hear, naturally due to being deaf, but even her phychic powers weren't translating what the boy was saying for her. "Toshiro careful!" Kaoru called out and landed behind him, just in time to throw up a barrier to protect the two of them from another attack. "What's going on with her? Are you sure she's your sister?" the young girl asked.

Drydock

"Yes, but she's not acting right...she's...overloaded!" He realized as he saw something which fell into place combined with Minamoto's earlier comments. The young man guarded himself and put his hand in his pocket, with the limiter Minamoto had put in there earlier. He focused, keeping the limiter meant to protect him from overloading out of sight...until he attempted to teleport the armband around her left arm.

Kaoru blinked. "Overloaded?" she asked, unsure what the boy meant by that but not able to ask him about it before she saw him pull out the limiter that Minamoto had given him and then teleporting it out of his hands.

When the armband appeared around Sakura's arm, she looked at it fearfully and attempted to destroy it but as the limiter came online she felt the surge of power inside of her dampen and soon the outgoing waves of gravitic energy began to slow to a crawl before ceasing entirely.

The young girl staggered for a moment, looking toward the boy and - for that moment - recognized him for who he was before she collasped onto the ground.

A this moment, Aoi and Shiho appeared behind the two of them just in time ot see Sakura collapse. "What happened?" Shiho asked, looking over at Kaoru and Toshiro for answers... in the distance, Minamoto was flying in on the chopper.

Toshiro rushed over to Sakura, scooping her up. "Her power went out of control. I had to use the limiter your handler put in my pocket. Hey, wake up! Wake up, Sakura-chan!"

The blob had grown large, but made no aggressive moves. It tracked the chopped, but made no moves against it. Minamoto kept his eyes on it as he rejoined the others. He showed his identification to some police on the scene.

"The girl in the prediction...your sister, right? Shiho, can you check on her condition?" He asked, noting that she'd sustained some heavy blows. At this point, the police brought over some of the strange technologies used.

"...So they concealed themselves with this technology...please gather it up and take it back to BABEL for analysis." He said, the local police complying...not merely because this was an Esper crime, but this particular man had become respected by an entity high up in the police, namely Shiho's father.

The blob merely observed for the moment, shimmering with the same color and properties as Live Metal.
