Aquarius Star Fortress, NK-X1-09, is a modified Zodiac-Class Star Fortress operated by the First Expeditionary Fleet of the Star Army of Yamatai. It was constructed in the Koukotsu System in YE 42 and became active in YE 43.

Under the orders of First Expeditionary Fleet's Taisho Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko, in YE 42, the construction of Aquarius Star Fortress began in the Koukotsu System, one of the most populated systems in the Outer Colonies of the Yamatai Star Empire. Being the first Zodiac-Class Star Fortress to be constructed in several years it was promised to become one of the most modern and advanced Star Army Bases which would embody its namesake with aesthetically pleasing and functional aquatic embellishments. It would be a unique gem of Star Army of Yamatai design and ingenuity, fit for the title of “The Guardian of Paradise.”

Aquarius Star Fortress is set to become a plot location for Resolutions Of The Ghost, so its article will expand with added history and unique locations over time.

The highlights and important events in the history of Aquarius Star Fortress:

• The construction of Aquarius Star Fortress began in early YE 32, its finalization and completion were originally scheduled for the last quarter of the year but due to shortages caused by the Kuvexian War it was not completed until early YE 43.
• Aquarius's construction was originally ordered by Taisho Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko and it was approved by Ketsurui Yui.
• It was constructed by the Yugumo Corporation through its relationship with Ketsurui Fleet Yards.

These design modifications have been made to Aquarius Star Fortress:

• The Arms of the Zodiac-Class Star Fortress are cylindrical in shape and are designed to look like tentacles with domed transparent Zesuaium windows and have wave-like oceanic designs in their armor.
• Transparent tubes run parallel to Standard Passageways and concourses for the transit of dolphins and other sea life that is part of the base's massive internal aquarium environment network.
• Internal compartments are beautifully decorated, which is vibrant and clean with a mostly white panel paint job accented with various shades of blue and green to give a marine feeling to the interior. Murals painted by artists from Jiyuu III of deep-sea and shore scenes span walls in various compartments.
• The Internal Aquarium Environment is segregated into natural ecosystem environments capable of housing many different species from worlds across the Yamatai Star Empire.
• It includes the Improved Zodiac Light Rail System that was developed during the renovations of Gemini Star Fortress.
• Internal system modernization like the new Nodal Liquid Conduit System were included in the base's construction.
• A dome structure called 'The Bubble' has been added on the dorsal surface of the Core Section.
• A cone structure called 'The Deep' has been added on the ventral surface of the Core Section.

Aquarius Star Fortress has various NH-33M (Miniature) Sprites that perform maintenance and other tasks in underwater gear in the Internal Aquarium Environment tubes and pools. They have a tendency to make faces, hand actions, and other gestures to those who pass by. They also are known for showing up in various compartments during inopportune times, giving a dose of comic relief.

Aquarius, the PANT-IES AI and her avatar are known for their pouty and almost comical stubbornness, and temperament. She has a tendency to be playful but offensive at times with comical relief. The avatar has light blue hair and honey-gold eyes. Her appearance and personality were designed by Taisho Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko.

The Ocean Core zone, which is the most centralized bulk of the station contains the typical compartments for the Zodiac-Class Star Fortress.

Straight from ancient pre-Yamataian mythology, a massive realistic fabrication of a broken galleon in the grips a giant kraken is the fixed center point of the main transportation HUB for the Improved Zodiac Light Rail System of Aquarius Star Fortress.

Symbolizing the Star Army of Yamatai's strength to overcome the Kuvexian War, the Flag Officer's Dining Room is decorated with heavy carved wood tables with broken Kuvexian Trident weapons fused under the glossed surface of the table with the Star Army Hinomaru between the broken points. This dining room is serviced under vetted cooperation with Takeda House.

The Taisho's Office, has a modified layout and is designed to look like the wheelhouse of an ancient sailing vessel. It has a similar layout to the YSS Tokyo Command Offices.

The Bubble is a large dome-shaped build on the dorsal surface of the Ocean Core.

A carefully maintained Yamatai (Planet) environment controlled by the Nodal Liquid Conduit System. It serves as the station's greenspace and also the central nexus of the Internal Aquarium Environment. It is divided into several different climate and biological zones to allow for the existence of several different ecosystems. It includes several different integrated modular spaces for the purposes of research. Including an initiative of the Yugumo Corporation to study various new terraforming, space agriculture, and aquaculture applications.

Rumors have circulated since the station has been brought online about mermaids, specifically MerNekos. During construction members of the Yugumo Workers Federation started talking about mermaids that came from the Internal Aquariums and saved them from accidents, stole tools, and romanced those who strayed from the larger work crews. Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko says there are no mermaids on Aquarius Star Fortress, but if asked, the crew and workers will tell another story.

A secure facility for the deposit and storage of seeds and genetic profiles of fauna and flora from across the Yamatai Star Empire.

The Deep is the cone-shaped modular build extended below the Ocean Core.

A high-security laboratory and fielding facility for Ketsurui Fleet Yards for the research and testing of high-yield Aether weapons technologies. While the research being conducted is classified in this facility, their primary work is centered around a large Aether Beam weapon that is capable of delivering a focused and confined beam of aether into the core of a planet to cause a catastrophic release of energy capable of destroying the planet. The laboratory has its own cargo and storage facility.

• Prototype Aether Focused Beam Cannon - Tier 15 (Anti-Planet)

A storage and laboratory facility devoted to the study and reverse engineering of technologies captured or obtained from the Enemies of Yamatai. The facility includes several workshops where technology can be assembled and disassembled, scanned, and studied for schematics used by Fabrication Areas.

Modular expansion zones to set up on-demand laboratories, fabrication, and processing areas dominate the lower decks.
