Kyoto, Yamatai - Palace residents were shocked this morning to find the Empress of Yamatai dead this morning, apparently the result of a suicide. Samurai of the Empress' Palace were alerted when they heard a gun shot come from within the palace baths, which they were standing outside of. Ayame had apparently used her Type 27 Nekovalkyrja Service Pistol to shoot herself head, resulting in instant death.
Tsuya-Taisa, captain of the palace Samurai, notified the Emperor, who was away on business, negotiating agreements with the recently-separated Empire of Nepleslia. His Imperial Majesty has yet to release any official comment. Known for his cool exterior, he appeared today as deeply troubled and sorrowful man.
