Ayenee Prime - Capital Memorial City, a commercial hub and urban housing area built by the Pagoda no Uesureya Genetics Corporation (PNUgen) was a bustle of activity today. But, instead of the usual life seen in the city, houses sat empty, furniture lining the sides of streets waiting for one of the hundreds of moving vans to retrieve it.
At the city's core are two facilities, the PNUgen AE2 labs complex, and a three-minute drive away, the Capital Memorial Hospital, considered to be Ayenee's finest healthcare provider. Patients have been leaving all day for more crowded hospitals in Sanctum City and the Ayenee Capital City, located 80 miles to the north of CMC.
The cause of the sudden exodus is said to be conclusion of the development of the Mersina-Class starship, a robust mid-size starship designed and built by NovaCorp Shipyards of Fenyar. While the corporation has remained largely silent about its ongoing operations, it is widely suspected that PNUgen plans to move its personnel to the Mersina-class and other starships and perform their services from mobile platforms instead of fixed locations for security reasons.
Earlier this year, one of three PNUgen outposts on Ayenee Prime, PNUgen AE, was destroyed by rogue elements of the Qel'noran Industrial Sector, although it had no direct link with the Yamatai Star Empire. PNUgen AE1 was situated 20 miles south of Ayenee Capital City. Since this attack, PNUgen has been operating at an increased level of security and has slowly been downsizing its footprint on Ayenee.
The Qel'noran Industrial center continues to hold a controversial position in city affairs as it continues its attempt to monopolize the capital city's infrastructure systems such as power, water, and street-side hot dog vending.
