OOC Eucharis Discussion

Erm... Yeah. Without her IFF transponder on, it's also worth noting that the Eucharis' AA guns could well open fire on Akiashiro and Taharial, too. I mean, that's kinda what the systems is supposed to prevent. Just something to keep in mind. x_x

That would be cruel but fair, and somewhat hilarious, if Akiashiro's post was still there and I posted the Eucharis mowing her down with the AA guns for trying to approach the ship in combat with no IFF.

Sorry, Tsuguka was intending on falling back to the same location sooner rather than later. It's just that with Dirjon's little stunt and the Eucharis' shields still up, that isn't exactly turning out to be easy...

As for the "countermeasures" thing, I should probably explain Tsgoop's logic. Throwing a bunch of those electromagnetic missile-distracting countermeasures down the barrel of a mass driver as it's preparing to fire would seriously rattle and bend the magnetic rails/coils of a normal mass driver out of shape. There is no way of knowing how much different this alien technology is, of course, but yeah... It was the best option I could think of for her to try and save our buddy Nepleslian. -_-

I thought we only picked up the one shuttle that Vanderbrink docked at the bottom? Unless I missed something.

Also, not sure exactly who is where, so if someone wants to give me a rough idea of where everyone is, that would be great. One group can volunteer to be picked up by Mitsuko or Victory, that would make things clearer as well.

When I read up on the wormhole killing effects I figured, 'hey, why not?'
If something as big as what Ames is describing fires a proportionally sized harder-than-diamond slug with enough velocity to escape the planets gravity at Eucharis it'll evaporate the ship. Even the compression of air pressure from a near miss would probably bat the ship right out of the sky. That's an unfathomable amount of force at work.

But if those anti wormhole missiles cause a great enough spacial distortion its possible that the EM field would be effected to the point where the currently floating massive slug would lose its magnetic support and fall. A slug that big would cause some major damage to the magazine and loading devices if it fell down the hole it came from.

I'll be out of town for the weekend, at a convention. I'll try to post Thursday night, if I get that info/clarification. Either way, you can move Mitsuko's shuttle around as needed for the weekend, don't want to hold things up.

Which convention?

AnimeFest

It's fairly small. I go to A-Kon as well, checked out SGC this year too because one of my friends was one of the big guests and got everyone free passes. It should be fun, if not as hype as other cons.

Man, I completely forgot to check this thread for the last week or two. I wasn't getting any e-mail notices on it or status updates up top. :| Hopefully this post will get that started back up!

I think things went pretty well overall, though! Thanks for working through some of the ambiguity without me.

I'm super busy today so I figured I'd tell about Dirjon's condition. He's currently unconscious and on deaths doorstep. After being crushed by debris he's bound to have a lot of broken bones but I'll leave that up to you guys

Dirjon's armor is damaged way beyond repair but some of its parts should be salvageable. Dirjon is the type that would use the old parts to customize a new one. I was wondering:
ICly, how would he go about getting another Daisy permanently assigned to him?
OOCly, would a custom armor setup require a wiki page or approval?

He just needs to see one of the supply nekos (Victory or Mitsuko) and request one. We keep spares.

OOCly: yes, a wiki page

Also, can the shield on a Daisy rotate? It looks like it can and that would be an awesome function but I can't see any description that says whether it can or not.

I'm not sure what you're asking here.

The Daisy's zesuaium shield rests over the housing of the pulse energy weapon on the forearm. Since those are made to fire independently even while the Daisy is wielding a handheld rifle, they can rotate like small turrets. That turret-like pivot allows the shield's 3' length to be parallel or perpendicular to the forearm.

This was likely not intended in the original write-up, so it's mostly adherence to the (widely accepted) artwork which allows for this.

Note that the rotating is still done by a small turreted base; you likely won't get spinning with a great deal of motor strength. Characters have used the zesuaium shield as an impromptu club, but the 'spinning' itself likely can't be a weaponized process.
