How Much Does Star Army Cost to Run?

Star Army costs over $200 a year to run. This year alone I've spent over $350 on it. That's more than I make in two months right now. It's really starting to be a strain...right now I don't have enough to pay for our character art commissions projects, even. Not only that, there's just so much I would like to do for the site and the Star Army player community that I can't because I can't afford it (things like hiring designers/programmers for site improvements and lots of little stuff like flyers, bookmarks, and business cards to spread the word).

So far:

NO ONE has donated.
NO ONE has bought any Star Army swag from the store.
NO ONE has bought any items through our Jlist affliation program.

Bottom line: I want to keep the site free, but we need to find a way to make Star Army make a profit, or at least support itself.

I have no idea if this is still a relevant problem. Given it's about 11 years old, I would say no, its not a relevant problem.

However I do know we still do the voting system. Voting means more people because we get free advertisements. I did previously suggest Wes, that you make a "Please Vote" message appear on the bottom of the screen as an announcement once every say... hour? That way people get constantly reminded to vote. Lord, I forgot to vote for a while now. Could I get a link by chance?

So I take it upkeep is still a problem. 840 bucks a year is a lot of fucking money O.O. the minimum repeat donation is 10 dollars, I'm fairly sure you have more than 7. You're able to continue affording fancy stuff for the site, so unless you are subsidising stuff...

I'll just go vote, and is that a no on the announcement? I don't see how making a new section has anything to do with an announcement. Of course, I could just be unaccustomed to this form of website.
