NEPLAND SPACE PLOT
So yeah. It's that time. With the Shinpi right about to launch (with the other tree moving pretty solidly at last), this seems about right to announce a new plot of mine in the works/looking for PCs. It follows a new element of Violetta's ASSets among the NSN 1st DF, a group used to scout and monitor sections of Nepleslian space and border space that responds with smaller number but tactical awareness. This group is the Task Force known as "Farthest Stride".
Once she's done, it will be led by a soft-plump Nepleslian woman by the name of Julia Brisk, a Nepleslian on the up-and-up who earned her stake helping tame Nepleslian frontier space. With the orders of Admiral Violetta, she's essentially forming a group of Nepleslians from different backgrounds of different species. If you're a Jiyu, that's fine. If you're some alien who gained citizenship, that's fine. The goal of this is to mimic Rememberance Division and its original idea of small fleet-on-fleet warfare.
All characters will start out as Commanders within the Nepleslian navy, regardless of whether they're academy graduates or Nepleslian militia-turned official military. The initial ships everyone flies (for ARC 1 and 2) will be either a Hray Gunship or the tried-and-true Sword-Class Frigate. It should be noted that you will follow a logical course of progression (Hray pilots could upgrade toward a Specter for heavier combat elements or customize/earn modificatiosn for their Hray as their status warrants. Meanwhile, Sword-Class pilots are likely to progress down the path to flying more traditional carriers and the like, such as the the infamous Blackjack, the Shaika, or even the mighty Orca), so you should consider this. This is to fit the idea that certain commanders/captains learn to command certain kinds of craft, which is fitting to a stealth specialist leading a Hray, while an Ex-Fighter Pilot commands a Shaika down the line due to their background with small craft tactics.
If you're interested in starting small and fighting for your upgrades with a max of two people earning a "step-up" per arc (to ensure the entire group doesn't suddenly jump in power scale), then this is a great thread. The focus will be far different from how space combat seems to be portrayed in SARP (20 Orca for a single part of a fleet is dumb, logistic-wise, even for Nepland), with a focus on smaller, more tactic-based usage of well-placed attacks versus just mass numbers. So uh... yeh. Looking forward to seeing all you cadets out there who wanna step up and turn your Freespacer Bumpkins, Jiyu Try-Hard, and your normal NSN naval academy graduates into war heroes.
There will be many foes in the coming months for Nepleslia... ARC 1 will focus on wargames between the the Task Force... so let's hope you guys bring your dummy missiles and light-hearted PvP caps >:3 keep yer eyes peeled on this thread for future information on this soon-to-be-plot!
