RP: NSS Inquiry [NSS Inquiry] Mission One: Far From Home

Glynn had stopped shuffling about in his armor when the Elefirn inspecting his grenade launcher waved it around either playfully, or intimidatingly, or what, he couldn't tell. All he knew was that this was still a terrible situation.

"HEY, stop that! That will obliterate both you, I and everyone else within a small radius beyond recognition! Put that down!" Glynn had commanded with a coarse tone to no effect.

"Listen Native, I am speaking to you as kindly as I can under the threat of death, but you must realize that intimidation and treating us as your prisoners will get you no where. See those two over there?" Glynn nodded towards Cadence and Stein.

"Those are my gods, one command from them and I will break out of here and bring holy hell down unto this planet and transform this pisstain of a world into this galaxy's first planet sized marble, courtesy of the Democr--" He stopped mid sentence when he heard his Sergeant yell, just barely noticing his timed glance and Alec's nod back and muttered to himself.

"These guys... they're not making the situation any better... what logical reason do they-... OH!"

It had clicked, and he changed his tune.

He hoped that Glynn assumed correctly, though he was never a student of psychology he had to join the bandwagon.

"YEAH, like, holy shit! YOU should've seen what kind of kings level bullshit I had to deal with to get here! First I had to get my ass handed to me every day by instructors to the brink of passing out and having the shit get kicked right out of me on a daily for MONTHS. Then I had to travel from a nice Imperial city, only to get shot at and to have some fucking schmuck play around with MY tools like it was some fucking toy! I at least expected the decency to find someone who looks relatively competent to fuck around with that, like say, you over there, and you, and maybe that one over there too." Motioning towards the Elefirn that were around them.

"Ah but don't worry, I understand how it feels to get told that you suck, just show them that YOU are fucking better than those sacks of shit, AM I RIGHT?"
 
Tobias just sort of sat there looking around for a moment before picking up on the general idea. He shrugged as much as he could within his restraints.

"Yeah, there was this giant rude lizard person on the last ship I was stationed on, and he wasn't half as rude as you people."

He looked around more for some indication as to what to do next.

Allorow said to Tobias, "Lizard? What in the fuck is that?"

Another answered Stein, saying, "I am Vizil. We were waiting for our mast—"

"Close your whore mouth," said the same antlered creature that had shut Allorow up the first time in a quiet whisper.

Cadence whistled, turning her head towards the Elefirn that had been shutting up Allorow and Vizil and spoke.

"Good thing you didn't catch up with our friends."

"Friends?" said the Elefirn she was addressing.

Cadence went on, "Yes, friends. Friends that are going to come after all of you shortly."

Without a word, the Elefirn jutted her jaw to her right and to her left and two Elefirn on each side followed her away from the fire and towards where the Inquiry team had been dragged from. There were four Elefirn such as Vizil and Allorow that remained standing guard. Most of them seemed inquisitive, if not downright friendly.

Stein began to chuckle. "Nice one boss." He said with a toothy grin to Cadence. "That was absolutely fuckin brilliant." He added, nodding to her. "Now...lets see what else we can learn from our friendlier hosts."

He then turned to the one who had answered him the second time. "Nice to met you Vizil and Allorow. So, now that you hardass friends are gone could please finish what you were saying? You're waiting for your... masters?" Stein said guessing.

He might have been trying to glean some information, but if he could start talking with the four maybe the others could work on breaking their bonds without notice. "Who are your masters?" He asked.

Since the more assertive of the group had stepped aside, Linda felt it was time to quickly perform some test to see just how much this species understood. "Where did you learn to speak our language? Who taught it to you?" She asked the first questions simply to get one's attention and once she had it she began to speak in Yamataigowith more questions.

"What is your name and who are the others?" It was a simple question in Yamatai, but she'd have to go out of her way to answer so it likely wouldn't be a coincidence if the new species did answer it.

Though they were all still prisoners, Glynn could find a small amount of respite knowing that they weren't being monitored as closely as before and could behave relaxed now. However he believed, because their captors left so nonchalantly, that there were still more wardens around where they couldn't see. This was their planet after all.

Glynn struggled once more against the Hostile and tried to get himself free without being detected as much as he could. This could prove the best moment to escape, but of course he didn't think of acting out on his own, yet it was still better to be ready now than later in order to avoid a similar instant like last time.

He had given an inquisitive stare to their surroundings in an attempt to detect movement or any other entities while everyone else asked their questions and received their answers.

Alec let out a sigh of relief as the more hostile of their captors beat a hasty retreat. He could feel his throat starting to dry from the nonsensical rambling earlier but at the very least he didn't get his head bashed in for such personal questioning. Though he thought the team would've had a more epic escape plan but for now, this would work.

Deciding to give his voice a bit of a rest, Alec moved to work on his bindings without drawing too much attention to himself. He tried remembering everything his sister had taught him about breaking out of some ties, granted he didn't have a dead heavy suit of power armor at the time, he wriggled his armored wrists in the bindings as he watched the others talk and nodding in agreement with Stein and Linda's questioning.

An Elefirn tilted her head at Linda as she spoke Yamataigo and looked to the others around her. She was confused, it was apparent.

Allorow looked to Stein, "Our masters? You want to know about them?"

Vizil said while crossing her arms, "They're fucking vile sacks of shit."

A murmur among the Elefirn in their own language, a soft whispering one, that ended when Allorow finally spoke, one of the only to have remained quiet while the murmuring amongst the Elefirn took place.

"You don't want to meet them, I promise you that, fuck face."

"Who taught you Trade?" Cadence asked. "Your masters? The vile ones?"

An Elefirn that hadn't spoken to them yet said, "The Kuvexians." There was another bout of murmuring and Cadence looked around at her fellow squad mates.

"Can you save us from them?" Cadence asked after she had made eye contact with everyone of the team. This was an important question.

Allorow looked to those around her, then said, "Only if you take us away from this planet. Before they come."

Cadence again looked to her comrades, then to Allorow. "That we can do."

One by one, the Elefirn unbound the armored Inquiry team and Cadence looked to Linda. "Do you still have that equipment you picked up from the building in the ghost town?" Then to Allorow she asked, "Do you have any power source out here for us to charge our armor?"

"No, but we need to get to an unmanned star port of ours as soon as fucking possible!"

Cadence, again, looked around, then back to Linda and said, "How's it coming?"

Stein listened intently as the Elefirn spoke. The Kuvexian? Stein had heard that the Yamatai were at war, but it was no issue for Nepleslia... but now, this changed things.

They need someway to either jumpstart their suit's power cores or they needed to destroy them... He looked to Cadence. "We need to get going now Boss. We don't know when their friends come back." He said jutting his chin towards the friendly Elefrin.

He looked to their new friends. "Do you have any of our things? We might need to fight our way out of here." He said as he kept trying to think of a way to jumpstart the armors.
 
Hearing Stein's words, Glynn agreed that they should leave as soon a possible. Even the Elefirn around them, who were enemies moments ago, had agreed that they should leave as fast as humanly possible. Glynn guessed that they could hook up the Elefirn power armor batteries and connect them to their own, but that would take too long to fix every set of power armor even if that was a viable method he reckoned. Instead, he had another idea, one that perhaps wouldn't require much fighting, but instead A lot of running and a modified VIMP. He trudged to Stein and Cadence calmly.

"Lieutenant, Sergeant, forgive the Interruption, but if you don't mind I have thought up an idea that you may be interested in," Glynn said turning around his hostile to display it's back, and pointed towards the backpack, and then the calves of the armor.

"If I remember correctly, this hostile model has two large thrusters on it's back, and then two smaller thrusters near the calves. With your permission and some time, I think that I could tear into the hostile and set these thrusters to blow and release hot plasma through ionization over the area by the time the others are back. The estimated blast radius I believe would be an about a kilometer with the current condition of the fusion generator, but I suppose that the heat caused from the explosion could cause damage to lungs and leave powerful burns for about another half kilometer. If you wish I can write a report detailing how it works." Now Glynn waited for an answer.

It was a sketchy plan, it most likely work but it would cost an entire suit of Power Armor, after all, what else could they use?
 
Linda was unbound and she let out a heavy sigh as she tried to keep herself upright in the heavy armor that had no power. She was able to nod in response to Cadence's words and struggled some to take out the equipment. Without power, it was a difficult struggle but she managed to do it. "I have the things but I'm not certain what they are." She pulled out both the data pad as well as the device. However, her next words were not in trade but rather Yamataigo so that the Elefirn could not understand them. "I have some weapons too so I can operate outside of the armor, but we would have to destroy it afterward." She had hoped some of the team could speak Yamataigo at least so someone could understand her.

Stein looked to Glynn and nodded. "That's sounds feasible... but." A look of relazation bit him. "Wait Linda, you picked up an aether generator. We can use that to jump start our armors. After that we vent some of our fuel and rig the generator to blow. That way we keep out armors and we cause a massive explosion."

He looked to Cadence. "What do you think Boss?"

Alec froze for a moment as the Elefrin walked untied him , expecting some sort of blade or gunbarrel to placed at the back of his neck but relaxed as those notions went unfulfilled. He stood up carefully, almost half tempted to stretch out some the kinks he got from being tied for a time but remembering that his armor was still tempted to send him toppling over.

"If we do use the generator to power us up, we better hope it still has some juice to make a big enough explosion." The medic started, making sure he still had at least his medical kit with him.
 
Glynn placed his heavy hand on Alec's shoulder in the most reassuring way he could, whilst at the same time trying to blur out the gibberish Linda was speaking.

"The problem is not whether or not the explosion will be big enough, the problem is how fast you can run and how good you are with our medical supplies."

Glynn looked at his Cadence, "I am confident that I could execute the Sergeant's plan."

Silently, Glynn berated himself for not evening coming up with that idea himself, and thanked Stein for tge experience in his mind.

Cadence looked between Glynn and Stein, then to Linda. She understood fully well and nodded to herself after they had all spoken.

"We can't run fast enough to get away from the blast in these power armors. Everyone strip them and pile them up. We'll blow them all. Stein and Glynn, I want you to work together to execute the plan. Everyone else, stand guard."

Hearing her words clearly, Glynn got to work with his soon to be jury rigged explosives with a clear "Understood".

As the Demolitions specialist, it was now his Job to quickly set up all of the Power armor to blow as fast as he could and make sure that no one got hurt. Luckily for Glynn, he was sure that Stein had the same goals as he did, and with his help they could get this all done twice as fast.

"Well first things first, Sergeant" Glynn began, speaking to Stein " It is my professional opinion that anyone who cannot help with the actual priming of the explosives should stay away as as far as possible after they deliver their power armor. Just to ensure their safety and our own in the case the yield of the explosion exceeds my exceptions for any reason.".

Glynn got out, and pushed down his hostile down with the backside up, the first thing he needed to do was cut inside the hostile so that he can get his hands to the thrusters. He needed something strong to pierce and cut through it, he looked at the Elefirn power Armor. They could probably cut into the armor better than he could, but Glynn wasn't in the position to command any of them. Instead he took out his tools.

"Alright, Sergeant, we're going to be cutting the armor, here... and here, be careful not to cut too deeply though as we don't want to damage the thruster's ionizer. Everyone else, begin piling up your Power Armor here when Stein Calls you."

With that, Glynn began tearing his way into the armor and began fiddling with the Hostile's components, and set them to blow on a timer, and asked Stein one question.

"How long are we going to want the countdown to be?"

Linda took a moment to listen to the plans and sighed, it was a bit of a waste to leave all the armor, but without power, it was just going to slow them down and tire them out to try and move while still inside them. Realizing they were more trouble than they were worth at this point, blowing them up really might have been the best choice, so the IPG operator stepped out of the heavy power armor. She then removed the but pack and turned it into a courier bag for herself and strapped on her equipment.

At her right hip was a .45 Compact, her left calf held an M01A knife, and in her arms in a sling was a Ze-ZSMG-02b. She was fully ready for combat outside of her armor as a precaution, but it looked like it would com in handy.

She moved her armor towards the pile and ten turned to Cadence "Since things turned out like this, do you want me to scout up ahead and keep a look out?"

Stein sighed and removed his armor, popping the latches. He pulled his combat axe from its place on the armor, and moved to help with the makeshift bomb. "Alright! You heard the Boss. Out of armor and start piling up. Once you are out, get moving! Start heading towards the spaceport with our new friends. Once we finish up here we will catch up." Stein ordered.

He looked back to Glynn. "I think trying to set up a tripwire would be optimal if possible. But I would give us a 60 second timer if a trip wire is unfeasible." He replied.

He looked to Cadence and gave her a small, reassuring smile. "Get going Boss. I'll be done soon."

Cadence looked to Vizil and then Linda. "You two go ahead to this space port." To Stein and Glynn she nodded, "You two are doing great."

Turning to those getting out of their power armor, Cadence said, "We'll stick right behind." She got out of her own, strapped her guns into slings and holstered them similar to the way Linda had done it for her own body. She looked up to see everyone else out and ready and looked to Allorow.

"Mind escorting us?"

The Elefirn began bounding away and Cadence ushered those that needed to get out of the clearing to do so soon with a wave of her hands and by speaking out clearly, but not so loud to be overheard.

"Go, go, go!"

Alec popped his suit's seals and stepped out, grabbing what supplies he could carry and clipping the medikit to one of his uniform's belt loops. He stepped away, letting Glynn do rig his suit for one hell of an explosion. Checking his gear one last time, he silently gave the okay symbol to Cadence before nodding to Stein and Glynn.

And with that, he set off after the Elefirn and towards the spaceport.
