Some Notes on Review of Setting Submissions

There's been some debate lately over the process of submitting items to be part of the Star Army lore, so I want to take a quick moment to clarify some points:
  1. Submissions should not be approved unless they meet the Submission Rules. Reviewers should look at those and also use the instructions and checklist provided in the Guide to Submission Review. It is strongly preferred that reviewers post the checklist in the actual approval thread where everyone can see it. As a submitter if your reviewer doesn't use the checklist, you should ask for them to do that because canon status of submissions which are approved without the checklist posted in the thread can be easily pulled for up to 3 months after approval.
  2. Since at least 2011, using the common template for your submission is in the rules. It's okay to slightly modify the template to add more details but the outline of the page should be generally recognizable as the standard template for the ship/character/gun/etc.
  3. Submission reviewers should avoid being a reviewer on their own stuff or reviewing things where their impartiality is likely to be called into question.
  4. OOC Notes sections at the bottom of articles are going to be mandatory from now on. They need to include:
    • Art credits
    • Who wrote the article
    • When the article was approved and by whom (preferably with a link).
