"Woody" went from building airfields and hospitals in World War II to building and maintaining Chief Joseph Dam in nearby Bridgeport, Wash., as part of the Army Corps of Engineers. In retirement, he enjoyed golf -- including building clubs for himself and others -- cooking, seeing his family, maintaining his land and light construction.

Woody is survived by his children from his first and second marriages, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and an occasional barn cat.

He was honest, stubborn and upfront about both. It made him troublesome for friend and family alike -- and all the more loved for it.

    Rest, Grandpa. Hooah.
Today, W said to me, "Thanks, daddy." I might have shed a couple tears of happiness and pride.

No. I got six hours sleep in, which is better than the five I got the night before. Now it's back to the station.
Mobile only for a spell. K is sleeping off some of her cold, machine in bedroom.

Yukari does have a very efficient four-stroke.

Thanks for the heads up. Heh.
Happy birthday. I hope you have a good time and your kids and mew mews are healthy. You're one of the nicest, reasonable people on SARP I know.

Back. Quite an experience. My bit was 28.5 miles. I feel good, though sore.

Good jaaarb! Distance running is tough, I'm surprised my dad still has knees after almost 30 marathons.

The athletes and kids at the end made it worth it, and it was a lot of fun. Saw parts of the state I'd never see.
FYI, before I forget: Mostly out T-F. Doing across-state torch run for Special Olympics. Will try to check in between shifts.
