Uso would shuffle into the briefing room, box of popcorn in hand.
Vier would open her mouth to speak, and Uso would just hold up her other hand, "Nope, Not running things. Talk to Jack."
Vier would merely wait, while Uso took her seat, letting the rest of S6's forward group file in before speaking up.
"Our diplomatic target is a group that has identified itself as the Trust. Their ships were present during the combat action to destroy the MegaMishhu breeding grounds late last year.
I have already arranged for initial contact. And they have provided an instructional video on their history.
----
The lights would dim, and the video started with a tasteful san-sarif title card:
"The Medecia-Eddenburg Memorial Trust."
This was followed shortly by a series of images showing titans of industry through the ages, the early financiers wearing their flowing robes, the oil barons of the industrial era in suits, the modern high powered shark in a suit, and the future-looking tech guru comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt.
"Through mastery of technology, strategic partnerships, and marrages, Geffory Medecia-Eddenburg had amassased a fortune several times larger than any in history.
To ensure his will was carried out long after his death, Geffory entrusted his fortune not to his family, but to his lawfirm.
For several generations, the Medecia-Eddenburg Memorial Trust has acted as caretaker for the Geffory Medecia-Eddenburg estate. The entrusted wealth has been reinvested into various economic sectors, with a reasonable amount being extracted for the maintenance of the Medecia-Eddenburg family.
The majority of his decendents now live in his estate on Nubes."
The image would turn to what looked like a verdant world, with a single circular patch carved out of the oppressively massive jungle that covered the landmasses. The large city filled with high rise structures, men and women in sleek, glossy-black power armors flying between restaurants, stores, and living spaces that were held high above the ground.
"Nubes provides a high degree of sophistication in its software offerings... Electronics... advanced material processing..."
The images on the screen would cycle through, showing various fast-acting software, advanced electronics creation, scientists working on something, until finally it showed an image of a moon being split in half by a missile strike,
"And advanced weapons technology."
The images would switch again, showing the planet of Nubes once more, along with dozens of battleship-sized craft with thick armored plates along the side.
"Though the Trust is largely self-sufficent. We are always interested in arms procurement, and in reciprical trade."
----
"Long range observation of their world indicates they have a large number of warships in orbit, though only one city on the planet. There appears to be a large amount of vegetation, and no real human pretense outside of the shanty towns surrounding the main city.
They have agreed to allow a diplomatic party to land in their city for a face to face talk.
Also, Jack will be determining operational objectives and deployments from here on out."
