The Aeon exited the starbase her systems at 100% but her paint scheme marked with large patches of primer from the panels that had to be removed for repairs. Once released from the bay Katae flew the ship to the coordinates to rendezvous with the rest of the squadron.

As she slowed the gunship Katae reviewed their orders. She linked with Eternity to decrypt the message. Katae was still trying to get used to the new security features that she gained with her new body.

After reading it she picked up the handset on her station, dialed the ship wide channel.

"The following personnel need to report to the Wardroom immediately:
Kahen Yani-Nitô Juni, Yamamoto-Heisho, Stamoules-Hei, and the Infantry Squad. Briefing will commence in five minutes. Ise-Taisa out." she said then hung up the handset.

Newly arrived on the ship and in somewhat high spirits Araan patched in just in time to hear the call come over the ship's announcement channel, his eyes adjusted to the light for a moment, when had he fallen asleep? Reaching down to grab a few items out of his rucksack he placed his patches on his uniform before making his way to the wardroom, as designated. Upon arrival he could see that he had easily beaten some of the others there, but that was the way he liked things some times, first gun in, last one out. But while this thought popped into his mind, he realized he would probably be hazed for this later.

New gun in the Infantry and already appearing ahead of his squadron mates, how would he come off? Then again, why did he care, his act was simply doing his service and following the orders of their commanding officer.

He tried, though unsuccessfully to hide a yawn under his breath.

Trowa heard the Taisa’s broadcast and put the knife he had been fiddling with away. “Just when I get a moment to just sit and do nothing.” Muttered the pilot, though truthfully he had just been complaining that things were rather boring at the moment and he wished there was something he could blow up. He headed quickly to the wardroom pausing just a moment outside the door to readjust the knife he just put away behind his back so that it was hidden under his shirt collar.

He entered the wardroom and bowed to the Taisa. “Good day, Ma’am. How is your new body treating you? If you don’t mind me saying, you’re a lot easier on the eyes then you were before.” Trowa grinned with that Nepleslian grin he was so fond of flashing when he was talking out his arse. The pilot took a seat in the corner against the wall before turning to the other man in the room and nodded his greetings. “I don’t think we have been introduced. Names Trowa Yamamoto, but you can skip the Yamamoto part as it takes to longer to say than my attention span.”

"Araan Vis'Thraugh, Sapling." The infantryman said with a sardonic chuckle as he looked over to the man.

"Yamamoto, eh? I think I had a cousin or two who were Yamamoto, though it's hard to recall those you rarely ever saw." The former Nepleslian continued as he looked on to the man, standing to full height and brushing strands of hair that had fallen forward out of his face.

Giving the man a thorough glance over, Araan was satisfied with his decisions on the man. Nepleslian, pilot, probably trained in close-quarters-combat, judging of course by his build and accent.

Saki was just in mess enjoying a nice bowl of pudding and showing everyone her fancy new jacker. She was not on duty so she though it would be all right to wear it over her Type 22 bodysuit. She was also happy her new NH-33 body was working just fine. She actually did not see much difference from old one. Everything was either the same or better.

She was just abotu finished when she received the message from Taisa. She wondered for a while if she should go change, but it seemed Taisa want them all there now and she did not want to make Taisa wait. She could also leave her new Legend Jacket somewhere, but she did not want to leave something that costs year of pay lie somewhere. In the end she just shrugged and went along with wearing it. She made sure it had had all the patches and Hinomaru anyway. Plus it was same jacket Luca Pavone wears and he was hero so it should be okay.

Happy with her reasoning Saki soon reached the wardroom and entered. There were already two men inside and she did not know any of them. Since one of them was higher rank then her she bowed and stood aside waiting for others.

"Santo Hei Arai Saki," she introduced herself. "Pleased to be of service."

Trowa smiled at the man. “Actually, the Yamamoto is from my father’s side, who is a Yamataian. My mother is Nepleslian.” He looked the man up and down with his real eye. “Your Nepleslian too aren’t you? I can tell, only a Nepleslian can be that ugly.” Trowa laughed. “After this meeting is over, if we’re not flying off somewhere to safe the galaxy, what say me and you open a bottle of 12 year Nepleslian whiskey I’ve got and swap a few war stories, eh?”

Santo Hei Arai Saki, she introduced herself. Pleased to be of service.

It took Trowa a moment to realize that he was the highest ranking person in the room. “Well I’ll be fethed...” Trowa said as he stood and returned the bow. “Nitô Heisho Trowa Yamamoto.” He replied. “But let’s skip the formalities and go straight to the drinks.” He added with that Nepleslian grin he loved to flash to pretty girls. He glanced from Saki to Araan. “Two new crewmembers. Welcome to the Aeon. Are there more of you ‘fresh meat’, I mean new recruits that I should know about?”

“Your Nepleslian too aren’t you? I can tell, only a Nepleslian can be that ugly.”

Araan actually caught himself laughing at this statement, finding it humorous that the man immediately called him out for what he was, but hadn't seen the signs of an altered body. Focusing for a moment he would find himself being propelled slightly upwards, and while this function of his new body was still a little hard to control, it ought to have served it's purpose. And within a minute he lowered himself back down to the ground, rolling his shoulders back.

"Nepleslian at birth, got a bit shot up and wouldn't have survived the surgeries and augmentations that would have been proposed, signed a Yamatai Military Contract and got a new chassis." He said, attempting to sound nonchalant about his tired past.

"Though that drink does sound good sometime." He continued before he heard the new arrival speak up.

"Santo Hei Arai Saki," she introduced herself. "Pleased to be of service."

At this he turned to face her, giving her a small wave of the hand.

"Vis'thraugh, Araan." He said as he lowered his hand, eying her speculatively for a moment before he chuckled at Trowa's response.

"No, I don't think we've got much more in the way of new-blood, at least I haven't seen any more yet."

Yoshiro got up from his bed in his quarters to shower and put on his duty uniform as he got the message for a briefing from the Taisa. After putting on his uniform, making sure that his patches were on the right areas and putting on his sidearm he headed toward the wardroom. He combed his hair as it was messy and improper looking on the way to the wardroom. He stopped by the mess hall to grab a bite to eat and headed back toward his destination.

He arrived at the wardroom and walked in. He saw several people talking to each other. He recogonized Saki and went over to say hello. "Hey Arai-hei. Who are your friends here?" Yoshiro asked.

Katae walked into the Wardroom, she went over to the buffet area and got herself a cup of coffee and walked over to the main table.

She took a seat at the head of the table and looked around, taking note of who was present. She took a sip of her coffee and sent a mental command to Eternity.

The sector map appeared with a line pointing to a star system just on the edge of the sector.

"We are currently traveling to a point to the galactic south east of UX-29. This system has been tentatively identified as AX-02. Our mission is to investigate the system. Sensor probes have detected indications of electromagnetic activity. It could be natural or it could be artificial. Its close enough to enemy held areas that we will proceed with the belief that the system is a possible enemy held area.

Long range scans have identified at least two planetary bodies in the system. "

"Excuse me Ise-Taisa," Eternity interrupted manifesting in a volumetric image. "I am receiving new data from the PANTHEON eye probe that has entered the system.

There are energy signatures on the second world. They are consistent with those of the NMX."

"Okay, this mission has just changed. While we still need to explore the system, we need to find out what the NMX presence on that world is about.

Infantry suit up, recon mission, but pack heavy. I am also sending a Science team to the surface as well. The teams will work in concert initially.

Questions?"

Yoshiro bowed low to the Taisa and stood up. "Taisa, is this going to be a stealth mission or are we just to escort the science team? Do we know the exact make up of forces that the NMX have as well?" He asked and waited respectfully for the answer. Introductions will have to wait. I just hope that we don't have heavy combat this time. he thought to himself.

Araan gave a quick mental command to Eternity, a simple request for the directions to the armory and the Mindy Bay. When the information was passed on to him he gave a bow to Ise-Taisa and made his way out of the wardroom, immediately heading down to the Mindy Bay to retrieve his suit. Practice with these suits was always something he had enjoyed, and now he got to prove his mettle on the combat field. Though he stopped at the question another Santô Hei, Tanaka, had presented to the Taisa. At his question he balked for a moment before responding, first with a query to Eternity for the soldier's name. He waited a moment for her response before he spoke, though possibly out of line.

"Tanaka-Hei, the Taisa requested we pack heavy even for a recon mission, I'd assume we're to be combat ready at all times. This escort could very well turn into a massive firefight if the NMX detect our presence and present us with a front. But as infantrymen we should always be combat ready." He told the man, his voice stern, a shift of pace from how he was feeling just a few hours ago.

"We may be part of an expeditionary fleet, but our job is to protect the people on board or set on away-teams." He said calmly, before exiting the wardroom in full.

Winding his way through the halls he found himself first thinking about the mindsets he'd witnessed from his crewmates so far and then wondering more and more about the NMX threat, while he had been educated on their premise and the speculated reasoning for the current war, he wanted more information on what caused them to tick and how to effectively take down any of their troops. "Eternity, can you parse the information for me, pertaining specifically to the combat effectiveness and the strategic weak-points of our enemy's most common combatant forms?" He asked politely before he realized he had walked down into the bay already.

As he arrived he found himself searching through the bay for the different specs and weapon loadouts that the various Mindy M2-(2-3A?) models were set to handle. Finding himself less than satisfied with either of the basic payouts He requested a few swap-outs from the "Balanced Model", removal of the teleportation module and replacement with a Weapon Storage Unit, removal of the Right Shoulder Weapon Mount, to be replaced with a Ke-M2-W2906 Shoulder-Fired Missile Pod, and a change from the leg's counter-measure pod to the Ke-M2-W3002 Leg NSB Launchers. A little more bang for his buck, he figured. Parsing this command to the ship's MEGAMI he found himself sorting through the various armors that hung in their respective bays until he found the one labeled with his own name, 'Vis'thraugh, Araan', currently undergoing the minor swaps he requested, at this he visibly preened as he reached a hand up to remove the helmet from his Mindy when the machine rattled itself to a halt, having attached the specified equipment.

Removing his belt and rank patches he set them into a small interior locker beside his armor's bay, before finalizing his removal of the armor's helmet, watching as the torso slid open, then as the rest of the aperture began to open up, revealing it's soft flesh-core, to which he gently stepped forward, turning on the ball of his foot before sliding it down into the boot. Bringing the next foot to match and relaxing back into the armor he waited for it to seal before he reached down and grabbed the helmet, holding it under the right arm as he moved to retrieve his weapon he would place it in the Weapons Storage Unit at his back, as well as asking Eternity where he might, if allowed, find a Ke-M2-W2901 Aether Beam Saber-Rifle in the case of close-quarters-combat.

Wardroom

Athena sat tentatively after arriving a few seconds as Ise started speaking. Bowing a tad deeper as she came in, she listened as she heard the brief. Once it was over, she stood up quickly and proceeded towards the the armor bay. She had been busy trying to familiarize herself with the ship's medical bay, she really had not had time get her MCAS adjusted to herself properly.

But the proper loadout was what was important right now. The first thing she did when she got to the bay was look at what was available on the ship.

Trowa brought up a map on his cybernetic eye and reviewed to route they were traveling and the location of their destination. He frowned and brought up another map of the surrounding systems. “Ma’am, I may be way off my rocker, but isn’t UX-29 along the main space lane to one of the SMX main bases? That’s pretty deep into enemy space. I would venture to say that it is a very good bet that there will be enemy forces there. Not to mention that any activity on our part could get those buggers all worked up and dispatch a good sized force to put a hurt’n on us.” Trowa paused a moment then flashed a cocky grin. “Not that me and my girl Aeon couldn’t handle it, I just want to know what to expect.”

Makoto and Takamori had sat furthest away from Ise-taisa, as one of the last ones to arrive. "Taisa, two questions. Who leads the infantry squad? We've received no word on Oshiro-juni and I haven't seen Tsubei-heisho around recently. Second... who was it who just left?" Takamori asked, seeing a strange looking person leave the room.

----------

The older Makoto sat silently and watched the Nepleslian leave in the middle of a briefing. While Nepleslians in the Star Army weren't unheard of, Makoto had not heard of anyone being assigned to Aeon. And what a Nepleslian was doing with his sudden departure, besides showing great disrespect to everyone in the room, was unknown to Makoto.

He turned his attention to the rest of the crew, seeing some of them for the first time. By all that was holy, an Elysian! Few and far between were those. What she was responsible for, Makoto was unsure. Otherwise, a mix of Yamataian and Neko. Scarface-kun and Arai-san, he knew from Siren. The pilot, if anything, looked less like a Star Army soldier and more like a Nepleslian.

"I probably left that brief a little too early." Araan whispered to himself as he sorted through the systems of his Mindy.

"Eternity, can you patch me in that I could hear the rest of the conversation in the Wardroom." He asked the ship's MEGAMI while thinking again to himself. "I've got to temper my patience a bit, I know I've never been one to sit around for a Q and A round, but this isn't school anymore, this is The Star Army of Yamatai."

As he cursed himself for his impatience he realized, that to the others, he must have seemed rude, or even standoffish when he did this.

"Well, the least I can do is learn from my mistakes." He murmured.

While she listened to others, Saki checked with Eternity to look at Aeon's armoury. She sweared for herslef seeing that there were still not Daisy suits on board. So it will be Mindy again. Saki was going over equipment she would like to take in her head while others were asking questions. She even gave one very very long look of awe at the Elysian in medical uniform that entered. She heard of her, but it was first time seein one. Those wings were very... angelical.

When last persona asked her question, Saki looked at Taisa and had question of her own. "Umm, are we free to choose out equipment?" She asked. Easy question to put in midst of all those other question. She was not really interested who will lead, she was happy with Arkase being out. It would be nice if Kim-heisho lead them againg or maybe it will be Trowa, the nepleslian starship operator. He had the rank after all.

Kyoka entered the armor bay in a muddle. Her volumetrics, suffice to say, were not projecting uniform but something akin to a more pajama-like appearance. She clearly looked frazzled, and a tiny bit tired. By the time she reached Saki, however, she had managed to turn her display back to the uniform, at least.

"Hello, Saki. . ." She mumbled unceremoniously, clearly not bothering with the honorifics. "Whaddid I miss? I slept in and missed everything. . ."

Katae could not believe that some of the new soldiers walked out before the briefing was concluded. She sent instructions to Eternity to be relayed to all personnel.

The next time someone walks out of a mission briefing before being dismissed. They will find themselves demoted, and assigned the task of cleaning the between hull spaces and not go on the mission. Ise-Taisa.
appeared on every person on the Aeon's communicator and any visible screen.

"Alpha Team, the science one is going to consist of Kahen Yani, Shina Kim, Gustav, Josea. Kahen-Juni will be in charge of that group.

Oshiro-Juni has been transferred off the Aeon to recover from his physical and mental injures.

Bravo Team, Tsubei Kyoka, first you are hereby promoted to Ittô Heisho, you are now the Infantry Squad leader, they report to you.

The Teams will deploy together, but once you engage the enemy the Science team will proceed on their mission to determine the nature of this facility, and what the NMX are doing.

Bravo Team, your responsible for keeping the NMX off Alpha teams back.

Overall mission authority resides with Kahen-Juni as ranking member.

We will be deploying a VCMAD-Aerial as we descend to provide telemetry and visual data.

Report to the Power Armor bay. Suit up and Infantry get your load out approved by the Squad Leader.

Dismissed." Katae said, then turned and left the wardroom.

Both Makoto and Takamori had stood when the Taisa had done so and bowed as she left the Wardroom. They both looked to Tsubei-heisho, determined not to repeat the same mistakes that their comrades had committed.

Trowa winced as he read the message the Taisa sent out. “Ouch.” He could sympathies somewhat with the new guys. They were eager to go and prove themselves but that didn’t excuse their behavior. Being new and inexperienced was one thing, but this. Well, one thing was for sure, they would never make that mistake again.

When the briefing was properly over, the Nepleslian pilot headed for the bridge. Though the Taisa hadn’t issued him specific orders as to his part in this mission, an oversight in light of the rookies’ incident, Trowa felt it wise to head to his normally assigned station until otherwise informed.
