Mevar, Surface - Fort Mevar
Pavel - along with the three rookies he'd selected earlier - took a moment to catch their respective breaths behind the relative safety of a particularly-large cluster of boulders; Tsukiko-Hei, for whatever reason, had responded to the Medic's query by simply dashing off in the direction of the aforementioned boulders (with absolutely
no warning beforehand) - and had thus (inadvertently) landed the ad-hoc group in its current predicament.
Specifically, the predicament that resulted from being pinned down by the
very accurate fire emanating from two tripod-mounted
Type 30B Machine Guns stationed in the entrance of (ironically enough) the very hangar Pavel and the others were supposed to be assaulting.
The Kodian peaked out to the left of the aforementioned rocks - only to
immediately regret doing so as, in the split-second his PA's head was exposed, his suit's shields flared from the impacts of multiple 35mm rounds.
Chert![Damn!]...there must exist some solution that would allow for us to accomplish our objective of capturing this storage installation without suffering casualties inflicted by those proklyal[cursed] gunners. Furthermore, none of our team's members - myself included - had the sagacity to ascertain the distance that exists between this location and the facility itself for the purposes of teleportation, ergo such a tactic is denied to us - for without precise jump coordinates, one could all too easily materialize themselves on the opposing side of the hangar, or worse yet within the aforementioned structure's wall.........
Pavel's self-deliberations regarding his (admittedly poor) knowledge of combat tactics trailed off as he vaguely remembered something he'd caught a glimpse of during his
incredibly brief attempt at reconnaissance - only to resume seconds later as another glance (along with the follow-up burst of 35mm rounds) confirmed his suspicions.
Ah, otlichno![excellent!] An area of weakness such as this one would most likely have an extremely large chance of being vulnerable to infectoi-correction, an assault
from the efforts of our forces; additionally, barring any unexpected opponents that exist within the objective itself, Kokoro-Hei and Masao-Hei should encounter little to no difficulty in "eliminating" the two operators that current man the two machine-guns. All that remains is to distract said operators, however, therein lies the last known barrier to successfully completing our task - for risking the chance of detonating the facility's vast amounts of ammunition would be foolhardy at best, yet there exists no other alternative that would sufficiently draw their attention, unless... The Medic's thoughts trailed yet again as it occurred to him that there indeed
was a way of distracting the gunners.
Roughly a minute after arriving at the rocks, the group's single Ursoid member had, for all intents and purposes, figured everything out regarding their plan of attack - which, crazily enough, was fairly simple. Pavel and Tsukiko-Hei would provide a diversion so that Kokoro-Hei and Masao-Hei could (using their PA's
teleportation units) teleport over to where the (hopefully-distracted) DAISYs were located, dispatch them, and infiltrate the hangar before any of the defenders realized what was happening. Upon finishing his explanation of this, Pavel received a...variety of responses, to put it mildly; after assuaging the numerous questions of Kokoro-Hei, everyone was ready to go. The Medic smiled -
This endeavor ought to be of extraordinary interest - then, with a tone that belied just how nervous he was, spoke a single word over the team's communications channel. "Go."
As the Medic said this, the small timer located in each corner of each strike member's HUD began counting upwards from T = 000.0000s.

With a silence seemingly at odds with its massively oversized bulk, a lone MCAS bolted upwards a dozen or so meters - then, as the aforementioned machine-gunners (equipped, similar to their door-guarding teammates, in the viridescent alloys of the DAISY II) began to frantically open fire on the frightening large, frighteningly close, and frighteningly
unknown PA that had appeared before them, Pavel opened fire with the HELGA's gargantuan shoulder-mounted Ke-M10-W3700 Aether Shock Arrays.
Said Arrays then proceeded to cause an
enormous plume of dirt, rock, and semi-incinerated vegetation as they began carving a (virtual, thankfully) trench into the surface of Mevar - for instead of targeting the gun emplacements themselves, Pavel had, for reasons unknown, opted to settle for annihilating the ground that lay about ten meters in front of the hangar's entrance and although the Kodian had (seemingly) missed, the operators of those emplacements, however, wouldn't exactly be emerging unscathed - as while they weren't "terminated" by the Aetheric beams themselves, the pressure wave resulting was more then enough to send the Type 30B Machine Guns and M6-2a DAISY II PAs tumbling like bowling pins.
Pausing for a brief nanosecond in order to switch capacitors, the Shock Arrays of the MCAS - barrels now glowing a dull, ruddy orange from thermal buildup - continued firing as the HELGA-clad Medic chose to target the same exact area as before, essentially widening (and deepening) the "trench" created by the "first" beam; the results from this action, of course, were almost exactly the same as before - a large plume of dirt and rock erupted in the wake of the beam produced by the Arrays, rendering any attempts at observing the rest of the strike force hidden behind the cluster of rocks nigh-impossible.
Amid the "smokescreen" provided by their Ursoid squadmate, Santô Heis Eira Masao and Sakurai Kokoro activated the teleportation modules equipped on their M2-3a Mindys; with a shockwave of energy (camouflaged almost perfectly by the aforementioned cover), the two seemingly disappeared as their material forms suddenly became rather immaterial.
Pavel smiled as, with an almost-imperceptible flicker, the Arrays switched to their
third (and final) set of capacitors.
Thus far, my hastily-improvised plan of assault seems to be functioning with an astonishingly-high level of successs; however, having thought that, future events will probably not occur in a manner as orderly as those that have taken place prior to this moment...
