To Origin Industry Representatives,

The Abwehran Star Empire has recently been upgrading and expanding our Space Fleet over the past three standard years following first contact with the Yamatai Star Empire. Until now, we have been solely relying upon Corporations with in our own borders. In order to promote our economy and bring in foreign corporations, Her Majesty, Empress Bertina Rosenthal of the Abwehran Star Empire, would like to offer Origin Industries rights to design and manufacture warships and support vessels for the Imperial Weltraumflotte. Because this is our first time contacting you, we would like to send a representative of our government to meet with representatives of your Company to discuss our future together. If you would agree to this meeting, we will send the HMS Journeyman to your Headquarters or a meeting place of your choosing.

To Fraulein Aerin Tatst,

We would like to thank you for your timely response on this matter and are willing to send one of our representatives to Dawn Station. We will send the HMS Journeyman to the designated coordinates as soon as we have gathered the appropriate individuals for our business. We would like you to expect a Negotiator, an Engineering Analyst, and a Military Liaison to arrive on board the small transport, HMS Journeyman. The vessels crew would consist of a pilot, co-pilot, and a small guard unit of four Marines. All military personnel would stay on the transport while on duty and will be subject to any special requirements you deem necessary. Please expect the HMS Journeyman in approximately three standard days.

We of the Abwehran Star Empire look forward to doing business with Origin Industries and wish you a prosperous future.

To Jonas Hammerstein, From Origin Industries

Thank you for agreeing to meet us at our headquarters. We look forward to meeting your representatives, and will have no trouble catering to their wishes, however, Dawn station is very new, and still under construction, so access to certain areas will be restricted. We will gladly await the Journeyman's arrival, and are preparing for them as I write. We would like to know if there are any special environmental conditions we can set to provide for the comfort of your people. It's just our way of showing hospitality at the beginning of what will hopefully be a great relationship.

Thank you for choosing Origin out of all the companies in the universe, and we will see your representatives soon.

Aerin Tatst
CEO,
Origin Industries.

HMS Journeyman
AF 260, 1st Quarter, Seventh Month, Twelfth Day

About three days, or one and a half Abwehrans days, later, Dawn Station would detect a fold signature about 30 light minutes from its position. This would signify the arrival of a Fresha-class Small Transport into their area of control. The single vessel, while called a small transport, was about the size of naval corvette and completely unarmed. Following a zero-zero intercept on the large station under-construction, the Journeyman was merely coasting from the excess velocity of leaving hyperspace.

"Whew, that's quite an impressive sight...even if it's still under construction," the goggled brunette at the helm whistled appreciatively.

"Fraulein Meyer," an ashen-skinned woman beside the helmswoman with raven-black hair replied as she adjusted her own goggles. "A MOSS still beats this thing hands down, even with their more advanced tech."

"Um...pardon me Chief, but aren't those stations being put to pasture as soon as the new outposts are complete?"

"Yeah, but this spoke in space still doesn't impress me," the Warrant Officer and Transport Captain replied to her helmswoman. This time, the enlisted woman kept silent as she looked to the universe outside her view port and shrugged helplessly. Snorting in amusement, Oberstabsfeldwebel Luise Hoffman opened up an audio channel to Dawn Station using the Subspace Comm.

HMS Journeyman said:
"Dawn Station Control, this is the HMS Journeyman out of the Himmel System. We are carrying a Delegation from the Abwehran Star Empire on business with Origin Industries," a voice of cool soprano an heavily accented Trade (Nepleslian) began. "We request permission to dock and a guidance beacon on assigned dock. Over."

"Now we just wait for the fine Station Master to provide us with clearance," the Warrant Officer replied as she leaned back in her acceleration couch, leaving her subordinate to sighing quietly.

Within a few moments came a reply from the dawn station control, Inviting the delegation to land:

HMS Journeyman, This is Dawn Station Control. You are Cleared for landing in Drydock 24 of Sector one. Guidance beacon is being beamed to you now. Please proceed with caution, as construction in the area is quite active. We welcome you to Dawn Station and hope you enjoy your stay.

A small square on one of the four arms lit up, flashing a code that coincided with the beacon, giving them a visual clue to go along with their electronic instructions.

Inside the drydock, A lime green Advent hovercarfollowed by two Origin-schemed Ocelot Hovercars arrived to get ready and greet the Journeyman. Representatives dismounted their vehicles, to watch the foreign vessel come in. One notable representative was a minuscule black-haired woman wearing a modified Uniform, whom had been driving the Advent.

"Well, that's that," the Warrant Officer muttered as she nodded to the pilot. "You have the beacon?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Then take us in, Fraulein Hoffman. And don't scratch anything on the way in...that's the easiest way to piss a wog off." the Warrant Officer replied as she pulled up the transceiver of the vessels internal communication system. "Now here this, now here this. In a couple of hours, we will dock with Dawn Station. All negotiators and security personnel, please stand-by in the Lounge until we have docked," the transport commander stated before hanging the comm. back in its hook-ups.

HMS Journeyman said:
Thank you, Dawn Station Control. ETA is approximately two hours from currently position at our maximum speed of 18% of light speed. HMS Journeyman, over and out.

***********************
Two hours later

Slowly, the Journeyman entered the dock under the tractors of Dawn Station, settling into its docking clamps with ease. It wasn't a very impressive vessel to look at, but it was supposed to be impressive either. As soon as the ship was secured, the large airlock of the ship was opened and a ramp extended to meet the deck floor. The first to come out were four individuals and all of them looked menacing.

Wearing the green panels of the Weltraumflotte Marine Corp, the smallest one of the team only reached 5'8" and happened to be the only female of the group. With her bright blue eyes covered by dark goggles to protect her from the stations bright lights, she moved off to the right side with her straight, chin-length, black hair flowing slightly as she moved. The other three individuals range from 6'5" to nearly 7' in height with what would look like a body-builders structure compared to their commander's toned build. Only one of them wore goggles like the female, but the most noticeable feature they had was that they had four arms compared to the woman's two. None of them carried weapons except for the large pistols at their hips.

The next to exit was a group of three individuals. One was a less impressive male Abwehran with dark skin and brown hair. He wored a brown and white business suit, walking in front of the other two with a charming grin on his face. Another male stood to the first man's right, this one wearing a military uniform with a black color compared to its green counterparts. With pale skin and his eyes covered in the same thick, dark goggles as two of their security team, he didn't seem as impressive as the security team, but maintained an aura of command. The final member of the trio seemed to be the only female and wore goggles like her military counterpart, but wore a more civilian garb to her. With her brown hair flowing behind her, the woman only reached to the shoulders of either of her cohorts.

The three of them stepping passed the small corridor of Marines and up to the very small, uniformed woman representing Origin Industries, the charming man cleared his throat before offering his lower right hand. Standing at a height of 7'1", he towered over the representative. "Greetings," he began in a very thick accent. "I am Udo Jung, Negotiator and Representative of the Abwehran Star Empire." he introduced himself in Nepleslian.

The miniscule woman who took the man's arm Introduced herself after the man "I am Aerin Tatst, CEO of Origin Industries. It's a pleasure to be finally meeting you. Welcome to our latest wonder of the Galaxy, Dawn Station." She smiled at the large 4-armed man, Enjoying his height and accent. She continued, getting on to business, sort of.

"Would you and your entourage mid getting into the Black and Green hovercars? We have a bit to travel to get to our meeting rooms, Nearly 17 Kilometers. Once we make our way there, we can arrange accommodations for you before getting down to business, unless you'd like to get to business first, Of course."

"Ah, there are no need for accommodations, Fraulein Tatst," Jung replied with a charming smile. "We are perfectly fine staying aboard the HMS Journeyman." he stated before chuckling. "After all, our quarters on board are already set for out needs. Low gravity can be detrimental to the body after all," he explained calmly. "Besides...Our poor Security Chief would have a fit over it. She's such a worry wart after all," he joked lightly as the Bootsmann in line kept her expressionless facade up.

"Either way, the distance isn't really a problem. Our current Civilian Space Stations are pretty large as well," he replied as he motioned for his associates to enter one of the other vehicles. "I think the central disc of one of our COSS is 45 kilometers in diameter." he explained in a conversational tone.

Aerin Nodded at the man's explanations before his comment about the Civilian station the Abwerhans had, at which point she commented "That is rather impressive. The full size of this station will be around 40 Kilometers when it is completed, and we are several times larger than our closest contemporaries, that is, Non-military stations. If Accommodations are not a problem, then we should get moving as soon as possible."

Aerin handed the keys to her Advent to another employee, a tall Nepleslian man whose name tag read "Hurgh" and whose eyes glowed with delight at being allowed to drive the vehicle. Doors swung open on the other two vehicles, showing roomy interiors clad in plush materials. Aerin held out an arm towards them. "After you, and any of your people you wish to bring. It's my duty as a host to make sure my guests are comfortable."

Udo smiled at the diminutive woman, compared to Abwehran women, and nodded. "Yes, I'll only be bringing these two with me. The Security Team will stay with the ship since they are only here as a formality." he replied as the military uniformed individual began to move. "This is Leutnant Braun, the military liaison of this meeting." he introduced the pale-skined Nightwalker, who nodded respectfully and entered the hover car. "A more permanent military liaison may be assigned to your company later to aid in any design questions you may have," he explained before motioning to the only female of the group. "This is..."

"Cundry Schafer," the woman introduced herself with a small smile. "I'm the Engineering and Technology Analyst sent by the Empire to advise Herr Jung," she explained before nodding and entering the vehicle. Udo seemed a bit taken back for a moment before regaining his charming smile.

"Ah, yes...anyway," he said as he entered the vehicle behind the female Nightwalker. "Please take good care of us," he finished with a weak chuckle.

Aerin smiled at them, saying "Pleased to meet you all. I promise we'll take good care of you guys." With that, she sat into the front seat, quickly setting the autopilot, and letting the vehicle take them down to the meeting rooms.

10 minutes later:

The Ocelot hovercar stopped in front of a doorway in sector ten, and Aerin led everyone through it, into a hallway, and into a small meeting room, where she offered seats to her guests before seating herself on the table opposite them. "So, shall we get down to business, now?"

"Of course," Udo Jung replied with a smile. Pulling out a small palm computer, the large Surfacer tapped a few buttons to pull up a few documents. "Now as you know," he began as he set the computer down in front of him. "The Abwehran Star Empire is a relatively small nation that has just started to expand into the known galaxy. While we have been expanding our military to compensate for the increase in size, we've only be able to produce Escort style craft." Udo explained.

"All of the warships we have currently are the Löwenhertz II-class Destroyer, which are normally kept grouped together into Divisions and/or Squadrons," Leutnant Braun explained as he pulled out his own palm computer and pulled up the appropriate file with unclassified information and slid to towards Origin's CEO. "We can't have a space fleet with just Destroyers."

"Our current major manufacturer of warships, Abwehran Imperial Yards, is currently in the middle of major construction contracts already which include the production of Destroyers, Civilian Transports, and Orbital Facilities in all of our territories. Because of this, we have come to Origin Industries," Cundry explained as Udo tapped his computer lightly.

"We've been getting a few reports from various merchant men about some of your products. Plus, your neutrality when it comes to political organizations and nations makes you a prime choice for our considerations. We've come here to negotiate a contract between the Abwehran Star Empire and Origin Industries. We also would like to invite you to sell your products in our territories, after all...everyone needs a little competition." Jung explained with a chuckle. "Most of our corporations have only had minor local competition, so they need a kick in the pants."

Aerin looked over the ship's statistics, with an air of concentration, for a few moments. Nodding a bit, she began to respond "It's a good ship, and it looks solid. It's interesting in that it is somewhat similar to a few of my own designs." She nodded a bit, before continuing "I hope what you've heard has been positive, most of our customers tend to fade into the background after purchasing, but that's not our business. In any case, I think we can come to an agreement about all this. This station we're on now was designed for the purpose of making larger starships."

She smiled, and pulled out a datapad, bringing up some preliminary papers to modify for whatever agreement might be made. "Is there anything else that you might need from my company? I will see to it that your needs are met."

"Would we be here if it wasn't positive?" Jung replied with a chuckle before Leutnant Braun coughed gently into a fist. "Ah yes, other than filling out the appropriate forms for a business license in the Star Empire, the Armed Forces were pondering about purchasing several products from your catalog." the Negotiator explained as he then looked over to the female beside him. "And Fraulein Schafer also had to explain some design aspects that could...well, hinder your sells in Abwehran Space." the Surfacer remarked as Cundry seemed to take over.

"Yes, quite." she began as she took out a folder and handed it over to Origin's CEO. "Technology-wise, Abwehr is quite behind compared to other star nations in the known galaxy. One thing that is evidently clear is the lack of Aether-based technologies. While we've had plenty of opportunities to gain knowledge to build these, we've voluntarily decided against the use of all Aether Technology. I'm a bit annoyed to say that the reason has more to deal with religion than anything else," the woman grumbled.

"What Fraulein Schafer means is that the Universalists would probably be up in arms about it. Universalism is one of our major religions on Abwehr with nearly 45% of the population believing in one denomination or another. The main doctrine behind it is that the Universe is an actual living being who has created or natural spawned us, sentient beings that is, to learn about itself. Objects or energies from outside the Universe are considered foreign and possibly deadly to the Universe, which is the reason why Aether Technology has been banned from use. Since Aether is drawn from another Universe entirely, it is seen as a danger to our own Universe and many of our Universalists see nations that use it as a danger. While they know that other nations probably don't believe in their ways, they are still quite 'disgusted' with it's use." Jung explained.

"Because of this, we would like to ask that any products you sell in the Abwehran Star Empire be refitted with Fusion technology rather than Aether. Antimatter Reactors are also iffy because of its destructive potential compared to Fusion and is usually delegated to weaponry rather than power sources." Cundry explained with a grimace.

"That would not be a problem" Aerin answered. "It would be no trouble to convert almost any of our designs to fusion, although one or two of our technologies are only possible due to Aether, for the most part we can convert to Fusion. I would assume you already have the infrastructure in place to utilize fusion, yes?" She asked. Her fingers tapped the screen a few times, adding that clause into her contract. It would be an easy thing to do, perhaps they could even open a manufacturing center in Abwerhan space to make these orders easier. Aerin voiced that opinion.

"Would it be possible for us to open a manufacturing facility somewhere in Abwerhan space, so we can focus on building for your nation, within your nation?"

"Of course, since our main power plants are a combination of Fusion and Fission. Though we've noticed are Hybrid Reactors don't really live up to power generation even if they do last longer than our standard Fusion Reactors." Udo replied with a charming smile. "Either way, we have plenty of space to expand into currently with the Northern Colonies to your galactic South-East," the Surfacer replied as he tapped his palm computer to show a map of the northern regions. "Himmel der Bergleute is our closest system to yours if you mind by passing a Black Hole. It's doesn't have any inhabitable planets, but has an extensive asteroid belt. I'm sure plenty of mining companies would enjoy having someone to trade with there," he explained with a smile.

"There is also the Meltra and Schongebiet systems which do have inhabited planets, but the populations are still quite small since they were just recently colonized last year," the Negotiator informed Aerin.

"Before we go on," Braun spoke up and raised an index finger to grab attention. "But what sort of technologies are only available to Aether, if I might ask."

Aerin nodded as Udo explained the systems the Abwehrans had, having the station's computer look them up for her, with whatever was available on public channels. she would look them up in a moment, but for now, she simply answered the Abwehran representative. "Recently we developed a simple system of creating Jet propulsion without the need for fuel, but the process is completely reliant on the ridiculous power output of an Aether generator. Other things are a couple of our starships, whose performance would be crippled without the output of an Aether generator. For the most part, however, everything is capable of being ran with Fusion." After finishing, Aerin had the system information displayed on her datapad, and began looking it over.

The poor Leutnant seemed to be close to having a fit at what he heard first. Jet Propulsion without fuel!? What type of sorcery was this!? Luckily for him, he had a sense of propriety that kept him from freaking out in front of the Yamataian. "I see," he seemed to stumble over that simple phrase.

"Anyway, I do believe the Armed Forces would be interested in more than just a Cruiser design," the Leutnant continued as he attempted to regain composure. "While those will probably be decided later, I can tell you that it could possibly include ground armor and Powered Infantry Armor design requests."

"There are also things that Abwehran Imperial Yards would be willing to sell you as well," Cundry spoke up, interrupting the Leutnant. "Antimatter Production Satellites would probably be useful for your corporation, though it's possible you have a better method of production than just powering particle accelerators by solar or hawking radiation. The Civilian Space Administration Agency would also be able to rent out offices on board our civilian-run space stations so you could have branch offices everywhere in Abwehran Territory."

"Then I believe we can have quite an agreeable partnership." Aerin answered. "While I can make the decision to do business with you myself, I will have to speak with my board about more of the specifics. However, I believe that we will be able to sort everything out very quickly." She tapped her Datapad a few more times, sending off notes to her board members, the other owners of the corporation. That finished, she spoke up once more.

"We're actually in the process of designing a powered armor at the moment, one which we could probably easily modify for your physiology, as it currently only has two arms." Aerin chuckled a bit, finding it somewhat funny.
