'Adventure Guild'

Do you think an Adventure guild would be a good idea(explained below)

Ah, but what if the RPs are on a small, personal scale? Possibly exploring the setting on a street or neighbourhood level, using preexisting environments or swathes of empty space. Speaking of which, I have one already drafted up that occurs in a patch of deep space, as confirmed by the SARP gridmap.

No First Contact scenarios, no groundbreaking caches of alien tech, no wars on an intersystem scale. Just plain street-level work for the mercs, where players can unleash their inner gangsters.

@Doshii Jun that's kinda why I want to get GMs, FM and players all working together on this and why I want it to come together as a 'guild' instead of other things. So there can be approvals as well a oversight to make sure everything stays in line. There would be IC structure as well as OOC structure to help keep things canon. It'd be a perfect place for GMs and FMs to look for a 2nd in command too if they needed to take off from their plot.

Alright this went by the wayside a while. But it came back up in conversation so I'll revive this topic. Pretty much as things are right now I can get this into the NTSE and come up with some jobs for people to do. But my influence is only in Origin and Independent, I can't put out for any other faction. What I'll need for this to become fully functioning is some others willing to make jobs and at least over see people trying to GM out the jobs(which I will do for Jobs I make) to make sure everything stays legit.

The way the Guild is going to work pretty much is that bar's and stores will be registered as guild halls where you can turn in a report for completing a job, or you can go right to the client. And like mentioned before things will be set up ICly and OOCly to abide by rules and structure to keep it all canon.

Alright got approval for Nexus, which will serve as the adventurer's guild. Currently it needs to be populated with jobs and affiliated locations. The jobs of course being the most important.

@Wes I would also like to ask if maybe we can get a Nexus communication subform, most of the plots will probably take place in open RP, but it would be nice to have a place where players can ICly chat and organize for a job.

I feel like we have too many communications subforums already (there's too many subforums in general, IMO). Why not just make a sticky for Nexus communications in the Open RP forum? If we get to the point where we need a full subforum, I can always move the stuff over at a later time. Also, what if the Nexus had a physical hub where players could organize/meet? Like a starport or the tabletop-style tavern.

A sticky topic might work. It'll take some looking though to sort out who's talking to who though. As for physical meeting locations. I didn't want to make new places, cause we have so many Diner's, taverns pubs and cafe's that get almost no attention. So what I did was allow places to put them self on the 'affiliated' list, which is places that you can report completion of Nexus assignments and meet other Nexus contractors. Right now only the Rot Mädchen is on the list, but that's because the other places I don't own to decide.

Okay. Feel free to put Buried Treasure (linked above) on the list, it doesn't belong to anyone in particular. And all Bravemart locations.

Just got a suggestion. Since it would be hard to tell who is talking to who about what if we just had 1 comm thread in Open RP. What about just having communications done in the existing Communications forums, but Nexus gets a tag so that Nexus related stuff can easily be identified?

That's a great idea. In fact if we use a thread prefix, we can filter by it so it only shows the Nexus posts, and we can even link to the filtered forum.

Edit: Where the wiki for it? I'm having trouble finding it.

(I still think all the Communications subforums should be in one big Communications area like they used to be)

An adventuring guild sounds great! This sorta streamlining is exactly what we need.

Also, you know what is shameless shilling and also appropriate for adventurers? Having both bad guys AND monsters to fight!

There could easily be missions like "route out all the monsters in the city" or something like that. This is so anyone can design or run a plot very easily, without having to commit to months of running a plot as a standard GM, they can just run mini plots.
