Do you mean Nepleslia, instead of Damasica? The surface of Damasica was vaporized by the SMX about 3 years ago. Since then, it's become a test site for an experimental terraforming project to recreate Fenyar. The Nozomi is currently about to send an away team down the the forested surface.

Also, you have one too many starting skills.

Other than that, it looks perfect.

Aplogy. I was still think in terms of innate abilities, of which Telepathy would certainly be one, and this wouldn't count towards the totall. However under the new system, I see that changed so I'll remove one of the skills.

I said Damisica because I was given a tip off that their might be a good market their for projectile weapons once the planet starts up. However if you think this is not so, just say and I can change. And the Nozomi heading their was another reason I chose it. Where is the Nozomi currently? I was wondering if I could catch a ride.

Again, the surface of Damasica was vaporized. No one lives there.

The Nozomi is current in orbit of Damasica and preparing to take the first look around the planet since the terraforming.

So what do you think I should do? I'd like to get involved in some RP, but I'm not entirely sure how to do this as my character works for an independant company. Any advice? I thought being given a lift somewhere would be a nice twist, but I suppose I could actualy be trying to sell weapons on one of the ships, giving demonstrations and so forth.

I heard that there's a certain customer you might find on that planet.

Maybe we can bring you along in the Nozomi plot until we start up one that's more accomodating to civilian-types. I'm working on a new setting (colony ship and escort) that should work nicely.

Although my characters a civilian as you can see from his stats he's not exactly afraid of fighting. I would be happy to get involved in combat situations, as well as social ones. Any changes I should make to my character before it is approved?

Oh and once my character is approved (which I hope it will be), how do I get into a plot line. I've read the posting type of Roleplay on the forum, but I'm uncomfortable with this as it involves by writing about what other peoples characters are doing (or at least I think this is how it works, tell me if I'm wrong). I would be a lot more comfortable in a roleplay where I just had to take care of my character and say what he does.

I've had a few people comment that your character is "too perfects and has no flaws" and such. I won't tell you to change it, but please consider making some tweaks for a more multi-dimensional character.

I'm assuming this is a question (they usually end in a ?). Usually, we issue orders (but this doesn't apply since you character isn't in the Star Army) and you start RPing in the appropriate forum (a plot forum or general RP).[/quote]

Players do not control one another's characters.

I wasn't one of those who told Wes you're character was too perfect, but I'm saying it now. I also wasn't sure about convincing PNUgen to help in your history, but I guess that's fine if Wes says it is. Being stronger than a normal human would usually be something I'd complain about, but you sort of have to be in this setting if you want to fight at all.

I liked the reason the character decided to leave, but I don't know why you would put the details of your first mission in your history. I would say you should change that, but no one ever listens to me about histories anyway. I wondered if you had too many skills, and you didn't have to start each thing with "Apesael". Yeah, I'm getting nitpicky now, but I'm done. It wasn't really that bad, I don't want you to misinterpret my post, but I didn't find anything really outstanding except for negative stuff.

The reason why I put a few details in is that I'm not a member of Star Army but wanted to get involved in some of the RP. HOwever this seems to be getting more and more unlikely. Just as a question, if my character can convinve NovaCorp to lend him a vessel to take him to the Nozomi, would he be able to stay for a while? He could be trying to convince someone to buy the weapons he brought with him, Or could be using the ship as a convenient place to meet up with someone to discuss a contract. Then he might stay (if allowed) untill he received some other orders. Someone tell me.

Also can anyone tell me in which particular way to knock off some of his perfection. What features of his should I change? Can somone give me some relitively simple (but please not crude) feedback?

I think people said he was too perfect because it seems he can do just about anything. You also didn't include any flaws, but made him out to be the nicest and most capable person ever. Maybe you could include some sort of flaw, or tone down some of the skills (I understand you have the right number, but maybe make him less than competent in some of the areas). I also liked the telepathy, because I don't think it gave him a whole lot of power, but there's maybe an extra ability or two you could get rid of (like the whitenoise and invasive scanning).

I would think that an only-child who grew up in a wealthy family would be spoiled rotten. :) I'm not saying make him a brat or anything, but maybe he doesn't have to be so socially well-adjusted.

OK I've added a brat factor to the personality.

Reduced capability at using ranged weapons, limited his ability to drive vehicles (now he only knows how to pilot civilian vehicles) and to communicate over radio (he finds it hard to communicate in Combat situations).

So Wes, is their any more changes I really need to make before he is approved? So far I have made him a little bit of a brat. reduced his longrange combat abilities to make him less formidable in combat, and taken the edge of his ability to use communication eqiutment and vechiles. Is he now limited enough to be allowed? Oh I've taken out the white noise. To hard to do with other PC's I guess, but I still think it's a good idea.

Is he still to good?

It's fine. Character approved. :)

Oh thank God. I think this is the single longest, most drawn out discussion of a character while still on the character boards. I seem to be good at creating these sort of things. Do you think I should try and get involved in one of the main RP lines, or try to RP independantly within NovaCorp (which could develop it's character a little), before finding some mission to be sent on which could get me involved? I could really do with some guidance in this matter.

I've made my character the only child of a well of family, presumably a Clan. Is it alright if I post my clan on the clan post that is somewhere around here?

Still waiting for feedback about problems of RPing. No hurry, just making sure that everyone doesn't forget that this post exists.

Don't double post. This board lets you edit.

That's really up to you and your character. ^_^;;

Sure.

Thanks. I've decided to do some RPing about my characters time in NovaCorp, some training, trying to get some awards, that sort of thing. I'll write it up on my laptop and then post it on the General Roleplaying forum. In this case do I write the entire thing, saying everything that happens to my character? Unless theirs a responce I'll assume yes.

Eventualy I hope to get involved in one of the main stream plots, but that would be difficult, and I'm willing to wait and just post my solo roleplay :?

That's not roleplaying, that's writing a story.

Edit : I guess I should clarify. RPing takes place with more than one person. The whole point is that you play the role of your character. You wouldn't control everything. That's what I always talk about with histories. You'd just be writing a story.

Fine I'll be writing a story then. But actualy I'm writing it with Rob and he's playing the role of GM at the moment and desciding what happens to my character while I decide how he responds. Is that better for you? In fact if I can I'm going to be having a proper sort of RP over Yahoo with Rob, him being the GM and I being my character.
