"This is the Nepleslian News Network," came a brusque voice while an image of two newscasters sitting behind a green desk with the star of Nepleslia emblazoned in the center filled the screen while the intro graphics faded.
The first newscaster, a sandy haired and well-muscled man, opened the floor by telling the audience, "In no way was mayhem at bay today! There have been several recent developments in Nepleslia. Among them, acts of aggression and punctured peace bore their ugly heads in a bar on Fortuna!" The newscaster swiveled to the other one there and said, "Over to you. Tell us more about this event."
The other said sharply, "In Leon City on Fortuna there has been a grave and gruesome amount of violence in an Akemi's brothel-style bar! Sources inside tell us that this event was likely caused by the Black Syndicate and an unknown second party! Not only that, footage of the scene is unfolding from outside!"
At that moment, the video feed cut to the imagery outside of the club where drones were cutting at the metal of the doors. Gunshots could be heard, though they were muffled as they came from inside of the establishment.
The newscaster spoke over the feed, saying, "Those don't look like Nepleslian junker drones to us. Is this some kind of foreign technology weaseling its way into Nepleslia?"
The camera angled upward to show a thin black plume rising to the sky.
The blonde burly newscaster spoke out quickly to the audience, saying, "Smoke was seen from the back of the establishment and Nepleslian police are moving quickly onto the scene!"
"Next on the docket," said the other. "Will shaving cause you ulcers? This cult of beard extremists say it will! After that, we tell you why kawaii are killer! The secrets that the Yamataian business behind them doesn't want you to know!"
