RP: Bloody Claws (Bloody Claws) First Period - The Beginning and Arrival

Sub-district

It wasn't that far of a trek for the two to take, considering that the outskirts of the town were barely a few feet from the housing area where the two were staying in. The guard at the gate didn't seem to pay them any mind, the Laibe's eyes instead focused on a few security monitors and only gave them a passing glance. The area town itself though some activity despite the time of day, normally most of the students would be heading home or getting ready to sleep but some of them were not, and this was evidenced by how a number of shops had customers going in and out.

It was easier right now for the two to get a better look at what the town had to offer, both in terms of entertainment and business, now that they weren't on a bus. Holographic signs floated above the sidewalk and roadways, pointing them to various businesses, including clothing and grocery stores, restruants, and even a couple bars.

As they walked Bu'lla quickly bought a long strip of spicy dried meat from a street vendor, sticking it in his mouth and sighing in delight. The length of meat was at least two feet long. Bu'lla's eyes flicked over to Ra'chel and down to the meat, as if just noticing she was there and becoming self-conscious.

With a loud crack he split a length from the meat and offered it to Ra'chel casually. Chewing slowly even as he held it out for her.

Ra'chel took the offered length, "thanks," then nibbles a few chunks off the dried meat, sticking the rest in her pocket for later to nibble on as needed. Knowing from past counters that Bu'lla disliked the Duar, she didn't make a big production out of it. But she was grateful as she was getting a bit hungry. She looked around, enjoying the new sights.

As the two walked, they would start to enter into the market proper and this was where the majority of the students and other residents of this area were at: dozens of people milling about in stores and outside, some talking on thier cellphones, others watching commercials being played on overhead screens of the latest products. Mixed in with the students, were Youth Corp members armed and walking about, although their weapons were noticably at a neutral state - meaning they weren't expecting any trouble, although each of these groups was accompanied by an actual navy soldier.

A short while later the two would come across a bar, and rather decently sized one at that; it had two entrances although one was marked 'VIP Only' and had a bouncer standing in front of it, while the other door was wide open - although it too had a bouncer standing outside, both bouncers were Laibe and they didn't look weak either, although one of these, the one nearest the main entrance; had a My'leke next to him. The bar had glowing red letters, spelling out its name: Ra'she'ta. There was music coming out of it, along with the sounds of people cheering.

Ra'she'ta : Outside

Ra'chel looked up at Bu'lla to see if he was going to enter or pass it by. She had spotted the My'leke with the Laibe. She had seen the pairings of a My'leke to another of the sentient species of home world. She gave a smile at the pairing with a nod of approval.

Bu'lla stared up at the sign and chewed the last few inches of his treat in thought, his ears occasionally swiveling as he took in the ambiance. His eyes never wavering from that bored, superior look as he looked before finally the last bit of treat disappeared into his mouth with a loud crunch. Evaluation completed.

"Ursh gew." He said around his food as he stepped up, still chewing.

He'd been expecting something a little more low-brow, but he supposed a city of students wouldn't tolerate a dive bar. He stepped past the bouncer with barely a look before taking a few steps inside and looking about.

Ra'chel tagged along, unsure what he said. Maybe it was a secret language of the Laibe. "Yeah." She just responded simply to acknowledge him. She was relaxing and enjoying the outing. Kinda regretting that she gave Ake her money for the food she wouldn't be eating. She shrugged and looked around again as she tagged along with him as they entered the establishment.

As the two headed inside, they would be greeted by quite a site, while the outside of the bar made things seem rather... bland, the inside was quite different. The bar was obviously designed to hold a lot of people, as there were four seperate bars within the building and right now each one had people at them - students, teachers, staff working for the school; but most were students of varying ages including a few whom were younger than Ra'chel and Bu'lla. TV monitors lined the walls behind the bar, and beverages were illuminated behind glass walls.

The monitors were presently showing a racing sport that was currently going on in the capital, although one of them was showing the current weather report for the city and the last was a news report related to recent activities. The center of the bar had a decent sized ring, with two indivisuals presently duking it out.

"Welcome, wha'cha have?" the closest bar tender asked, a Laibe who was presently cleaning a glass, who had noticed them enter.

The Home

A young yellow-furred, purple-eyed kit standing around four feet stood in front of the student home he had been assigned. Vin'cent blinked as a smile grew on his face from the excitement of meeting new subje- I mean, people. Unlike some, his trip here was without issue, and certainly with a welcome absence of terrorists. Vin'cent had thanked his lucky stars after he had caught wind of that, his transportation had already arrived and he didn't much need to worry about that. Once he had stepped off, a staff member had assigned him his home and explained what he meant, but the knowledge hungry kit had already studied the information he was sent extensively. Now, here he stood, personal belongings in hand, checking in with the guard. "Well, I hope they enjoy some books to the head." Vin'cent thought with another smile as he entered the house.

The Home

With most of the others now gone, Aka'ashe'na Suha'laisne found herself somewhat alone in the building - it didn't bother her too much considering the boys were gone, and that meant she wouldn't have to worry to much about her phobia hitting her, but the females were also gone which added to her lonliness, but then she was the classes president and she couldnt' exactly leave just yet until most of everyone arrived. "There are only a couple more students whom are missing," she muttered to herself as she looked over the class roster that was presently displayed on her computer tablet. "Although some of the students have dropped out....." her voice faded as she tagged some of the dropped students and removed them from the roster.

When she heard the door open, her mood brightened - perhaps someone had returned!!! Yay! Someone came back!, she gleefully thought and continued to watch... until she noticed that it was a new student, and this new student was a male.... yipes... she thought in fear as she watched the boy, though strangely felt nothing 'bad' about him. Despite her nervousness, she clasped her hands behind her back and smiled at Vin'cent. "Welcome!" she said happily.

The Bar

Bu'lla eyed the place and then turned to the barkeep. With his hands he gestured "Beer. Strong. Lots." before handing Ra'chel some money. Snapping it in his fingers to make a click to get her attention. Then he added a little more for her to get something for herself. Bu'lla's own attention tonight was focused on the fight pit. Internally he was focusing his instincts, loosening his shoulders, and getting ready for his fight. But first, alcohol.

You always fight better with alcohol.

Ra'chel took the money once it was brought to her attention. Seeing Bu'lla wiggle his shoulders. She climbed up on a nearby vacant chair and massaged deeply his shoulders to loosen them up for what ever he had in mind as it obvious the way he stared at the fight pit. "Go get them Bu'lla. I'll place my first bet on you." Then smacked the back of his head when she finished giving his shoulders the deep massage to loosen him up.

Bar

The bartender nodded and grabbed a clean glass from the back and set it down in front of the Kit, then turned back toward the lite up cabinet and looked over it for a brief moment before grabbing a bottle - the bottle was black with a gold shroud around it and a red ribbon; the ribbon was adorned with gold and silver emblems. The tender popped the bottle open and began to pours some of its contents into a glass, "you want strong," he started to say as a wiff of the contents began to permeate the air. "You have it," he poured only up to half of the glass and then set the bottle down and looked over at Ra'chel.

He repeated this process with her, grabbing a glass and then pouring some of the booze into it. "Enjoy, and don't get yourself knocked out," the bar tender grinned as he noticed Bu'lla staring at the fighting pit, and pretty much knew what was going to happen.

Bu'lla took a swig of his glass and licked around his chops at the bitter taste, his neck barely moving from the smack to the back of the head. Putting the glass on the counter he turned to the barkeep.

"So, how does one participate in tonight's innings?" He inquired over the noise of the TV's, crowd, and fight.

Vin'cent blinked as he scanned her for one imperceptible moment before smiling back. "Hi!" He responded with an equal measure of happiness in his voice. "Excitable response, suggests lonesome situation, possibly social butterfly without any visible means of regaining energy from other individuals. However, eyes would suggest apprehension. Further interactions required for complete analysis. Suggest reflecting positive traits to extroverts." The young kit closed the door behind him, approaching the girl. "My name's Vin'cent Domo'voi Got'ti! I gathered you're the class president, Aka'ashe'na Suha'laisne! So very glad to make your acquaintance!" The kit looked around the house for a moment before returning his gaze to the class president, extending his hand for the traditional shake. Vin'cent's eyes showcased his usually high level of energy, but he was watching the other individual with great interest, eager to learn what kind of person she was. "Light-handed response likely." His mind characteristically running a marathon as he observed his subject of interest.

Bar

Ra'chel settled on the seat next to Bu'lla and sipped her drink, looking around the crowded and noisy room. It was interesting to listen in on various conversation going on around her.

Boat

The sea was calm, the air was crisp, smelling the salt that would be in the water one might think that the feeling of being on the wild and open seas was one of liberation, and freedom. The discovery of boat travel lead way to the many other forms of travel that would come to be seen by the people of the Neshaten. Airtravel, Car Travel, and eventually Space travel found its way into the reservoir of the Neshaten people. Freedom, Freedom was something of an illusion however, and in the end freedom is only as free as you yourself allow you to be. Deep words, deep but true words... These were the thoughts that crossed the mind of the young kit as she crossed the ocean, they are thoughts that have always filled her ever inquisitive mind. She was sleeping when she heard the giant foghorn erupt in a baratonal blast erupting a sound that would send any of the animals she hunted for fun and a living running for their poor little lives. She stood, and moved out noting that they were approaching landfall, so she gathered her stuff and got properly dressed in her uniform... by the time she was done the ship had entered its docking motion.

Harbor

The ship docked, and laid upon the harbor its exiting ramp. Down it a lot of people came, be it Myenel, Laibe, or Daur there were a lot of people. But despite all that one might notice a slight irregularity. In said crowd a semi-tall kit of five foot two, with an exceptionally athletic build, found her way down the ramp holding her duffel bag full of equipment. On her body was the schools assigned uniform, the dress and under that was a pair of shorts and below that a pair of boots. She had upon her back two pairs of swords, and a few other weapons of choice that she couldn't fit in her duffel bag. She took a moment to stop on the dock which allowed the others to push and shove past her and finally reveal the rest of her to anyone who may be watching. Her fur was black, and her tail pure white, both irregular and rare to find on a Laibe. She had a look of kindness about her, she smiled, and her eyes looked gentle, almost mother like... but any perceptive person might notice that there were emptiness in her eyes, a trauma long since past what was it? Anyone here was unlikely to know, unless they heard of her mother. She gathered her bearings and once she looked at the homes address she began moving in its direction.

The Home

As she approached the academy she swallowed back what little nervousness she had and kept her stride up. She secretly wondered to herself why her father would choose to send her to this academy, after everything she's been through, and heard about this place. She shrugged to herself and kept moving entering the gates and heading towards the main office, looking around quietly. She pushed the doors to the home open and looked around quietly stopping and muttering outloud, in a slightly gruff, but still equally as feminine voice; "...Hello?"

Bar

The bartender glanced at Bu'lla for a moment before looking toward the pit. "Its an open fight night, so you don't need an invitation or anything; just throw yourself into the ring and survive, no weapons, just bare fists. And don't go crying to your mommy if you get hurt," the man continue to clean the glass.

At the pit, a large Laibe - easily over seven feet tall - walked around the circomference of the ring as another fighter - also a Laibe - attempted to beat him out only to wind up flat on their back and out cold. "Whose the next dumb-ass?" shouted the larger Laibe as he peered about the room.

Home

Aka'ashe'na was plesantly surprised that this student knew her name, given that she hadn't given it; or perhaps they'd looked into whom was going to be in the class. Looking at the extended hand, Aka' grabbed it firmly and smiled. "Charmed," the young kit said. "Most everyone is out right now, getting a bite to eat and doing other things before curfew, would you be-," her voice stopped when she heard the door open a second time.

"Oh!" Aka' jumped when she saw that it was a Laibe this time. "Welcome-welcome!~"

Bar

Bull'a glanced that the large laibe parading around the ring. The other fighter was almost twice Bull'as height. And probably three times the weight.

"What am I? Little Mac? Get stuffed." Bull'a replied, taking a swig of his port.

When it became clear that the other Laibe wasn't going to move until a new contender was found Bull'a growled in impatience. He turned to Ra'chel and handed her his beer and held up a small wad of cash to her eye-line.

"This is my seed money, make sure the bookie doesn't bugger off with it. And be ready with that beer if I signal."

Taking a sniff, he rubbed his nose with the back of a hand and moved towards the ring with a purpose, getting the attention of one of the bookies and placing a bet on himself. Only half the seed money went into the pot, Ra'chel could notice. Clearly Bull'a wasn't entirely confident either.
