RP: Bounty Hunts [Bounty 3.1] Eviction Notice

Machine Room

As soon as she reloaded her revolver, Katya began to pulling trigger rapidly again.
She mumbled herself as she got little bit scared while pulling trigger.

" . . . Darn . . . "

Then she soon realised Jaina was calling for Iron Ferret then slowly looked at Jaina as she got behind the wall to reload her revolver.

" Are they responding ?! "

Machine Room

The loud noise of the machines running was cut off by the sounds of weapons being fired and the whipcackring of bullets burying themselves into the concrete or bouncing off the metal. Next to the cargo door, one of the mercenaries suddenly dropped his gun and sat down, trying to pull off what looked like a length of sharpened rebar off his shoulder, above the collarbone and uncomfortably close to his neck, prompting his buddies to redouble their fire since there was one less gun active.

On the other side, it took a while for a reply to come, but when it came it was Jacob instead of the Iron Ferret's pilot, and the sound of gunfire could be heard in the background. "Dealing with boarders now, give us some time!" he yelled back before the sound of an assault rifle firing on auto, followed by a stream of curses cut off any other noise from the channel. It seemed that the other group wasn't having it any easier at that time than the mercenaries were.

Next to Jaina, the attackers were close enough that one almost managed to grab for Duncan's shotgun before being blasted off with the stream of buckshot. Being that close, the pellets didn't even have time to separate and just hit the person like one big shell, and the one behind him burst into flames from a glancing hit by Katya's SiZi before her gun-happiness made the plasma revolver go dry again. As if on a cue, Duncan's shotgun also went empty, leaving them both staring at the large group that was trying to get inside the building.

Machine Room

"Fuck!" Jaina shouted. She grabbed her rifle like a staff, ready to defend herself and use the bayonet on it. She turned to the female merc nearby. "Find us a way to the roof!" She shouted.

"We are pulling back, keep slotting these bastards. We are not getting through. Time to get on the roof, the Hunters will get us!" Jaina shouted at her mercenaries. Of course she did not actually know that Hunters will come, but she needed her soldiers to feel like they still have a way out of this, so they won't stop fighting for their dear lives.

Jaina jumped next to Duncan, hearing his rifle click empty. She grabbed the handle of her GP-1 aimed it at the crowded and started firing at full auto to clear them out.

Machine room

Duncan cursed as he heard the clunk of an empty shotgun. He felt Jaina move beside and was thankful for the back up. He swung his empty shotgun into it's holster to free up his hands, his favorite weapons.

The first man moving in to get at Duncan would be grabbed and assisted through the doorway into the room as Duncan pivoted on his left foot. After flinging the man into the room Duncan would pivot back lashing out with a big boot front right kick to the chest of the next man in line, intended to push him back into his onrushing allies.

Machine Room

With the news that their extraction was coming, the mercenaries embattled inside the machine room doubled their efforts in what had seemingly raised their spirits. To one side, the two mercs keeping the cargo door clear were starting to have difficulty in doing so, despite their guns never looking like they stopped firing. The corrugated metal that made the cargo door was all but strips of ripped durandium, with two people who tried to break into the machine room hanging from the openings where they were put down.

On the other side, the small opening was proving to be more defensible up until one of the mercs defending it left to find a way to the rooftop, no longer being able to shoot the mob from the window she was standing behind, it made the lives of the attackers easier, and they continued to charge at the door. On the place in question, before Duncan could grab the nearest person and smash their face in, he found out that all the attackers within arms reach had fallen once Jaina shoved her rifle betwen them and fired at full auto, giving them some breathing room at the expense of using up all the ammo she had loaded on the gun, which didn't seem to be a problem to their enemy, since a few moments after that happened more moved into the cramped doorway.

With his plan back on track and without a chance to being interrupted, Duncan grabbed at the nearest figured, expertly throwing the person inside room, where Jaina promptly bayonetted them once they landed; it seemed to have worked, because the person stopped moving as soon as the metal disappeared between the rags that were covering them. Before the mercenary could pivot back and lash back again with a kick, one of the attackers, carrying what looked like a circular saw and struck at the mercenary in a downward motion, hitting him on the back and causing a shower of sparks as the rotating blade hit the Durandium trauma plate underneath, but before the blade could bite throught he armor, Jaina managed to turn back around and bayonet the person through the throat, making him stumble back and revealing that the back of Ducan's vest was completely ruined, hanging only by a few strips of fabric.

Machine room

Duncan stumbled forward under the force of the hit to his back. He gritted his teeth as the impact sent waves of jarring pressure throughout his body. Time seemed to slow down as Duncan went down to a knee, he watched as Jaina spun and thrust her bayonet over his back. The sudden appearance of blood flowing over his back and pattering on the floor around him concerned Duncan. "Is that mine? Did some crazy jack off really just slice me open," Duncan asked himself?

The thoughts died in his mind as a smoking circular saw clattered to one side of him and a body followed suit on the othee side. Anger and rage flowed through Duncan then, seeking revenge. With a rush of adrenaline and a growl the muscular man grabbed the saw beside him and surged to his feet. He wielded the saw in two hands ready to face the next sorry idiot that dared face him.

He didn't turn away from the doorway but said to Jaina beside him, "Thanks for the spot boss. I owe you a good time when we get out of this."

Machine room

"Don't thank me just yet!" Jaina shouted back and stabbed with her rifle at another badguy who got too close. "When I say, you move back with Katya. I am going to make us some breathing room." She shouted in a moment of respite before another assailant got too closer. By now the room was chaos and Jaina had no idea how other mercs did, but she did knot that they just had to get on the roof. The tunnels would be flooded by now and it would be against them and there was no way, they would fight their way out of the machine room through the crowd. They needed to get up on the roof, where they could defend themselves until help would arrive, enemies would run out of breath, or they would run out of bullets.

"Now!" Jaina shouted, leaving her rifle in her left hand and quick-drawing her HHG. She aimed it at the doorway and started blasting round after round into the badguys, trying to create some breathing room so the the mercs around her could fall back.

Machine room

At Jaina's call Duncan started moving backward but was determined to be second out. He was a little concerned as the mercenary sent to find a path to the roof never confirmed such a path.

The increasing melee gave Duncan plenty of opportunities to try out the now buzzing circular saw. He would have Jaina's back as long as she was there.

Machine room

The heavy industrial tool seemed to give a little more punch to the very close quarters resistance that the mercenaries were pulling, if anything, a big, pissed off guy waving a very loud industrial tool turned out to be a pretty good deterrent, and none of their foes seemed to be into any rush to jump into the blade. Thankfully, none of the attackers seemed to be in possession of any guns, or they would've had a better time getting inside the room, their advance seemingly reaching a momentary stalemate due to the efforts at the door and of the mercenaries firing out of the window. Things seemed to be looking good for the mercenaries, until one of them yelled through the comms that the cargo door had been breached.

The two mercenaries guarding the larger entrance quickly withdrew to the higher ground, one of them leaving behind a frag grenade to slow down the advancement as he climbed up a simple metal ladder built into the concrete and rolled onto the higher ground as the explosive detonated, turning the first group of people breaking through the cargo doors into minced meat. From where they were, Duncan and Jaina could see that both of the mercenaries that barely escaped were clearly injured from their fight.

One of them managed to get up into a kneeling position, drawing his pistol and emptying it against the mob below to slow them down, although it was clear that they would be climbing it up any time and rushing the mercenaries guarding the smaller entrance.

Machine Room

As soon as she heard Jaina, Katya ran as fast as she could behind Duncan.
She kept pulling her trigger as she ran, as she didn't knew what to do.

" So, what now ?! "

As soon as she got up with Duncan, she yelled at him.

Machine room

"Let's go, let's go!" Jaina shouted as she holstered her HHG. She grabbed her rifle again and ejected the empty mag, while reaching for a reserve full mag. Reloading the rifle she moved back, following the rest of the mercs up to the roof. Putting her gun back on single-fire she started sending bullets at the attackers to slow them down. She also needed to cover the two mercs who guarded the large doorway. Though she did know, she must not stop moving, or it would be her who would be left behind.

Machine room

Duncan let out a low growl, they were getting surrounded and he still didn't see this roof access Jaina was on about. At Katya's yelled question Duncan took just a moment to turn toward her and with a stern visage and voice said, "Katya, really, you have two options here. Get behind Boss lady and cover her or use that apparent paperweight." Duncan gestured at the medical bag Katya was carrying.

Duncan hesitated and switched his gaze from the small door to the ladder up from the large door. He knew those two guys did a great job holding off the masses but they were hurt and about to be overrun. He hated making decisions, especially since he had little to no experience in this line of work. What he did have however is a sense of loyalty and duty.

Duncan turned from his position and sprinted to the injured but holding mercenaries. "Get some distance! I've got this, go find that damn roof access and let me know," Duncan yelled to the two mercenaries as he took up position above the ladder, his saw revving happily in his hands. "Make sure you gwt out of here, I will be right behind you!"

She looked at her Medic Kit as Duncan gestured at it.

" Got it . . . !"

Katya yelled back as she heard Duncan.
She then quickly turned around and begin to run toward Jaina as she reached for her holster and pulled her revolver out.
She checked the cylinder then loaded it as she got behind the Jaina, then began to pulling the trigger again.

Machine room

With the smaller access effectively unguarded, it didn't take long before some of the attackers started to slip into the room -despite a few being taken down by Jaina's firing- and take cover behind the machinery that stood ominously in the middle of the room, and since the first group had taken in the brunt of the mercenaries' guns, that allowed a second group to come in and secure their position better. With their new 'beachhead' created, more of they started to come in, a few of them firing guns at what could only be spitting range from the mercenaries. The noise of the guns firing and the yelling became unbearable in the closed building, and the coppery smell of blood became even stronger over the smoke.

The fight picked up its pace again, and despite Jaina's group have enough room and firepower to shoot anyone charging them, the volume of people firing back from the cover inside the machine room was starting to become more dangerous, which was only emphasized when another one of the enemy peppered the chestplate of her muur with some very long nails, stopping inches from her neck after penetrating the plate covering that area. To her side, the other percenary wasn't so luck, and the man staggared back behind cover, holding his injured hand in front of him and trying to pull out the nail that had somehow buried itself between his fingers.

Despite that, where Jaina was, she could easily see the ladder that led to an open hatch and the clear sky above them, but there was still no answer from the mercenary that she sent there.

Things didn't look on the other side either as Duncan covered the two mercenaries. Despite none of the locals being enamorated with the notion of going up the platform and meeting his circular saw, they seemed content in taking potshots at the mercenary from below, which wasn't a problem since he could just step back and be out of their sights. The only problem was when they first threw what looked like a plastic with several nails poking outward from it and a lit fuse at the top, followed by a couple more.

Machine room

"Oh bloody hell!" Jaina said and decided to return the compliments at from the attacked at full. "Get up the ladder fast! They got bombs!" She shouted, grabbed one of her few remaining frag grenades and tossed it toward the smaller entrance. The machinery should cover the mercs from the blast, but there was nothing to help the raiders. Jaina took cover behind the machine, ready for the advancing attacks. She wanted to make sure that the merc close to her and Katya would get up on the ladder, before Jaina herself would follow. After all unlike Katya, Jaina at least had a full set of armour, so she had better chance, being the last to retreat in this small group. She just hoped that Duncan and other two mercs are going to be fast enough as well.

Machine room, cargo door side

"Oh...shit," Duncan groaned at the sight of the IED. Why, why did things have to just get more complicated. The mission started out well enough. Sure, facing hundreds of crazy rag people wasn't a brochure selling point but this? This took the cake. Now we had crazy rag people with bombs. Super.

Duncan dropped the saw, turned from his position at the top of the ladder and moved to the closest mercenary. Grabbing him by whatever he could, Duncan mustered his strength and lifted the mercenary up on his feet and moving towards the ladder to (relative) safety.

Moving along behind the first physically displaced ally, Duncan would push the other soldier along as well. He all but felt the nails that he imagined bursting forth to pepper his back. In the end, Duncan would always put his allies safety first.

Machine room

Thing we looking dare. Jaina ushered Katya up the ladder again as seconds before explosion were counting down. The previously thrown grenade exploded behind corner, where smaller entrance was, but what success it had could not be known by the mercs. Katya quickly made her way up the ladder with Jaina right behind, making space for Duncan and two remaining mercenaries.

Duncan's muscles were aching from all the strain, as he had to half-carry the pistol armed merc with him. The other one was limping right by, firing a shot or two behind them to cover their movement. Finally after what seemed like age, Duncan made it to the ladder. The merc, carried by him, grabbed on the rungs and started climbing up. One of his legs was clearly out of order, but he still managed to pull himself up using his arms and remaining leg. The other merc had a bit easier time as his wound were not as bad.

Finally there was enough room for Duncan to climb as well. He looked up and could see he had to climb several meters. Rung after rung, he was making his way up, as thing starte to fly around him. There were several industrial nails, flying close to his person and even few stones, but none hit. Finally he made it up on the top, where several hands grabbed him and pulled him up.

Just in time. A deafing sound of explosion could be heard and whole building shook. A giant fireball flew out of the trapdoor on top of the roof, just where Duncan was a mere fractions of a second before. It seamed like they all made it just in the nick of the time, a bit later and few of the mercs would be grilled meat, that could not be served even at Neppies.

Finally the mercenaries made it to the roof. That gave him quite a view at the scores of locals, flooding into the building. Others stayed outside, throwin stones or firing more nails at the mercs.

"Duncan!" Jaina shouted at the large man, unhooked her rifle and tossed it to him. "It is my last mag so don't waste it! And if you loose the rifle, you'll pay for it."

Duncan could already see some of the crazies climbing up the scaffolding and catwalks around the water tanks that surrounded the machine room. From there it might be possible to jump to the mercs, or get better angle to use the various projectiles. Of course it has its downsides as the catwalks were in terrible shape and Duncan could see the floor give up here and there, sending several locals down to their doom.

Katye herself was by the ladder leading up to the roof and as her hearing came back to her, she could already here the ladder shaking. Someone was climbimg up and it was unlikely that he or she would be friendly.

Machine room roof

Duncan caught the rifle and looked from it to Jaina then back to it. Duncan coughed away a brief look of anxiety and moved to the highest point on the roof, knelt for firing stability and started scanning for suitable targets.

Duncan steadied himself and his anxiety. He had been trained on all sorts of common weapons but he had always gotten low marks for accuracy. Give him a fully automatic weapon or something bulky with a decent radius and you will see some fireworks. This situation unnerved him. Jaina and the rest were putting a lot of their faith in him, even if they didn't realize it. As always though, the large man's determination and loyalty to those beside him would urge him to perform at his absolute best.

As he slowly panned, aimed and fired on some of the more proficient climbers on the scaffolding a thought occurred to him, "Hey, hey anyone with any explosive left, try destroying some of those closest catwalks! It will ease our field of fire and make it harder for them to get across to here!" Duncan shot at another crazy climbing while carrying something that could have been a weapon. He was determined to take his time aiming and getting the shot right, and so he did.

Machine room roof

"We have to ration the explosives!" Jaina shouted back at Duncan as she reloaded her HHG with more red shells. As she did so, she then leaned forward and fired few rounds down the hatch. A yelp was heard, followed by sound of several bodies falling down to the ground. To finish up the job, Jaina grabbed one of her remaining frags and tossed it down the hatch. "Frag out." She added.

Duncan's gunfire proved to be effective. It was like shooting a sitting pigeons. Problem was that there were a lot of enemies. Some had just a cloth bags, filled with rocks, other had nailguns. It was easy to tell which were more dangerous to the group. Next to him, a merc with wounded leg, grabbed his rifle from a sling and reloaded it. Raising it, he added his gunfire to Duncan's.

Duncan took a moment to grin at his success thus far. He turned his head slightly to see who was firing beside him and yelled over, "Thanks for the assist man! Let's get 'em while we can. You stay to the right and I will take the left so we don't waste ammo on the same guy!"

Duncan turned back just in time to see an especially skilled and frenzied climber. He took aim and sent off a round and moved to the next target. He was satisfied with how thing have turned around but he was still frustrated because he knew he would run out of ammo real soon and there were still a lot of crazies on their way.
