We have been informed by the Yugumo Keisatu that a massive multi-device explosion has taken place at the Capital Dome. The Capital Dome, a building remnant from the former United Outer Colonies now serves as the regional Motoyoshi Colonial Sector Government Center, Office of the Governor of Jiyuu III, and has several satellite and regional offices for the Yamatai Star Empire. Search and Rescue Crews, the Yugumo Keisatu's Motoyoshi Keibi, as well as a special task force from the First Expeditionary Fleet has been on the scene for several minutes as the aftermath of this tragedy has played out. Representatives have informed us that the entire structure is unstable and has collapsed in many areas making the retrieval of victims and survivors very difficult. Heavy Equipment from Yugumo Corporation is being transported to Motoyoshi-Cho to aid in the recovery operations. Casualty numbers are still being estimated, but officials say the number of deceased is increasing as crews work their way into the rubble.
At first glance Yugumo Keisatu reported that the explosion, which took place shortly after the lunch hour would have caught several staff and officials starting their afternoon meeting sessions and office hours, meaning the building was near normal occupancy. A perimeter has been established with several outreach tents that have been erected to aid in keeping the family members and loved ones of the victims informed as more becomes available. The explosion is suspected to be the result of a terrorist attack but local Tange cells have not yet taken responsibility.
We have just been updated that planetary Governor Motoyoshi-Ieyasu Taro is among those missing; the Governor was suspected to be in the Dome for a meeting of Motoyoshi Colonial Sector representatives in regard to upcoming capital construction projects for the next year.
