It took a few minutes for some of the miners to get the gear ready, and a few minutes more to get a transport prepped and ready to take a crew up toward the top of the mountain and the sides. When it was ready, they lifted off and began to run hoses and other tubing down through the narrow holes in the rock facing - attaching generators to the ends so that air could be pumped into the cavern. With things settling down around the camp, more people came to offer their help in clearing the rock-fall.
"Here," one of them said and handed Def'leor an optical cable, it was attached to a spindle that had almost four hundred feet of cable in total and the end of it had an attachment so that it could be hooked up to a computer.
"The rock here is quite tough and mining explosives just don't cut it," one of hte miners said. "We've had to use shaped charges in order to blast a hole in, although, that was when the rock was solid. With it being broken as it is, it's possible that only a few rounds of explosives would be enough to create a decent opening."
