RP: SNV Gam'trosha [Chapter 4] Into a Den of Trouble!

"Cabin seven huh? Alright that's not to far off." Kil'nda told them leading them to their room. "Marine huh?" he asked as the other didn't know their specialization in the field yet. Well If your on away teams guess we'll be working together, I'm a Combat Engineer so I help keep things running in the field." He said making small talk before stopping at a door. "Well here you guys are. Let me know if you guys need any help. unpacking but I need to get heading to Engineering here shortly" he told them.

Dar'tagnan opened the door for Elza'beth. "Thank you for showing us around and to our cabin. I do not know if I will specialize, it is complicated." Dar said to Kil'nda.

Elza turned to the Laibe to escorted them. "I appreciate your assistance Sah. It will take me a bit longer than most to become comfortable moving about. I can take handle unpacking Dar's and my effects. That way I will know where they are when I need them. Hopefully we will see you around." she said with a smile.

Kil'nda gave a nod as it seemed that would be all the assisstance needed from him. "Alright then see you guys around." he said. He left they two to their rooms. He headed back to his own and got himself ready before heading for Engineering

Sa'kira watched as more of the crew were arriving by the minute, some rushing onto the ship and forgetting to salute - only to stop a few feet into the ship and turning around and apologizing for the error before going on their way. With a heavy sigh, the Shipmaster pushed off the wall and keyed the ships intercom. "Sa'kira to bridge, prepare for departure, wait ten minutes before closing the outer airlock and retracting the boarding ramp."

Sa'kira slowly made her way back to the bridge, every once in awhile she'd stop and check on the progress of goods being loaded onto the ship via the cargohold, which was sealed tight from the water thanks to a dedicated cargo tube. She noticed several crates of weapons being brought onboard including some new vehicles that RnD had finished and that HighCom' had authorized for usage within the Navy. "Despite being an exploratory vessel we still have ot have a compliment of tanks onboard, I wonder how another race would feel if they saw this..." her thoughts spoken aloud, the Shipmaster merely shook her head and continued on her way, arriving on the bridge a few moments later.

Bridge

Def'leor was at her station her cane secured to the side of it. Upon hearing Sa'kira's command she started going through the launch checklist. She opened a shipwide intercom channel. "Attention all hands, we are preparing for launch. Secure any loose equipment in your personal and or work space, and report to your normal duty stations. Marines ensure that all marine vehicles are properly anchored to the deck.

Engineering, bring up main power and engines and be prepared to respond to commands. Switch life support to internal once main power is stable."

She then opened a channel to the flight control. "Attention Flight Control, this is SNV Gam'trosha. We are making preparation for departure. Standby to retract boarding ramp and external power.

Hallway

Elza'beth was in her shared cabin when the announcement came through. She waited two minutes before stepping into the hallway. She then started making her way to the bridge. Her duties were two fold, and while she had yet to get to her office, Elza' figured she should probably be on the bridge for the moment. That way if there was anything she needed to be aware of regarding their mission she could hear it in person.

Dar'tagnan set off for the hold and to find the senior marine. He figured that since there was equipment to secure, he would find the person there. He navigated the passage ways, nimbly using his agility to move around those in the hallway to avoid any bumping. Once he entered the hold he looked about for the O'Eytene.

Kil'nda was in the Enginerring station working on making sure everything was working alright Thankfully he managed to get assigned to a particular station to watch over. He'd hate to be one of the guys that hard to run from place to place checking on different things all at once. "Everything green here!" he told the Commander in charge of Engineering as they got ready for left off once more

Ross buttoned up the front of his uniform as Vik proceededacdncache_a.akamaihd.net_items_it_img_arrow_10x10.png to use a mixture of oxygen and carbon dioxide to communicate. "Yes, I am." He replied as he meticulously adjusted his collar into the appropriate positionacdncache_a.akamaihd.net_items_it_img_arrow_10x10.png down to the millimeter. Upon self-inspection via a small mirror supplied by dear mother, the swordmaster determined that his uniform was as proper as one could make an active duty uniform. The real effort must be reserved for the dress uniform. We are professionals, are all. Regardless, he set himself down upon his bunk and began equipping his boots, sword laying behind him. "If I may speak freely, Vik'tor, I did not accept this uniform so that the gentler sex would, shall we say, look more favorably upon me or some other petty reason." The nobleman patted each side of his boot before standing, retrieving his sword and turning back to his retainer as he strapped the sheath around his waist, sword hanging from his hip. Ross placed his hand on the grip. "My family may have need of my services as a bachelor to secureacdncache_a.akamaihd.net_items_it_img_arrow_10x10.png a political or economic advantage, regardless of my thoughts on the matter, so I suppose that is a moot point. I accepted this uniform to serve the kingdom. Leave is a waste of my time and a severe misapplication of my skills." With his thoughts on the matter thoroughly explained, he made his way to the door, having every intention of heading for the cargo area to ensure the vehicles' safety. He waited at the door for Vik.

Bridge

Once he had stashed his stuff back in his cabin, and put on his uniform. Alis'tar made his way to the bridge, just in time to hear Def'leor's announcement to the whole ship. He wasn't entirely sure where to be at the present moment, so finding a free station and taking the seat. Once he got settled in his seat, he began to feel a tad bit out of place. Though it did not show physically, internally he was questioning if he chose the right station. It wasn't so much abnormal for him; this nervousness in the pit of his stomach considering he was new here. Alis'tar shook his head a little; trying to clear his thoughts of the newbie jitters, they hadn't even left the docks yet.

One, two, three breaths and Alis'tar felt his nervousness fade to a dull image of it's formal self, things would go smoothly. He'd just keep telling himself that, though there was nothing wrong with being a little nervous; it would keep him on his toes. No, he had to shake these thoughts from his mind. He needed to focus, keep his mind on the task at hand. He'd focus his mind on the station he was at, so hopefully his nervousness wouldn't be a distraction anymore.

Quin'trema smiled. "With those new capacitors installed, we should be a lot more stable in the power department. But just to be safe," she shifted over to another console. "A'Fuereb bring the main reactor online, set its power output to level six and reserves level seven and eight for emergencies only. Once you are done, verify that the reactor is powering the entire ship and then release the external power conduits."

Outside

After awhile the ships outer airlock sealed up and the boarding ramp retracted from the ship, the water that the ship sat in started to waver due to the gravity engines that were now coming online; the crew that had been bring in supplies quickly finished up their duties and sealed up the cargobay and retracted the loading ramps. Within a few moments the ceiling above the ship began to open up, faint light from a series of search lights flooded into the bay, this was occupied by blue flashing lights that made a path up along the ceiling and toward the opening.

Sa'kira took her seat in her chair, relaxing for a moment before straightening up. "XO, Order our infantry to the cargohold and have them inspect the cargo brought onboard, I dont' want any stoways or hidden surprises when we leave. Also, make sure they verify that there are four crates of medical supplies and eight of food, we'll be delivering those to a science outpost after we leave the planet."

"Rodger!" Kil'nda called out as he was given his instructions. He began to power up the main reactor setting the levels to those specified. "Whoa.. okay this ship sure powers up fast. Guess now that we got all those new parts everything is running much more smoothly." He was talking mainly to himself but it wasn't long before he reported. "Everythings ups and ready and the ship is getting the power it needs, releasing the external power now." He said as he began to work on that very said task which shouln't take him too long if everything continues to go smoothly

Shar made sure to get back to her cabin, stow away her things and change into uniform. Her little pet watched that all with an interest, of course to the small animal the most interesting thing was the treat that Shar brought her from the planetside. As Critter was busy nibbling at the cookie-like object, Shar grabbed her belst with sword and pistol, two long boxes and left her cabin. She headed for the bridge, first she wanted to deliver few things.

Shar walked into the bridge as soon as Sa'kira was busy ordering her and other infantry to do an inventory check. That was all fine of course.

"Ma'am," Shar saluted to her shipmistress. "I will go check the cargo right away. Just one thing. I got you something from the planet, one for Lex as well."

Shar offered each Daur a box. Inside were ceremonial dagger of palace guards. After all Shar still had her contacts and if there were two people on the board, that Shar would want to bring gifts for, it were Sa'kira and Def.

Bridge

Def'leor took the box from Shar. She carefully opened it, and was surprised by the contents. She slowly lifted the knife out and examined it. Such a blade was not something she had ever expected to have. "Thank you Lu'man Yar'ica Shar'ica. This is a very fine gift and I will treasure it." she replied and made a mental note to sometime find a fitting gift for Shar.

She then turned to the intercom.

"Attention all Infantry, report to the Cargo Hold for inspection of cargo, ensure that all containers are properly manifested and have not been tampered with." she said across the ship speakers.

Bridge

Sa'kira blinked and opened up the gift from Shar, her expression into that of a smile. "Thank you Shar'ica, it is a most wonderful gift." She looked the blade over with a nod and then planted it onto her belt right next to her sword, it was ceremonial of course, but one she would keep close to her.

Engineering

"Excellent!" Quin quipped as she shifted to another station and sent the all clear report to the bridge, letting them know that the reactor was fully operational and that they were no longer tethered to the bases power supply - thus they were clear for departure. "Now let's hope everything else goes great during this trip, don't wanna repeat of last time, ya know?" the chief engineer relaxed ever so slightly, but then leaned inward toward her console and began to tap away on it.

Crew Lounge

Tite rolled over and yawned with a stretch as he heard yelling over the intercom. He harshly blinked his eyes a few time, trying to get adjusted to light now that his nap was over. He paused a moment to lick his fur flat before saying to himself, "duty calls, I guess." He continued his speech with a few grumbles and a curse as he jogged off towards the cargo bay.

Kil'nda was at a concle of his own working on keping everything going as they prepared to set off. "I heard about that, somthing went wrong on this ship right? Never got the full sotry on that He said as he kept up his end of the work

Engineering

"Eeeeeh..." Quin' thought for a moment on how best to respond. "Basically just a problem with the ships design and some of its components, High Command decided that instead of putting us at risk of further problems they'd recall 'all' the ships of this type and do a major retrofit. Our ship was one of the few to be completed 'early' and ahead of schedule, I wonder if the Shipmistress was responsible for that," the chief Engineer glanced up at the ceiling for a moment.

Bridge

"XO, Inform all stations to secure for departure, then take us up," Sa'kira ordered as she brought up a new display that showed what was going on outside of the ship, the overhead doors were finally opened fully and faint beams of light began to peep down into the bay - the sun was out, and Sa'kira was glad that they wouldn't be stuck in the daylight for too long.

Cargohold

A small hole appeared in the side of a wooden container, through here a number of small critters began to scurry out of it - had they been bigger the ships internal bio-sensors might've picked it up, but they weren't generating enough heat to trigger said sensors. The critters scurred across the floor until they got to a metallic crate, here one of them walked up to it and tried to knaw onto it - succeeding only in putting a few small scratches on it.

Realizing that it wasn't going to get into this thing, the group scurried over to another crate - this one wooden, where they all began to knaw on it.

Ross, upon deciding that he was delaying in his duties for too long, executed a quick facing movement and marched down the corridor, making his way to the cargo hold. Upon arrival, his eyes scanned the area, taking a quick glance at the area as a whole. Satisfied that there wasn't an unseen intruder staring him down or otherwise making their own presence obvious, the swordmaster approached the closest of the crates. It was a metal thing, seemingly unremarkable compared to the rest. The nobleman made a quick, rudimentary scan of the manifest. It was obviously condensed by some pencil-pusher for someone uneducated in finances to understand. Even if he was meddling when it came to administrating an estate, Ross found it overly simplistic. Everything evidently in order, the Daur turned to walk away, when he spotted something queer about the crate from the corner of his eyes. He turned back to examine it in clearer detail, eyes narrowing in suspicion. He crouched down and ran his hands over the scratch marks on the crate. "Deeper than what one would expect of a professional business... And strangely claw shaped." The Youth Corps soldier deduced. As soon as the thought left his mind, he heard them, the strange noises that an animal would make. Ross unsheathed his sword and raised a hand to his communicator. "A'freub Got'ti to Bridge, I believe we have stowaways of the fauna type. They're still located in the hold, I can hear them. Orders?"

"Well then again." Kil'nda said making small talk as he and other moved about making sure everything was alright with the engin before they left the planet. "They made such a huge deall about thig thing all over the news when it first got ready I'm sure the last thing they needed was every tabloid asking why the Gam'Trosha was docked for so long.. A though soon occuring to him. "Anyone ever get anyword on what it was that we fought before we were recalled? I'm going to be honest I had though that was the reason at first. First sings of life and we blew them to pieces, though from what I hear they attacked us anyways." He had joined the awayteam as well as the crew of the Gam'trosha at that time but the fighting was already over by the time he made planet fall

Cher'naya had entered the ship early after having a bad time on the homeworld having to take care of of father, she didn't want to leave his side but knew being on the ship as a once in a lifetime. She came on early to avoid the others, she may meet up the ones she has met in her time on the ship but for now she wanted a bit of alone time and as the Med Bay was empty apart from her she was fine with doing this.

When the ship started to lock up tight and Cher knew there was no leaving she got up and decided to search for people she knew so she started to roam the halls "I am sure they will call me if someone suddenly needs a medic" she was saying to herself as she walked down the corridors "Oh.... I didn't tell them I was on board they may know but I will just go and make sure".

Bridge

Cher stood outside the Bridge for a few seconds then stepped in "M-Ma'am I am sorry I didn't report to you when I came on the ship" she saluted "I came on early and have been in the Med Bay since then dealing with my own demons."

Cargo Hold

Tite'yanus walked into the cargo hold to the sight of dozens of small creatures skittering around the room and gnawing on boxes and crates. Barring his teeth, the quadriped bounded forward barking out at the people around him. "Great idea, open the damned box before all of the infantrymen actually show up. That way we can half ass the job!" He leaped next to the wooden crate and started sweeping at the creatures with his tail trying to knock them away from what could possibly be sensitive equipment or, worse, explosives.

"Well, you let them out. Are you just going to stand there breathing out your mouth?"
