YINN - Akina
The outbreak of civil war in the United Norian Imperium has sent thousands fleeting to the Yamatai Empire's Tsenlan state as violence rips through the Imperium. The civil war in the Imperium began with the announcement of the death of Jol'Aestaesys Tetsuya Eitan and the rise of Sylix Lunari into power. The United Norian Imperium claims that the Eitan Ysi resisted the will of their fallen leader to allow the Lunari to take power, while resistance leaders claim that Lunari's new Chancellor Vaelaris Orinas has committed atrocities against the people of the Imperium and it's colonies. So far the conflict has remained within the astral territory of the Imperium, and both sides seem open to continuing their longstanding ties to Tsenlan and the Empire.
Senator Cheol Eitan of Tsenlan said this morning in a brief interview, "This is a United Norian Imperium issue, not an issue of Tsenlan. Unless that changes we will not be taking a side and will continue to take those who come to Akina, so long as it is feasible and permitted by the Empire. We have plenty of room now in our settlements here. So far imports of native produce, niranium and other commodities have remained stable and unaffected by the conflict. Aester Aelya and I are committed to the happiness of our people in the Empire. Tsenlan is a safe place and will continue to be and those coming here know this."
The Senator and Tsenlan Aester, recently provided safety for the former Ambassador that fled the United Norian Imperium's Embassy when the conflict first broke out. We will continue to report as we learn more about this situation.
