[Civilian Contractor] Supply runner protocols

Okay running down a list of standard protocols for a Civilian Supply runner working as a contractor to the Star Army of Yamatai.

1) Use a randomly rotating encryption that changes every shipment. – The security of our cargo, our customers and our crews are absolutely vital. To give away the identity of our cargo, our destination, our locations and our client’s endangers everyone and the war effort. Maintaining this secrecy is vital.

2) Do not directly contact the ship’s being re-supplied until the destination has been reached. – Contact on status of the shipment can give away both the runner and the ship needing to be re-supplied. It is important for the supplies to reach where they are needed and to not give enemies a chance to use supply ships as hostages.

3) Once the ship has been deployed, radio silence will be maintained at all times. No messages will be received or sent once the ship has left port or the ship it is re-supplying. Again, knowledge of our cargo, location and destination is too important to give away even for an instant.

4) When cornered run. When running is no longer an option- destroy the ship and cargo. – Make the cargo useless to the enemy by destroying it. It is a waste but if it can’t help the fleet it’s intended for, why should it help the enemy? Destruction of our valuable cargo and ship is favorable than surrender of either to the enemy.

5) No rescues. – As heartless as it may seem, we cannot afford to fall into the trap of saving distressed ships or ejected escape pods when we are carrying cargo. Any distress beacon could be a trap.

6) No Soul Saviour pods. Our crew is important but any classified information could be lost. Any back-ups should be maintained at our home ports. The less information carried on board the better.

7) No homing beacons. Anything that could give our position away is dangerous to both us and our fleet. Martyrdom is preferable to needlessly leading our friends and family to their deaths to save us.

8) In the event that the client is lost, return to home port. - Do NOT give away the ship's position. If the client ship is destroyed it is not unlikely that the enemy is in the area. Get away as fast as you can. Once back at port get reassignment.

9) All crew shall maintain current ST back-ups and wills prior to every mission. - The ship should not have the capability to restore lost crew members on board; as a transport vessel there is not a need to revive crew members during a mission. The main role of the ship's medical bay is stabilization not restoration. If anything should happen to the crew, there should be some sort of documentation of what they would like to happen with their back-ups; as well as, their assets, in the event that they do not wish to be revived or somehow cannot be revived.

10) Only authorized Star Army personnel can place supply requests or assign a supply runner clients. - To maintain the necessary security to keep coordinates of both clients and the supply runners, only specific SAoY personnel can give a ship an assignment. These assigned personnel will remain up to date of the current encryptions and know where the active ships are going. These personnel (multiple ships assigned to different persons for increased security) should only contact the supply runners for work.

11) All pay for work should be direct deposited into the ship's dispersement account at the completion of each mission; which will then, be automatically paid out to the crews' individual accounts. - Automation of the pay system makes it harder for mismanagement of funds and ensures that the cargo is getting to where it is supposed to. In the event of a lost client, the supply runner should still be partially reimbursed for their expenses provided that the cargo is still in tact.

12) In the event that a ship is lost to the enemy, it is at the Star Army of Yamatai's discretion to investigate the matter and then reimburse the crew and the families for their losses.

EDIT: I think that should be about all for this.

Oh, definately. =) If someone slips by a check, all ship communications are actually locked down the second the ship starts to leave port and only the captain and executive officers know where they are going. =)
