"We must keep reaching out, even further, so that there is always a world we can stand on and look to the sky and still see Taiie there." - Motoyoshi Tachiko, Resolutions of the Ghost - Forty-Two, YE 42
YSS Battle of Ayenee Capital City
Flagship of the Fifth Expeditionary FleetIt marked the inaugural instance when Katsuko celebrated Tsukimi while distanced from Jiyuu since YE 41. The Taisho had orchestrated an unconventional gathering this year, and at last, it had materialized. The Wardroom aboard the YSS Battle of Ayenee Capital City had been adorned in honor of the occasion. Seijin no Umi, their former capital on Taiie, was depicted in a painting, complemented by volumetric projections of Taiie's moon. Tsukimi, once a commemoration of the harvest moon beloved by Taiie's farmers and laborers, had evolved into a celebration of life, dedicated to those who had been lost, those who had endured, and the unwavering expansion of the Motoyoshi Clan into the cosmos, ensuring Taiie's enduring presence in the skies above their worlds. In approximately seventeen years, that luminous beacon would fade from Jiyuu's heavens; thus, the family, driven by their devotion to the Star Army, relentlessly reached outwards. For many among the Motoyoshi, Taiie remained a subject discussed behind closed doors, far from ears that might misconstrue their resentment towards the circumstances surrounding its obliteration. With the onset of the Third Mishhuvurthyar War just the prior month, the genuine apprehension regarding what they knew their adversaries were capable of loomed large. Consequently, the family expedited their plans for the new Tengumo-Class Space Station and other advancements destined for construction at Jiyuu, as they initiated investments in the Kosuke Sector.
Images of Taiie's Harvest Moon illuminated the scene. White candles, streaked with a vibrant shade of red, flickered atop each table. The table settings were befitting a sumptuous banquet, artfully arranged as Katsuko's personal chef, Chikafusa of House Takeda, toiled diligently in the private kitchen to prepare for the anticipated guests. Her invitations extended beyond the senior officers of her own vessel to encompass the mission team from the YSS Mazu, members of the Iron Company, key civilians from the remainder of the Colonization Fleet, and Taro's crew from the YSS Loreheim II. One end of the wardroom had been cleared to create a dance floor, promising an evening of revelry befitting the solemn significance of the occasion. This Tsukimi would be the first that Katsuko would share with Akina since her return—a moment in their relationship brimming with hope and potential. Katsuko sought to alleviate some of the somberness associated with the holiday by projecting images from happier times in the once-thriving colony, alongside those of Taiie's moon.
"Ayenee-Shosa could you please proceed to the shuttle bay? Everyone is expected to arrive shortly, and I must confer with Chikafusa," she addressed Ayenee Sayuri, who had donned a resplendent autumn-red gown for the evening. Its hues harmonized with the luminous display of the former Taiie moon, casting a subtle shimmer as it caught the ambient light. The dress, form-fitting and modest in length, accentuated her most alluring features.
"Hai, Taisho," came the response before Ayenee Sayuri gracefully descended to the shuttle bay, ready to receive their incoming guests.
