Tsukimi YE 45.8
Takes place months after Mission 1.1 Just More Questions which occurs in 45.1
"We must keep reaching out, even further, so that there is always a world we can stand on and look to the sky and still see Taiie there." - Motoyoshi Tachiko, Resolutions of the Ghost - Forty-Two, YE 42

YSS Battle of Ayenee Capital City

Flagship of the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet

It marked the inaugural instance when Katsuko celebrated Tsukimi while distanced from Jiyuu since YE 41. The Taisho had orchestrated an unconventional gathering this year, and at last, it had materialized. The Wardroom aboard the YSS Battle of Ayenee Capital City had been adorned in honor of the occasion. Seijin no Umi, their former capital on Taiie, was depicted in a painting, complemented by volumetric projections of Taiie's moon. Tsukimi, once a commemoration of the harvest moon beloved by Taiie's farmers and laborers, had evolved into a celebration of life, dedicated to those who had been lost, those who had endured, and the unwavering expansion of the Motoyoshi Clan into the cosmos, ensuring Taiie's enduring presence in the skies above their worlds. In approximately seventeen years, that luminous beacon would fade from Jiyuu's heavens; thus, the family, driven by their devotion to the Star Army, relentlessly reached outwards. For many among the Motoyoshi, Taiie remained a subject discussed behind closed doors, far from ears that might misconstrue their resentment towards the circumstances surrounding its obliteration. With the onset of the Third Mishhuvurthyar War just the prior month, the genuine apprehension regarding what they knew their adversaries were capable of loomed large. Consequently, the family expedited their plans for the new Tengumo-Class Space Station and other advancements destined for construction at Jiyuu, as they initiated investments in the Kosuke Sector.

taiie_harvest_moon_tsukimi_projection_andrew_midjourney2023.pngImages of Taiie's Harvest Moon illuminated the scene. White candles, streaked with a vibrant shade of red, flickered atop each table. The table settings were befitting a sumptuous banquet, artfully arranged as Katsuko's personal chef, Chikafusa of House Takeda, toiled diligently in the private kitchen to prepare for the anticipated guests. Her invitations extended beyond the senior officers of her own vessel to encompass the mission team from the YSS Mazu, members of the Iron Company, key civilians from the remainder of the Colonization Fleet, and Taro's crew from the YSS Loreheim II. One end of the wardroom had been cleared to create a dance floor, promising an evening of revelry befitting the solemn significance of the occasion. This Tsukimi would be the first that Katsuko would share with Akina since her return—a moment in their relationship brimming with hope and potential. Katsuko sought to alleviate some of the somberness associated with the holiday by projecting images from happier times in the once-thriving colony, alongside those of Taiie's moon.

"Ayenee-Shosa could you please proceed to the shuttle bay? Everyone is expected to arrive shortly, and I must confer with Chikafusa," she addressed Ayenee Sayuri, who had donned a resplendent autumn-red gown for the evening. Its hues harmonized with the luminous display of the former Taiie moon, casting a subtle shimmer as it caught the ambient light. The dress, form-fitting and modest in length, accentuated her most alluring features.

"Hai, Taisho," came the response before Ayenee Sayuri gracefully descended to the shuttle bay, ready to receive their incoming guests.

Akatski and Yuko

Akatski]
Growing up, Akatski had heard stories of Taiie, and she’d seen the effect it had on others like her parents, and those close to her. Though she wasn’t a psychologist, or even a ships counselor, but she had a feeling that she knew how her mother might be feeling. Because of that, she wanted to be respectful, and also to dress appropriately for the occasion. For the occasion, she chose to dress in a similar fashion to her mother, Katsuko. a form-fitting red dress, though at a darker hue so that she didn’t match, and possibly make her mother uncomfortable but also in memory what the day signified.
Her dress also hid her footwear which wasn’t the kind usually worn for formal occasions, and also to keep her feet safe from harm. They looked like formal footwear, but that’s an illusion created using volumetrics. Now dressed, she exited but waited for Yuko to join her before they went to the location where they were to meet up.

Yuko
Poor Yuko was panicking a little, as she looked through her closet, to find the perfect outfit, which would work well for someone of her skin color. There were rare colors that would work with blue coloring so she had to find something that would work, until she finally called her mother. Of course, she knew her mother loved being naked, but she didn’t think that it would be allowed today, and indeed, when she saw her mother wearing a beautiful dress that accentuated her skin color, she just had to match her mother. Yuko also had red hairbands in her hair, since her hair was black like Tachiko she thought that worked.

Now that she was dressed, in a beautiful dress she hurried out to join Akatski and when she had she saw how beautiful her cousin looked.

Together
“Wow! You look beautiful!” they both said in unison and then giggled. “come on Yuko-chan we have to go!” Akatski said as she led the way. “by the way, I heard my parents talking, and sounds like I’m gonna have a little sister, and guess what?” Yuko said as they walked. “a little sister! your so lucky, and what?”Akatski asked. “from the sounds of it, it was Uncle Daisuke who helped Mama Tachiko.” Yuko said. “what?! I’m gonna be an auntie?! cool!”Akatski squealed.

Mazumi and Makoto

Mazumi
Mazumi fussed over her dress uniform, for what seemed like the second time. She hoped to make herself look very nice but she was worried how others would take it. Finally what seemed to be the hundreds time, she was ready, so she hurried to join at the noted location, and she hoped she might be able to help the staff, but thought her big sister, Minato would want her to have fun.

Makoto
Unlike Mazumi, Akatski, and Yuko, she didn’t fuss over trying on things and worrying about what to wear, she used her imagination and it appeared, that was in and she was fine with it. But she was hesitating on one thing, which was to whether to leave her Aether Katana or not. She’d never gone anywhere without it. She’d feel safer with it on her body, so she’d taken it, and if Katsuko would prefer it be moved elsewhere she’d follow her orders of course. She silently made her way to where she needed to go.

Both
Mazumi and Makoto met at the shuttle bay, Makoto immediately noticed Mazumi’s nervousness. “you ok?’ she asked her. “Yeah, sorry I’m worried that I dressed wrong,” Mazumi said as they walked into the shuttle. “You seem correctly dressed to me, don’t worry about it,” Makoto said.

Kali Firewalker and Tammo Sheath

“You’re creating something? Why?’ Captain Sheath asked Kali after he’d arrived at Kali’s apartment, in Station Decacron in NovaTown. He’d noticed that the fabricator was creating an object that looked like a plant of some kind. “It’s customary to bring gifts when visiting someone, and the Kurosaki sisters wanted me to keep up with the friendly relations with Yugumo Corporation and their Motoyoshi Clan Masters, I thought a gift could also serve as a continuation of that, and a promise of continued friendship. “ Kali told Tammo as she turned to the fabricator and waited.

“What are you creating, and you look good in that outfit, by the way, you can’t even see your cybernetics in it. “ Tammo said, as he waited patiently to escort Kali to the shuttle, which would take them to the Fifth Fleet Flagship.

“An Orchid, it’s a flower that’s special to the Matriarch of the Motoyoshi Clan, this one however, is special, the stem is made of diamonds, and the petals are Amethysts,” Kali said as she explained what the fabricator was making, and once it was completed. She placed the creation in an epoxy resin, which allowed it to be seen, but not allow for sharp edges to cause harm. “There... I hope she enjoys this, and that it’s a good sign.” Kali said as she takes the gift, and with Tammo at her side, they walked to Station Decacron’s shuttle bay.

As usual, Tachiko was fretting about the kitchen rather than enjoying a holiday along with the other high-ranking members of the Motoyoshi Clan and the ship's officer corps out in the Wardroom. Despite Chef Chikafusa's protests and displays of competency, the pathologically fastidious Tachiko nonetheless hovered like a mother around her kittens, with leading from the front being taken to an annoying extreme in the eyes of the experienced chef. Eventually, coaxed or ejected from her position of tyranny in the galley, Tachiko joined her peers just before the Caretaker serving as Maître d'Hôtel emerged on her heels and allowed her to sit before announcing the menu.

The Neko, in a formal kimono of Star Army and Caretaker Occupation colors and YSS Battle of Ayenee City print, bowed to the room, then silently distributed the menus, printed in gold leaf and ink on silk tacked to a thin plank of hardwood.

Akina

This is never easy. Doing it with you is bearable.
Akina thought to Katsuko. The first time she was back to celebrate Taiie and remember it with her wife was important to her, so she made the trip with her instead of being there via the science of perfect holograms. The memorial usually led her to drink in excess or some other thing she thought the ones that were torn from them might enjoy at least a fraction as much as she did. Turning from lighting a candle, which she felt she needed to do, the veteran soldier smiled sadly at the image again once more and proceeded into the room proper.

"Thank you Tachiko. You look lovely." She met her when she reached Katsuko, whose hand she took to squeeze. The redhead smiled at her, and then started to look at the menu. Whatever they served would be fine as far as she was concerned. What she had even with the colonial fleet was above and beyond thanks to Tachiko and Chikafusa and his staff especially. "This is quite the service." Was offered in compliment. It seemed odd to her that so many places still used menus at all, but not everyone can review it with a digital brain and she supposed they had a certain charm and custom all their own.

Ayano

"There is usually a lot of booze at these things, but don't get sloppy unless the bigwigs do, click?" The doctor asked, floating past Mazumi and Makoto. The short woman ignored her first impulse for a change and touched their shoulders, one with each hand at the same time, as she sped through the hanger to the lift, keeping it open so everyone that came with her could pile in. Now that the crew of the Mazu had time to spend with her, it was as clear that she was giving herself advice as much as anyone else. "Come ooooon."

Akiko

The eldest of the triplets shimmered into fine lines from a volumetric projector and stood behind a seat with her name. She didn't want to waste food, but the place had to be set anyway, even if they were holding her portion back. Connecting from the YSS Tokyo, she was relieved when given the time free between her shift and mopping the sector up though it had progressed to more than that again. "Hello everyone." She noted curtly, tugging at her dress whites again. When she removed her cover to set it upon the table, it fizzled out of existence for everyone present while her eyes caught the painting.

Miu

It was a long trip, but Miu had returned from the frontier. She felt compelled to come for the rest of her family, it was much different this year than the ones before after all. The Secretary or Minister, depending on whom you asked, drifted through the doors and without word, hugged her parents from behind and kissed their cheeks. "I'm home." She announced softly.

The blue-hair (and furred) Nekovalkyrja was already looking for a new target and from her stare it looked as if Tachiko was going to get it when she was done with the two she had.

Taro

"We did our duties. We colonized worlds." a voice came from the direction of the door. Ieyasu Taro had long since retired from the Star Army. The veteran Yamataian unzipped his jacket and tossed it towards one of the chairs. "We were damn good at it too." - Motoyoshi Ieyasu Taro - Shore Leave, The Plum Princess, YE 34

The YSS Loreheim III was in the YSS Battle of Ayenee Capital City's ventral shipyard undergoing repairs after its game of cat and mouse with the new SMX Battleship, it made the trip to Tsukimi a lot shorter than the ShoSho had anticipated. He didn't have much to complain about, a few nights with Katsuko and Akina always did him some good. Tsukimi was a sore spot for Taro, more so than many of the other Motoyoshi the bulk of the Ieyasu cadet branch had been on Taiie at the time of the disaster. He held opinions of the days in YE 29 he spent in agony, people he blamed, organizations he chastised, and overall it was something he had to keep his mouth shut about to spare himself the trouble. It didn't soften the emotions any though. Katsuko had asked for a pleasant Tsukimi, a celebration of sorts and he struggled even before he got to the wardroom to see it as anything more than the neverending funeral in his heart. Those days should have been the ones that were simpler, but they just led to more dark days during the early YE 30s when their clan was torn asunder and nearly obliterated. It was funny how the silent blame of both events landed in the same place, yet couldn't be contorted into something that it was not. He was the actual potency behind their clan now, and he had offspring among those gathered. He couldn't help but stand there in the open doorway to the wardroom with his eyes focused on the shimmering image of Taiie's harvest moon.

A smile crept onto his face as he observed all the precious flowers, the sons and daughters of Katsuko, and other kin gathered in the room. It somehow made it all better to see them there, some blossoms would likely be named in the course of the evening if not after. He wore a black Yamataian suit, well cut and trim to his masculine physique beneath with a red shirt under the black coat and a black tie that was held in place by his old, original 5XF rank pin. It suited the room decor which he had a peek at earlier, not that he lacked things to do when the YSS Lorheim III was in for repairs. After a few minutes, he actually stepped into the room, he walked up to Akiko's projection and gave a poke which caused a ripple to move through the light structure, "I'd offer you a drink, but I somehow think it'd end up on the floor, How are things on the Tokyo?" he asked, he took a moment to grab a drink for himself, a small cup of umeshu to start the evening off.

The smell from the private Kitchen meant more antics from the infamous Chikafusa, no doubt his little Lily, Tachiko, was nearby. She always had a hand in these things ever since she had made them all proud with her climb to the top of revenue charts with the delectables offered at Takeda House. He looked back to Akiko and took a short sip of his drink. Hopefully, things would change soon, and more of the family would join them in the Kosuke Sector, it felt uncomfortable especially with his eldest son so far away. He looked around briefly in hopes of spotting Daisuke.

Alina and Imaizu

ALINA

Alina had not grown up in this environment or even been in the system long enough to know what Tsukimi was. However, Imaizu certainly had filled her in on every little detail when the celebration had been confirmed. It had not been on her agenda to make an appearance, but her favorite little furball made a promise that it would be worth it. Might have even promised to stop giving her head pats when she looked frustrated.

Donned in a dark purple ethereal gown and black heels she entered the wardroom where others had already begun gathering. The table settings were beautiful, she particularly enjoyed the candles streaked with red. As she walked around her eyes looked over the images of Taiie's harvest moon, marveling at its serene beauty. In her peripheral vision she spotted Akina and Katsuko having what appeared to be a private conversation, her eyes flicked back to the images when she received a menu from Tachiko. "Thank you Taii," she offered rendering the appropriate greetings. The offerings listed seemed to match the occasion and definetly worth of coming out of her cave to a social event. Food was certainly one way to get her to go anywhere. While she was lost in the menu she felt a playful nudge on her side.

IMAIZU

The short nekovalkyrja gave her introverted friend another nudge hopping up on her toes, bringing the heels of her formal shoes off the ground.
"Ooooo what's on the menu?" she inquired. While giving Alina some time to respond she rested her heels back on the ground adjusting her black gown, smoothing out any wrinkles. This moment hit her a little more than perhaps it had the Norian next to her, but she suspected given the circumstances her pointy eared friend could comprehend the seriousness of it. She was simply happy to not have to attend this alone.

ALINA and IMAIZU

Alina looked over at Imaizu with a small grin.
"Food silly, things both you and I can partake in. You know you are the only one that sneaks up on me like that?" the Norian responded handing the menu to Imaizu. "Oh har har, I am the only one here you let close enough. So it is not that hard to fathom. Keep it up and I will find a chair to climb on to give you more head pats and you will have to take them." Imaizu said in a playful whisper so as not to disturb the others. Alina closed her eyes a moment so no one saw her roll them. "Thank you for coming." Imaizu said in a more serious tone.

Tachiko's semi-formal kimono of purple and gold remained immaculate despite her stint interfering in the kitchen, a testament to the interplay between Nekovalkyrja grace and practiced skill above the wok. She smiled back from its voluminous silken folds at Akina's compliment as she sat down beside Yuuko, one of the newest Nekovalkyrja in the Clan. The resemblance between them, despite the younger's blue-toned kin, was undeniable.

While the servers began placing the mats and spoons for the amuse-bouche, Tachiko was helpless against the looming threat of Miu hugs. She could naught but quiver as prey, hand on Yuuko's knee as her ears gently slumped. "M-Miu-nee?"

Katsuko

Katsuko had just finished her meeting with the Chef and took a moment to change her outfit when she returned. Like Taro, she was dressed in black, but her dress was form-fitting and showcased her legs. She wore a jeweled hummingbird brooch and comfortable black flats instead of heels. She quietly entered the room, passing by Taro and stopping to talk to Tachiko.

"I just spoke with Chikafusa," she began, giving her daughter a warm hug. "He's quite worried about missing Sea Bass, but I'm sure he'll be fine," she added with a smile, releasing Tachiko and scanning the room.

She thought about her spouse, realizing that she was coping as best as she could. She refrained from rushing over to her, knowing that Akina would find her eventually, as she always did. Katsuko exchanged a knowing smile with Akina from across the room and greeted Miu. Once she did, Katsuko squeezed her hand in return. //"You are here with me, that makes it bearable for me too."//

"Miu, my dear, you made it. How was the trip?" she inquired. "You'll have to fill me in on all the political drama; I haven't had much time to follow politics since we left," she admitted, though that was precisely why they had left in the first place. Katsuko had come dangerously close to using Auda for her own purposes, a choice she didn't regret, she had almost used her to seek revenge on the liberal-slanted politicians who had slighted her.

Taking a moment to observe the room and its occupants, she noticed Taro's expression. She smiled at Miu before turning her attention back to Akina, who had finally reached her and squeezed her hand. Katsuko knew she'd have to say a few words before dinner officially began, as waiters prepared the amuse-bouche.

Kaoru and Sorin

As for Kaoru, she and her Norian companion, Sorin, entered the room. Kaoru, not one to dress up much off-duty during deployments, had chosen a black evening dress adorned with peony and Ume-blossom floral patterns, complete with a daring thigh slit. She walked alongside Sorin, who wore a handsome Yamataian trim suit infused with intricate Norian designs, symbolizing the merging of his culture with the Empire's.

Sorin greeted Alina warmly, "Alina, the uniform fits you," he said with a smile, "I don't know if you remember me. I knew your mother, I'm Sorin Cae--Eitan,". Kaoru added with a gentle smile, "Oh, speaking of Norians, love, the bags." She took one of the bags from Sorin and revealed a cask of chacelle, a prized Norian sweet wine, as a gift for the Motoyoshi hosts. She handed the bottle and the bag which had several other bottles of the drink to the waiter so they could be placed on the tables.

Akatski and Yuko

Akatski and Yuko both found their seats, since the one’s they wanted to greet were busy. The girls were well behaved girls raised right, and they didn’t want to interupt them. Yuko smiled as her mother sat down beside her, and she reached up to give Tachiko a hug. “Mama! how are you? have you been well?” she asked her mother before she blinked when she spoke. “Miu-nee?’ she asked her, which meant her aunt Miu was very close by.

Akatski looked over as Tachiko, had sat beside her and smiled at her elder sister. “hello Elder Sister Tachiko!” she said, before Tachiko caught sight of Miu, and a smile flickered onto her lips, as she shot out of her chair. “hiiii!” she said as she proceeded to hug Miu. “Hiya big sister!” She was all smiles as she hugged then she saw Ayano arriving. This caused her smile to widen, while she did love her other sisters, Ayano was the one sister that she had more of a relationship. “Sorry Yuko-chan, Miu-neesama, Tachiko-neesama! have to hug Ayano now!” She said as she walked like a proper lady towards her, Makoto and Mazumi.

Mazumi and Makoto

“Yes, that is correct, that is sometimes the case. Doctor Butt Slapper” Mazumi said to the doctor, with a smile on her face as she and Makoto made their approach of the elevator doors, and entered it along with any others in their crew. “Minato-neesama wants me to enjoy myself so I hope I can, but I hope you can be my guide in this, Doctor” she said to Ayano.

Makoto blinked at Ayano’s antics, but gave a rueful smile, which disappeared the moment Mazumi addressed Ayano. “ok.. I have to ask.. why exactly are you calling her Doctor Butt Slapper?” Makoto asked Mazumi. with her eyes blinking in confusion.

“cause she likes slapping butts” Mazumi replied simply. Soon the three would find themselves moved to the other ship where the party was being held and they spotted another Neko flying towards them, rather towards Ayano. the two recognized the family resemblance immediately.

Kali Firewalker and Tammo Sheath

Kali and Tammo had made it onto the other ship where they were met with a escort, assigned to guide them to where they needed to go. Kali held her gift close hoping she wouldn’t be causing a faux pas, in giving her the gift as they were led. Soon the scenery changed and the two were in awe as their escort took them right too Katsuko who was standing close by Akina, and Taro. “heika!” Their escort bowed as was proper. “your other guests from the Mining Guild Contingent have arrived, this is their leader, Kali Firewalker, and he is Captain Tammo Sheath, captain of their Flagship.” Their guide introduced, and stepped asside.

“I’m honored to speak to you in person, though I’d certainly would like a longer chance, but I am aware guests may still be arriving. So, my companion and I will of course move aside, but If it is allowed, I have brought a gift, which I hope conveys a promise, of continued friendship. “ Kali the Cyborg Deer indicated the Gemstone Orchid.

Alina and Imaizu

Alina's ears twitched at the sound of a familiar voice. A voice that was not among the listed crew. "Sorin, you flatter me. Might I say cultural infusion suits you well." she said in a nod to his suit and Kaoru. She slipped over giving him a warm friendly hug before stepping back next to Imaizu. "How could I forget you?" she switched to their shared vesper "Playing stowaway are we?" she sent with a hint of playful sass. Meanwhile Imaizu watched this unfold with her jaw dropped. Not only had Alina hugged Sorin, but Alina had not even back sassed him when he complimented her. The neko was now half convinced there was some wizardry afoot. Though both women were distracted by the chacelle when Kaoru revealed it. Imaizu nudged Alina and whispered, "I've changed my mind, I will stop giving you headpats, if someday you get me some of that."

The Norian woman smirked a bit at her companion then looked back up to Kaoru, "That is a very considerate gift Taisa." she said with a slight nod. "Don't let us hold you up if there is somewhere you two need to be, we're not quite sure of where the night is going to take us so we might just be a hindrance." Alina echoed with an affirmative nod from Imaizu who was currently eyeing up Sorin.

YSS Battle of Ayenee Capital City

In the shuttle bay, a number of heavily armed gunships began their landing procedure were ungainly things; long, with a blunt, wide nose along the large cockpit, and with a pair of wings stretching outwards and a pair of fins connected by yet another wing to help stabilize them in the atmosphere-the two turrets; one on each side of the craft towards the rear panning as they checked their LZ. The massive engines belched their radioactive plasma as they powered down in favor of their built-in ion thrusters. Some of them set down less than gently, their landing gear striking sparks and causing the soldiers inside to curse as they were jostled around. ("Ancestor's Damn it; we need better pilots.") Morris sighed as one of the men struggled with his harness-most of them were dressed in hardsuits for one simple reason.

The damned Universal Gunships didn't always seal right-or the dumbass piloting forgot the sealing sequence, but usually the former.

Alexei, that short tech, was already clear of his harness and had cleared the door before any of them had a chance to get free. ("Are you all going to tarry all day,") He snapped, looking back at the bunch, ("Or are you actually going to get moving; our employer is awaiting us.") The master smith walked off without a word, and as Morris watched him go one of the men, finally getting free glowered at the short man's back. ("I'd like to punt that little bastard.") The yeoman sergeant couldn't help but agree; Alexei was more abrasive than most of the smiths he'd worked with in the past. Freeing himself as the others did, they all filed out. ("Form up lads!") Morris barked, as he spotted the master smith standing with several others. As they organized, Morris looked around, before realizing-

("So where do we go now?") He asked no one in particular. Alexei simply sighed in frustration, doing his best not to facepalm.

Katsuko

Katsuko paused for a moment, excusing herself from Miu to address the representatives from the mining guild. She offered a respectful bow and greeted them, "Welcome to the YSS Battle of Ayenee Capital City. I'm honored by your presence." As one of the women responded, she graciously said, "Thank you, the gift is much appreciated though not necessary. We can discuss it further after dinner if you like. I have a small token for you as well." Although she wanted to continue the conversation with them and Miu, the flow of arriving guests demanded her attention. "I must excuse myself now, but I look forward to catching up later during dinner. Please make yourselves at home," she said respectfully, before shifting her focus away from the gathering. She then headed towards the kitchen to hopefully find that the chef had resolved the earlier issue.

Kaoru and Sorin

"Thank you, Alina," responded Sorin, appreciating her compliment. Then, addressing her other inquiry via Vesper, he said, "Being here is preferable to being stuck on a planet, constantly nagged. I'm considering joining the Yugumo Corporation; it seems a good fit for me." His expression remained unchanged, revealing no emotion. However, it was clear that Tsenlan didn't interest him much. He had found his niche in Yamataian society and had no intention of letting it go.

Kaoru glanced around and asked, "You're welcome. May we join you, actually?"

Sayuri

The Shosa's heeled shoes clicked on the polished black floor of the BACC's shuttle bay. She approached Alexei and his men and said, just in time to answer Morris' question. "If you all just follow me, we can get you up to the wardroom." She felt a little out of place being in such a fancy dress, it was strange not being in uniform. She rarely left the ship even though she had the right to her own life. "Is this your first time on an Izanagi-Class?" she asked Alexei, as she led the way toward the Wardroom through the guts of the ship. Security was tight, after all - they had civilian guests, so everyone on the ship who was not at the party was being extra vigilant no one accidentally got lost or came into contact with any restricted technology.

Ayano

"I like doing all the things to butts." Ayano corrected the record, "I can use you both to demonstrate but I think I'd be shot out of a cannon if I did it here and now-ohhh hi sweets. C'mereeee." It almost looked like she put Akatski in a headlock, but she did actually get both arms around her to give her a hug that was stronger, and less gentle than her older sister Miu. That, and there wasn't really any extra cushion. It always felt like she was going to never let go, or just drag her victim around whatever function they were at without letting go. It took more drinks or...other things for the good doctor to be gentle like Miu, or appropriate and prim like Akiko. Akiko when she wasn't a hologram.

"Oh hey, 's Miu too. She told me she was coming but I was working on something, guess I forgot a little. How are moms? Got a read yet?" She wasn't so sure she wanted to go over, at a different function interrupting made sense, because it was fun, but where they were had sapped all that out of her. The occassion wasn't one to be fucked with.

Miu

Miu peered past her parents to where Katsuko was excusing herself. "Oh, send them my way if you finish early. It would be nice to talk with them a spell in person for a change. Well the ones I recognize." The amount of paperwork she was involved in since being appointed to the cabinet position by Hanako had been less than she imagined thanks to help from her staff, but there was still so much. It did include a lot of meetings too, with public and private representitives and resources. So. Many. Meetings.

The blue-haired Shimiyoshi (something only she thought was funny, which is why she kept it to herself) hugged Akina again and shuffled with her drink over to Tachiko, putting it down on the table so she could get her with both arms (and the rest) from behind, rubbing and messing up her hair with her soft cheek. The middle sister's expression was calm, comfortable really, and she emitted a breezy and warm, "Hiiiii Tachiko. What's going on?"

Akina

Not about to let go of Katsuko, the other Taisho followed her wife and kept her left hand until they had to actually use one to hold a drink and the other to shake, or bow, depending on the person. The redhead was more of a shake and salute type than bow, if she had a choice. A spare glance went to everyone getting on well, but she was anything if distracted by Katsuko. With their fleets on a joint operation, they were together almost as much as when Taiie was still a settled system.

I can run interference for the next group if you want more time with them. She offered helpfully, glancing towards the doors as if the mere thought would bring more guests past the threshold.

The chef had indeed resolved issue, as the horrified staff, nearly ready to serve, almost cowered at Katsuko's entrance. Chikafusa coughed, "Heika, please be seated!" He and the Maître d'Hôtel then politely ushered the guest of honor out.

Tachiko, having hugged out her pleasantries with Katusko and Akina and her Yuuko, was now subject to Miu's affections. This Nekovalkyja never failed to triple-check herself in the mirror before emerging from her room, whether in dress uniform or casualwear, or anywhere in between, let her ears flop forward helplessly. Trying not to squirm or stiffen, though she desperately wanted to at the feeling of her meticulously-parallel hair being mussed.

Thankfully for Tachiko, she was saved by the amusée-bouche.

Several commanding, sharp, twangy notes of the biwa rung out, followed by high-pitched, almost tonal clack of the hyōshigi and the sibilant zip of the binzasara.

"Amusée Bouche: 'Moon's First Light,'" announced the Maître d'Hôtel in a practiced tone, somehow both commanding and wistful, after rising from a deep bow, "Chilled Taiie Melon Gazpacho with Starfruit and Mint!" The biwa and percussion sounded once more, and the serving staff began to set out the covered, chilled tureens before each of the diners, starting with Katsuko and Akina, and expanding outwards; the frost on the silver surfaces was boiling away into mist before their eyes, and the servers and Maître d'Hôtel were gone as suddenly as they'd appeared.

The soft strings of the chamber quartet resumed, and dinner had officially begun to be served.

Mining Guild
Kali smiled as the gift had been appreciated though it wasn’t necessary. One Of Katsuko’s aids took her gift. “Ah, excellent, I look forward to discussing, it and other things, and especially, to seeing this small token.” Kali said to Katsuko, and they noted the new arrivals, which is why they figured they’d needed to separate for a bit. “Indeed, I shall see you soon, Come, Captain!” Kali said as their guide brought Kali and Tammo to their designated seating.

Yuko, Akatski, Mazumi and Makoto
Makoto still blinked her eyes at Ayano’s words. like doing all things to butts…Ayano of the Motoyoshi clan is odd Makoto thought before Akatski’s presence interrupted Ayano from saying anything more. Mazumi on the other hand just chuckled at Ayano’s words, and she thought Ayano might just be like her mother. Now that Akatski was distracting Ayano, Mazumi gently pushed Makoto and made her move away quickly.

As they entered, Mazumi spotted Akina and Katsuko going to the kitchen, so she was about to turn and move when she was held back by Makoto. “I thought your sister wanted you to enjoy yourself here, not work, come on! You’re on break from the Soggy Hole.” Makoto said as she guided Mazumi towards the seating. Ignoring Mazumi’s pleading look towards the kitchen.

Even if she was supposed to be on a break from work, she wanted to help.
Akatski giggled as she was given a tight not so gentle hug from Ayano, just like she expected of her elder sister. Her feet left the floor beneath as she wrapped them around her sister, and rested her head against her sister’s chest. “Moms are ok” she said though not sure what Ayano meant about read yet. “They and papa Taro wants me to join Star Army, but fortunately I was able to get them to let me join as a science officer” She said then smiled as she turned her head to look at her sister. “So, I will soon have to call you something else instead of big sister, unless it’s ok if I still do so?” she asked her.

Yuko smiled as Miu came over. “hii aunt Miu!” she said and waited for her turn to get a hug.

ALINA and IMAIZU

Alina bowed her head for a slight moment in response to Sorin's thanks. "Of course." she responded. Turning to vesper she shared her dislike for being nagged, "Indeed, though it seems like you are adjusting better than I socially. Though if you need some place to hide here my cabin is empty unless I am in it. It would stay between you, me, Minato and the wall." she communicated with only the best of wholesome intents for an old friend. "What makes you think that Yugumo Corporation is a good fit for you?" she inquired with an air of curiosity in private communication. He could likely tell that she had not been as exposed to Yamataian society as he had.

Imaizu playfully whacked Alina's side eliciting a rare side eye from the Norian. The short Neko perked up, "Of course you may! We would lo." her attention distracted by the resumption of the quartet as it appeared dinner was being served. "It looks like dinner is being served. Shall we sit?"

"No, not this particular class of vessel, but I have been aboard a Star Army vessel before," Alexei responded curtly as they made their way to the wardroom-and hadn't that been fun? ("Could be a little more courteous there Alexei.") Morris responded in Valhallan; he had plenty of patience for his subordinates-though technically the smith outranked him-but the short man was beginning to grate on his nerves. The smith didn't bother looking back but instead gave a response of ("I was being polite.") This rankled him something fierce as he clenched and unclenched his fists; it reminded him of Revjak-just without the bullshit of being a noble.

("Just beat his arse already.") Someone muttered. The big man was sorely tempted to, but there was a time and a place for that. Maybe he'd have an opportunity later. For now, he'd try and get some semblance of politeness from the little man. ("Maybe because he's so short he's got a complex.") This drew some chuckles, though Alexei gave no response. Either he didn't hear or more likely didn't care. The latter was more likely the case than the former; the man had shown so far complete disregard for any sort of niceties. He wondered what would happen when they met her ladyship face to face.

That thought of that alone brought a smile to the big man's face-it'd be interesting to see if she tossed him out of an airlock.
