While the rest of the marines continued on with bickering and throwing out ideas for the operation itself, Rico remained relatively silent as he assessed each plan, running it through his head and trying to match it to the scene playing out in front of him. The sergeant more or less ignored most of the transmissions sent to him...not out of disrespect, but to keep his train of thought on the prize, rather than jumping into the fuss his men were making. After he had his fill of suggestions, Rico coughed into his mic to garner the attention of the squad.
"Well, from the looks a' things down there, I doubt we'll be able to hit it head on...they obviously got some pretty damn good sensor equipment down there, 'cause they fill up any weak spots they get from stretchin' the line pretty damn fast." Rico pointed down at a similar instance of that particular plan being staged as they spoke down below. A small squad of Green armors erupted from the underbrush on the other side of the main battle, to where the would supposedly be the weakest...but the stressed area was quickly filled back and reinforced with additional forces that seemed to burst up from hiding in the kelpy underbrush. An all-around attack wouldn't work, either...stretching their own forces would leave weakened and hard-pressed to advance on such numbers.
"Then...there's that caverns idea. If ya'll would've not been bitchin', you would've noticed one a' them big subs come in from the sides every now an' then," Rico smirked smugly at his observation...probably the first good one he'd ever made while being silent. Usually, he would've been right back into all that in-fighting, however at the moment he still had his career on his mind. As good a motivation as any. "'though, if they got any tunnel systems, they're hidin' 'em, 'cause I ain't pickin' up nothin' through all this damn sensor static."
Rico turned to Stromm after another moment or two. "That's all I got baby. If you got somethin', I'm all ears."
