RP: Cirrus Station [Episode 4] A Pleasant Dinner

George, indeed, was still holding his rifle, staring intently as the battle flared onward. He was leaning on the weapon as though it were a cane off to the sidelines. Lenny right beside him was clapping gleefully at the spectacle of the battle raging on in the center of the field, an occasional droplet of paint falling from his frame.

Serra had noticed the opposing team advancing on her position, and if they chose to look from their placement after their chat, they would see Serra, peeking over the barrier wall, from behind the sights of her stainball rifle, which was still fully loaded, pointing in Claire and Deacon's general direction. (since they were the closest ones that were any real game related threat at the moment.)

Deacon looked around the corner, taking notice of Serra's more aggressive stance behind her hiding place. He then looked over to see Tweak, the other members of Blue team, and then to where he guessed the Administrator to be hiding.

Taking a breath, he would lean back around the corner and furrow his brows. It was a large decision trying to come up with a plausible plan to end this little game.

Claire had a point, the Administrator did not seem to be one who took losing well, or even the thought that she was not the best and superior in every way, but at the same time, maybe this little game, if she did lose it, would help her along a path to being a better person.

The Kohanian looked back around the corner, taking special care not to present a target for Serra to hit. He focused all his senses, this would have to be done quickly, and without mistake...He was going to take hostage the other team's leader, ending the conflict. Or...he hoped that was what he would do.

After a few more moments, he turned back to Claire and tossed his rifle towards her.

"Here, if I get into trouble, I would rather we have an extra gun on the field for the team to use. And with what I am planning, it will not be of any use to me."

He then knelt back down, like he had before the game, and began to pray to the gods of the hunt, that they would look favorably on him, and deliver unto him his prey. Also, he asked the blessing of the wind, that it would guide him quickly through the battlefield and protect him from the slings and arrows of his enemies.

Cassefin, unaware of Deacon's position and intentions, was still focused on Tweak (and the distant Jen) as she began backpedaling whilst casting quick sidelong glances for cover. The Head Administrator found some...in a rather unexpected way, as one of the barriers began rising in her backward-treading path. Cassefin's foot caught the tip of the barricade as it started rising, tripping onto her rear with a surprised huff of air before frantically scrambling back upright. Truth be told, she wasn't sure what Tweak was up to, but previous experiences with the strange Freespacer made her wary of anything.

The red-haired Administrator knelt down behind the slowly rising slab of white wall, facing the center of the Barrier Field with her back to the Corridor Maze. Her weapon pointed in Tweak's direction, the Administrator granted herself a few precious seconds to perfect her self-proclaimed flawless marksmanship.

"If you're sure, hon." Claire nodded her head and took a deep breath. "Don't get hit before you reach her, alright? I'll keep the Angel off your back." She wasn't sure what she was to do with the second rifle, but she holstered it regardless and kept her original in her hands.

When Deacon looked ready, she moved around her cover, still crouching and moving to the next closest one towards Serra. She fired in her direction for covering fire in hopes of keeping her head down while Deacon (and hopefully Tweak as well) took care of their administrator. She wasn't sure how motivated her opponent was in this fight, considering she basically had stayed out of the greater part of the match. She didn't slow down as she moved though, not giving Serra any greater chance to hit her if she could help it.

Claire was also starting to notice how uncomfortable the suits were, especially when she crouched. As much as she enjoyed showing off, they weren't exactly ideal for this.

Jen moved to cover right before the paint splattered against the wall that thankfully held against the H.A.'s attack. Jen then moved cover to cover, only to keep Cassefin within range and sight. She stopped to sigh for a second as there was less return fire and as the fight seemed to descend into a one sided fight, and then checked her ammo to notice she was starting to run low. The female Nepleslian contemplated the situation, Damn it, runnin' low, I hope those guys hurry up and finish this already. I don't want the commander fussing over my CSS Suit getting a little paint on it.

Jen then looked over her current cover only to not have a target, she cocked her head in curiosity though the target did seem to be getting up which seemed odd for only a second as she saw how Cassefin was aiming her weapon, Though I can't really see this distance, the H.A. does seem like she knows how to shoot, however she put those thoughts of praise aside and carefully aimed to fire close to the H.A.'s cover without actually hitting, hopefully distracting the fire. She fired 2 shot bursts, keeping up some suppression fire while not blasting out her remaining ammo.

And just as Jen's gun began to fire those two burst shots, a brownish blur streaked out from the corridor maze, running full speed, low to the ground, and bounding back and forth in seemingly unmeasured zig zags across the open area of the main corridor.

The very odd thing, was that Deacon was not running directly at the Head Administrator, but actually making his way behind her so that she would not be able to turn and run from him. If she wished to get away from the focused Kohanian hunter, she would have to run further into the main corridor, and right towards Claire and Jen.

Running on all fours, Deacon rounded all the way across the main corridor, and actually sprinted just in front of the wall Serra had been hiding behind the entire game, and bounded up to the outside wall of the corridor maze, took three steps up it, and corkscrewed his body through the air to try and tackle the head administrator from behind and above. Even if the walls rose up to meet him, he was ready, sinewy and powerful arms flexed to catch the edge of any wall and use it's momentum to flip over it, and fling himself down on his prey.

He's crazy...

Tweak followed Deacon's movements while keeping her focus on Cassifin. Once Deacon started getting closer, though, she sprinted toward George and snatched at the gun he still held. If Deacon was going to hold her down or tackle her, Tweak was going to be ready to take the shot.

As Tweak hurriedly approached George, Lenny and Lorcan on the sidelines, George's eyes perked up. He smiled in slight confusion as he opened his mouth to greet the Freespacer...but he barely got out so much as a single puff of air before Tweak took away his rifle that he had been leaning on. Of course, without the sudden support, the short Nepleslian stumbled to the ground with a surprised cough. By the time he got back up, Tweak had already ran back into the fray.

---

Cassefin tried to follow Tweak's movements as best as she could while she aimed, but was interrupted by another volley of paint from Jen's side of the room; that lady was becoming quite a nuisance. The Head Administrator growled and she knelt down to weather Jen's assault...and out of the corner of her eye, she saw a flash of movement as Deacon leaped towards her from behind. Despite his anticipation, nothing came in between him and the Head Administrator...not so much as a single panel of the floor moved for the entire series of actions.

With barely enough time to react, Cassefin swung her weapon around and fired wildly at the object looming overhead mere seconds before it landed on top of her. Cassefin yelped in shock as she was knocked down, flailing her arms around wildly in a desperate attempt to stave off her unknown attacker. Through all of the confusion, however, Cassefin could easily make out the distinct features of Deacon's unique physique...and knowing just who her attacker was made her even more angry at the position she was in.

"Grah! You mangy twit! GET OFF ME THIS INSTANT" Cassefin demanded, pushing against the Kohanian with any limb she could get leverage on.

Tweak suppressed a smile as she paused mid-dash, then took up a proper firing stance and aimed while Deacon had Cassifin pinned.

There was a triple-thump of compressed air as three stainballs headed toward the helpless(?) administrator. Tweak only hoped that this time they hit their intended target as she made sure to aim where it was impossible for Deacon to be. Namely, at the floor directly below Cassifin. Once the balls hit, they'd be sure to splatter her...and once Cassifin stopped moving to wipe it off, Tweak intended to fire at her directly since it would be less likely that Deacon would be moved into the line of fire. It was a little over-cautious, she knew, but better than accidentally eliminating one of her teammates from the match.

Lorcan grinned as Tweak dashed over, took George's gun and raced off. Lorcan straightened up and after a careful check of the shirt beneath his coat he stripped out of his trench coat and handed it to George in place of his Rifle. Pulling off his boots and socks to give his feet better gripping power. Then with a grin he said "Time to play dirty boys...". He stuck his own gun through his belt and pulled his datapad from his pocket, turned the volume up and pushed play. Leaving the datapad at Lenny's feet he checked his position and started off, his feet making minimal noise as he headed for the outer maze wall...

When In Doubt, Play Dirty

While Cassefin was busy batting her fists at Deacon's chest in a futile attempt to move him, she barely noticed the small splatters of paint ricocheted from Tweak's gun. Several splotches of red streaked across the upper part of her uniform as he arms flailed wildly, he only apparent concern being removing the large, heavy obstruction in her way. This went on for a while until she caught a glance of a long red stain on her arm and, for but a moment, brought her assault to a dead-stop to inspect the odd addition to her uniform with a quizzical "Huh?"

Serra ducked her head slightly to evade the shots fired by Claire, but she paused slightly when she heard the H.A get tackled by Deacon. Taking slight advantage of the people focusing on Cassifin, Serra turned her sights to Both Tweak and Deacon. With, admittedly little actual skill, but detailed mathematical angling, Serra fired off two three ball spreads before spinning her gun back to Claire and firing off another three spread.

Noticing more movement, She beaded onto Jen and fired a high two shot, hoping to use arched trajectory to flush her out of her hiding spot.

"Sometimes it's nice to be the ignored one." Serra whispered to herself from her secured little corner of the battle field. With the natural corner the barriers make, she quite possibly has the easiest defensive position on the team.

Unfortunately for Serra, Claire had already found cover. The shots did make her keep her head down though. With her back to the barrier she crouched behind she took a deep breath to focus. She couldn't help but smirk a little as she heard the administrator's scream. At least it was one of shock and not pain. (She really had worried about Deacon injuring her. For all her bravado, Cassefin did seem kind of frail, especially when compared to the squad.)

However, with the way she was facing, she noticed movement on the other side. Wasn't he the guy who had hit on her and Keziah earlier? Of course, she did not see Tweak landing shots on him and she was a bit far away to notice the red yet. Nonetheless, Claire raised her rifle and, while keeping it slightly in front of him to account for his movement and the fact that the paintballs were a bit slower than normal bullets, fired three short bursts of three bullets each. Without checking to see if her shots had hit or not, she reloaded since her cartridge had actually run dry by now.

Tweak noticed that the administrator wasn't going to move how she thought and adjusted to just hit Cassifin point-blank. Then she dropped to the ground as the triple-pops of Serra's shots came from behind, letting the stainballs sail over her, which she returned with her own triple-shot spread at Serra's position. All of this was done with picture-perfect military precision.

(edited to fix a misunderstanding)

Deacon just weathered the beatings on his chest with a smirk. When he noticed the smears of red along her uniform, he canted his head to the side and remarked with a calm.

"I believe that means that you are out, yes?"

But he did not wait for her response, he had to make sure that the administrator was out, and therefore attempted to wrap his arms entirely around her, pinning her own arms to her side, and essentially removing the use of her gun as a possibility. Then, he would lift her off the ground, and sort of walk/waddle her out from her cover to where she made and easy target. Or that would have been the plan if Serra had not started taking potshots at him.

He dropped to the ground as ears twitched at the sound of the gun being fired, and then her little comment about it being good to be ignored.

"Oh, you haven't been ignored, Harpy...You just were not worth my time just yet."

With a curling of his lip into a snarl, the hyena looked up at Cassefin and decided that this was going to end now, and even if it meant his getting out, or worse, he was going to put an end to it...He curled his legs under him, and using all of their power tackled himself into Cassefin, driving his shoulder up and into her stomach to push them both out of the hiding place and drive them out into the open where he would try and just push her right into Tweak or Claire's waiting lines of fire. As Cassefin no doubt would stumble from having almost 300 pounds of muscle slam into her stomach and drive the air from her lungs, Deacon would not follow her, and would instead start sprinting on all fours right towards the hiding elysian.

"This ends now." He told himself.

With barely enough time to react after the sudden shock of seeing splotches of red across her own uniform, Cassefin cried out in surprise as Deacon forcefully pushed her out into the barren center field. The crowd, who had been watching the entertaining turn of events, fell very silent as Cassefin cursed loudly and staggered to her feet with a few coughs. Mimi, who was watching on the sidelines, clasped her hands over her mouth in surprise...even Kess (hidden on the farthest balcony overlooking the battle below) furrowed her brow at Deacons action. As Cassefin rose, she looked positively infuriated...but even she couldn't hide the several streaks of paint across her uniform.

With a spot of reluctance, the Head Administrator dropped her weapon and, with a defeated sigh, raised her arms in the manner which declared her out of the competition.

Tweak looked a little surprised at Deacon. Sure, he had a bit of a...well, she supposed 'feral side' was appropriate, but the administrator was already out. Bodily knocking her into the open was unnecessary at that point. She let the incident leave her mind, though, and focused on taking the Elysian out of cover.

With Cassifin off the field, Tweak took cover behind the tallest of the string of barriers that Headmaster Real had taken advantage of moments before. Picking out Serra's position, Tweak left her cover and headed toward the teacup spinners, leaving Claire to cover the attack vector from the maze. Serra was quite thoroughly trapped, since Jen also covered from above.

Jen had kept up her barrage until she saw that the H.A. was pinned down by the big cat like thing. While cheering her side had finally taken out the target, a barrage headed her way and the marine move back to cover only to feel some pain on her right shoulder. She looked down to see a nice team 2 colored splotch on her PA. A bit disappointed, she got up with her hands in the air leaving her gun behind that only had a few rounds to spare anyway. "Well the fun's over," she muttered, looking froward to running laps by the order of her superior for adding color to her battle armor.

Just about to 'jump the walls' a really, really, positively outrageously suggestive song... sung by one of the most positively hated females in all of Nepleslian society came over his Data Pad. Lorcan, temporarily distracted, collided with the maze wall with a nice solid sound. It took a little before he managed to peel himself off the wall and holding a hand beneath a bloody noose stalked over to his datapad to silence the song where it stood. Beet red he tucked the datapad into a pocket, snatched his coat up and headed for the nearest bathroom so he didn't get blood all over the floor.

Mission FAILED.
