RP: Cirrus Station [Episode 4] A Pleasant Dinner

Deacon silently stayed with the rest of the group marked as Blue Team, using that to mean he had chosen the team with most of the people he had bonded with. He was, of course, a little disappointed to see George, the one the Kohanian had made a connection with over music, choose the other team, but he remained with Tweak, and her analytical mind was a happy thing to see on a team squaring off against the self proclaimed genius of Cassefin.

Also on his team was the Druidess Dream, who had a knack for getting past the facades people put on, so another good team member. Then there were the two ladies who had done so well on Prilissa IV, they didn't seem the type to back down from battle, so there were two more members he could associate with.

And then there was Stovaa.

The hyena watched him carefully for a few moments, apathetic look on his face at having to team up with the large male. They had had initial differences, but there was something about him, Deacon narrowed his golden gaze and a smirk made its way onto his lips.

Oh yes, this will be a very educational game. He thought silently to himself, crouching down to sit on his haunches, staring over at the red team before him.

Very educational indeed.

"Well this is going to be fun then," Jen replied to the bulky man. Better than patrol duty at least, she thought to herself, though truthfully, I kinda wanted to be on Red Team. I like havin' more targets to shoot.

Her smirk gave away her thoughts, and after a couple of minutes she snapped out of and asked, "So any idea on the terrain? Or we going to do it in this hallway?"

Cassefin smiled wryly as Jen asked her question and quietly tapped one last article on her small volumetric screen before it faded away. Almost immediately, the nanocontruction floor turned from a tasteful wooden hue to a stark off-white. The floor itself began spreading outwards from the center, causing a few straggling science crew to flee towards the stairways and the much safer upper floors overlooking the center stage. One unlucky fellow who was just exiting his room on the lower floor was immediately pushed back in. Once the off-white floor had covered nearly the entire bottom floor, several large divots and protrusions rose and fell from the canvas-like floor, creating a large 'play area' with plenty of nooks, crannies, treacherous overpasses, dangerously barren corridors, and plenty of cover for the boys and girls awaiting their instructions on the sidelines.

As all of this happened, Cassefin stepped onto the newly-created white floor and almost immediately was enveloped by a series of walls, obscuring her from the rest of the squad and the rest of the room. There were some ruffling and grunting sounds for a minute or two as the rest of the arena was created, and when it was finally finished forming, the walls previously blocking the Head Administrator from sight also melted back away, revealing a Cassefin Montreal a tad different from the one previously seen.

The 'box' that Cassefin had conjured was apparently little more than a cover for a quick costume change, it seemed. Her gaudy, overdone dinner dress folded neatly in her hand, Cassefin twirled around in her new 'outfit'...a tight white jumpsuit lined with blaring red stripes complete with matching boots and gloves, a uniform to what most professional Stainball players might have worn during games. Her beloved spectacles were no longer present either, a pair of heavy, clear goggles in their stead strapped just above her brow-line. Perhaps the most noticeable change, however, was not the outfit itself but rather Cassefin's chest..which had went from size "Eh, Okay" to "Jumping Delsaurians on a Stick They're Huge". In fact, only the thickest of the thickheaded would not have noticed the ludicrously dramatic change in the Head Administrators bustline...they were, after all, normal-sized just barely a minute ago in her dinner gown. They were roughly the size of Dream's...if even a tad larger. The entire room turned awful silent at that point, as though nobody dared even breath less someone mention the new 'additions' to Cassefin's anatomy.

Cassefin, as if it weren't a surprise, seemed to not even acknowledge the change. She simply stood in a dramatic pose, hand on her hips and chin high, smiling proudly at the rest of her guests. The Head Administrator took a moment to wave up at the first floor of the crew quarters (at the guard captain, no doubt, who saluted back from across the room), and then turned back around to explain the situation.

---

"Alright folks," she said with a sly smile. "George explained the rules quite clearly earlier, but I'll repeat them for those of you who just can't remember. The Blue team will walk across to the opposite end of this arena, and after both sides are ready, I'll sound a bell and begin the match. Your weapons will be modified version of the CSS Variable Weapon...hopefully you are all familiar with them by now. You may utilize any tactics you can come up with, but try and keep it clean."

A series of racks were then wheeled in by a handful of Freespacer Automata. Administrator Peke Twenty-Two was leading the pack, riding atop her self-installed child's carseat on the large, hulking Automata's back. "Goat" (as Peke called him) gave a short wave at almost the same instant Peke did, but unfortunately they had little time to chat. The racks contained their Stainball weapons...which looked almost exactly like their old CSS Variable Weapons, save for small tweaks here and there and a new color scheme to signify their team color.

"If you are hit with a splotch of opposing color paint larger than...oh, an inch and a half in diameter," Cassefin continued as she shooed Peke Twenty-Two out. "...then you're out. Those who are out need only return to their starting areas with their arms and weapons raised, to avoid being hit further. Don't cheat, because I'll know."

Cassefin tossed her discarded dress to the side, sauntered over to the rack (with a hefty amount of jiggle, no less) picked up a red Stainball gun and stood, awaiting the others to assume their positions. "And have fun with it, sheesh. At least smile. I know you Blue Teamers know you have no chance, but you might get them out," Cassefin motioned to Lorcan, Lenny, George and Serra. "If you try hard enough. Heh."

Deacon's own wry smile did not leave his lips, creepy to say the very least. The Kohanian watched all of the proceedings from his crouched position and when the Administrator came out of her changing room, augmented no less, he looked around to gauge his team's reaction.

When the racks were wheeled out, the hyena stood without a word, walking to the blue rack and taking up his weapon. He returned to the exact spot he had been standing on previously, and knelt down. Not in the crouch, but actually knelt on the ground, the weapon before him.

Taking a deep breath, he began to mumble something in his native language, repeating it in the language of the Nepleslians.

"Spirits of the Winds, I ask you to grant me your swiftness. Spirits of the Flame, I ask you to grant me your insight. Spirits of the Earth, I ask you to grant me your steadfast nature. Spirits of the Water, I ask you to grant me your agility. For in all things, the Spirits see all and govern all. With your blessing, I shall vanquish our common enemy, those who stand against your will this day."

With his prayer ended, the Kohanian nodded, lifted his weapon, and just went back to crouching, eyes narrowed as he stared across at the red team, totally serious now.

She didn't get it.

Not Stainball. She got that perfectly. And the need for Cassefin's team to be outnumbered. That was clear as day.

No, she really didn't get it.

What was with the torpedo bays on the Admin's chest?

Outwardly, Keziah only raised an eyebrow. Not that there was much else to do, since every other reaction would probably get her reassigned way too quickly for her own good. She walked to the racks, giving Peke and Goat a small wave before they were completely ushered out, and took one of the blue rifles. And paused, her eyes sweeping around the racks, the newly built area, and settling on Cassefin.

"Ma'am," she said, resting her rifle on her shoulder as she turned to Cassefin. "Where's our Stainball suits?"

Serra stared, she stared silently as Cassifin did her song and dance with her Stainball uniform and her Very unique physical upgrade. In fact, if Serra was a betting woman, she was donning such a combination to steal a look from the Guard Captain. When Cassifin mentioned "them" and waved in her general direction, the Elysian perked a brow and cleared her throat slightly.

Ah. Bigger targets.

It was nearly all Tweak could do to keep from grinning as Cassifin unveiled her competition suit and its...er..."special properties". Although Tweak could understand that, if Stainball had as bruising an effect as its reputation seemed to claim, an air pocket or other padding would be desired in that area. But even so, that was a tad much...

Glancing around, she lined up to receive her weapon for the match. It was a simple enough firearm...Tweak hadn't used (or seen) her assigned CSS rifle that day, so she didn't recognize this as being its derivative, but it was easily understood all the same. She checked and double-checked the ammunition and barrel, then held it at rest with the barrel pointed to the floor. After a moment's thought, she took a second rifle and returned to Dream's side, holding it out to the druidess.

"Ano...I, um, got yours for you," said the neko in a tentative way. Dream seemed very distracted today..."Is there something wrong?"

Cassefin stared back quizzically at Keziah and her request to the location of their own Stainball uniforms. "...you're wearing it?" The Head Administrator replied, almost sarcastically with her enunciation. "I did tell you all to dress casually, after all. Now off with you, shoo, shoo, to the other side of the room."

George immediately slipped over to the Red team weapon racks and grabbed two of the rifles, tossing the second to Lenny as he returned. George was all sly smiles and conniving laughs after that. Lenny, on the other hand, was simply all smiles.

"Ahhh... no." Claire had folded her arms.

"Ma'am, with all due respect... I'm not playing in what I'm wearing. Like I said, I've only just arrived and the only other set of clothing I've got is not what you would wear to dinner. I'm not asking that you put anything on hold, but at least allow me to run over and change into it. I'm pretty sure I'd be commiting several violations by getting my uniform ruined by this game. I'll try to hurry as fast as I can." Claire wasn't sure if this was what the administrator had intended or not, but she wasn't going to play until she got into something that she could afford to get a little messy.

If not for that little bit, she probably would have been laughing hysterically at Cassefin's change of wardrobe and physique. Good thing this had distracted her, no? Of course, as such, she didn't grab a weapon yet either.

"...Uh... Administrator... I only have one suit..." the tall Id-Sol said, slowly. "...Am I presuming you want me to ruin it for the same of this game?" He sounded less than pleased, but he did only have this suit, and it wasn't cheap to get a suit to fit an Id-Sol, unless you were Special Forces.

He grabbed a rifle from the rack, checked the ammunition and practiced looking down the sight. Damnit, these are real rifles loaded with balls of paint. These'll sting a lot... At this moment, he finally noticed Cassefin's greatly enhanced boobage. ...Looks like I won't be aiming for the arm, two new targets at 12 o'clock...

He started taking off his suit, afraid of ruining it, folding the jacket and shirt up and placing them in a nearby nook, close to the ground so they'd hopefully avoid getting ruined. The air was brisk, so he left it there and settled down to getting used to the feel of the rifle, glad he was wearing a T-Shirt under his white sleeved one.

I just hope I don't get nailed too hard...

Serra's eyes narrowed at Cassifin, seeing how she intends for the group to wage paint related war on each other WHILE wearing their best clothes. "Administrator, I also must protest. What I'm wearing was a gift from my family."

Moving slowly, Keziah replaced her rifle on the rack and stepped away.

Recreation was one thing. Dinner and then a game of stainball was already getting close to vicious, and it would actually have been if she had eaten anything.

But she was a civilian. Cassefin, probably both, didn't realize and didn't care about what any of them thought, especially ones like Keziah who had worn their dress uniforms. It wasn't even up for negotiation.

"I'm also protesting, ma'am. I'm not ruining my uniform for this."

"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!" Cassefin began stomping madly, her newly acquired assets bouncing fervently with each stamp as the complaints came pouring in. Couldn't they just learn to enjoy the moment? "Jeez Louis, can't you people ever stop complaining!? FINE! FIIIIINE!"

The Head Administrator grumbled and brought up another volumetric screen before her, then set about tapping away madly at the keypad. After a moment or two, a few walls formed up from the nano-floor, similar to how they did just minutes ago for Cassefin herself. Before long, there were separate boxes for each participant of the game, save for Cassefin herself. Inside each small room was a suit similar to Cassefin's, save for the Blue Team members, which sported a tasteful blue colored pattern replacing the bright, fiery red of Red Team.

"There," Cassefin sighed heavily, pointing at the individual changing rooms. "Get in, put on the uniforms I have so graciously tailored for you, and then get ready. We don't have time to be running around all willy-nilly waiting for you."

Claire bit her tongue to minimize the noise of her laughter. "Please don't be mad, ma'am. We just don't want you to get in trouble for getting our uniforms ruined. Besides which, look at this way; Would you have liked it if we shot paint at you while you were still wearing your dress?" As she said this she approached the suit that Cassefin had provided them. Perhaps to the amusement of some (and perhaps the embarassment to a couple) she had already taken her uniform top off a couple steps before she entered the changing room, showing the results of her keeping in shape.

There was a bit of laughter from within the changing room before Claire stepped back outside. Apparently the rather yamataiesque uniforms amused her. She had her marine uniform draped over one arm. "Thank you, dear. I'll be sure to put up a fight for you." Claire walked over and set her uniform off to the side and grabbed a blue team rifle as well. She glanced backwards to see how the rest of the team was doing. "Enjoy the view while you can, boys. You probably won't get to see me wearing something like this again."

Without another word, Stovaa took off his t-shirt, trousers and shoes, buried them in the nook and wandered into a cubicle to put on the blue fatigues Cassefin had eventually provided him with. It felt a bit snug, hugging every facet of his musclular torso and arms. He emerged from the small "room" checking himself over.

"Not a bad fit, Miss Administrator. Bit tight around the arms and chest, though..." he mused aloud, having reassured himself it wouldn't split on him. He picked up his rifle and wolf-whistled at Claire as she emerged in her outfit.

"Lookin' sharp, Claire. I almost feel bad that I'll be too busy looking for the red targets to look at you" he said with a grin.

(Gah, I feel worn down from NaNoWriMo. )

Before she could lose control and laugh at Cassefin's incredibly childish outburst, she slipped into the room that had formed for them and started to dress. The suit reminded her of their undersuits for their armors, which made it easy to get into. The snug, tight fit she really didn't mind, adjusting it and pulling at the fabric as she stepped out of the change room, barely aware of everyone else until she heard Stovaa's whistle, and heard what he said to Claire.

And the look she gave him could've destroyed stars.

Still carrying her uniform in a neat bundle, she stared at him for several seconds of eternity, before breaking it and walking off to the side, putting her uniform down next to Claire's.

"Lucky we're on the same team," she muttered, slipping her goggles up on top of her head, leaving them sitting there for the time being.

Isaac stood there for a moment, hearing the protest of the fellow staff members as they all did not want to get their uniforms and dresses painted up. He never really cared about getting his uniform painted, couldn't he just wash it afterwords? He casually walked toward the container of the stainball uniforms and knelled down to scavenge through them to find the goggles. Ah, a perfect fit, as soon as he adjusted the bands that sunk into the head.

Quickly and quietly, Isaac jumped out of his suit, slipping of the stretchy material and unclasping a few buckles that held the suit together. He folded it up into a box like shape and set it down beside one of the real walls. He didn't want his suit ruined.

Isaac removed his helmet to reveal his strong chinned face and his hazel eyes that seemed to drift from side to side of the room, inspecting everything. He was dressed in a green tank top and the standard khaki cargo pants, along with his black polished boots. Slipping on the goggles he brushed aside the hair that had trapped its self in the goggle's eye pieces.

He rushed over to the gun racks brought by the Freespacer Automatas. He looked around at the blue colored weapons that hanged on the racks. Isaac reached his hands out for a rifle, but he spotted a pistol. Being more familiar with those types of weapons, he grabbed it instead, it reminded him of his Rocket Pistol. Eying the weapon he retreated back to where the Blue Team was placed, ready to... well.. fail, most likely.

Jen smiled while removing her helmet, she then said, "I won't need this, but I don't mind keepin' my suit. It needs to be broken in." She replaced her CSS rifle with one of the paint ball variety, as well put up her side arm, Probably not goin' to need this, she thought.

After nabbing some goggles, she then began to head to the blue starting area while analyzing the terrain. If the H.A. think she is as good as she is, I'm goin' to need to use this artificial terrain to my advantage somehow.

She stood next to a fellow she party recognized as part of the squad she was on, and placed her left hand on Isaac's left shoulder, while having a serious look on her face and said, "Hey, we gotta show up these guys our skills. So don't go getting nervous alright?"

For Jen this was one of the few times she would ever see some real action, or at least show the H.A. that she would be better used than patrolling halls of white coats.

" I'm not." He stated as she put her hand on his shoulder, he wasn't nervous in the least bit, maybe doubtful of his combat skills, but not nervous. Isaac was an engineer, not a marine like the others in the area. Shifting his neck and neck to a horizontal position and loud cracking sound came from his neck. He shrugged off her arm and nodded at her, letting her know, he wouldn't freak out.

Isaac thought to himself about the woman whom had came up to him in that time. She looked familiar.. Jen.. or something. Isaac didn't learn the names of his squad members. Independent till the last," Don't get cocky," he replied in a smooth tone and offering a half smile to her.

The male Kohanian laughed at all the protesting and whining going on around him, standing up and walking towards the blue starting area before the changing rooms even were an option. He did not need a suit to help him fit in. Any marks he recieved he would wear with honor. Like battle wounds in a conflict.

Getting to the starting area, he knelt down again, slowly scanning the surroundings with narrowed yellow eyes, taking it all in, every little detail. This was not natural ground, the cover was artificial...and seemed to bend to the will of the Administrator, something he was not pleased with, but would work around.

He had not seen the pistols that one of the other members of his team had taken up, only the assault rifle designs. Deacon would have preferred to carry two one handed weapons rather than a single weapon that required both his hands, but he would make due. Now that he was at his base, he took off the one item that meant the most ot him, and was not sure if it would be fair to keep it on his back, his sword. Slipping the scabbard from the shoulderstrap, Deacon quickly began to remake the strap into a sort of holster on his back for the rifle, and then when it was firmly pressed to his back so he would not lose it while moving, yet was easy to grasp and pull to bare on someone, he nodded and waited for the game to start, small stub of a tail actually starting to wag.
