Approved Character GLM-1974ZSDB "David"

Wow. Quite overboard on the history. Way too special. Why would these robots have been made if there are nekovalkyrja? That aside, I think the character is good.

Please don't abuse the history part of your character's bio by using it to engineer your character's skills. What I mean by this is I don't want characters coming into the RP with years of intense training as an assassin or with scars from an RPed-out battle that you weren't around for.

I've read the CCG, but I don't remember that part, which is odd because it's what Zack and I complain about. You've set your character up as an efficient killing machine, which you may or may not be able to accurately RP.

Since I don't know if you cleared up the stuff about the Pleasure Bot Company, robot model, and all that before now, so I won't say anything else about that. It'd be easily explained anyway, I think. However, I would suggest doing away with the "killing all his brothers" part. That's the sort of significant event which should be RPed out. If you just set him up to roam around finding out the meaning of being human, I think you'd have good social RP, and you might get action if you have him find out about his brothers later and start on killing them. I don't know what kind of setting you'd have to be in for the latter, though.

Really, I think it's an interesting character, just a bit too detailed. You likely won't have to make drastic changes to get your character approved, but it would make me happy. Have fun, whatever you do.

Word to your requests, brother.
I redid him up a little.

And what's to clear up about the pleasure bot company? If anything really needs doing about that just say the word and it's done! Try to make my entrance here as smooth as a fine cigar.

David is no longer a terminator, but I kept the weapons there. He decidedly less violent and capable. But by simply being a robot with some history, he must have a few preprogrammed self-defense skills, and a few learned on the job. He's no war vet or scarred captain...but he knows his way around his weaponry.

Abuse is something David is kind of used to...but I don't know how the admin can abuse. Unfortunately that's David's lot...but if it should be gone I can get rid of it. i guess I am just asking if it's that serious of a problem, I kind of liked David's sexual duality: He enjoys it...but thats all people think of him ask once they know he's a bot and he hates that.

That's really imporant to the character. And makes it quirky and new.

Although it does remind me greatly of a combination of different characters and plots from the film A.I.

I think the character is decent, if overly complicated. I do like robots though (which is why I made a range), so it has my vote.

And Wes abusing the crap out of it is what will be fun.

Actually, you are partly correct!
Take a little of Giggolo Joe (My nickname for a stint...loved it), a little of the android from Eric Idle's book "The Road to Mars", and a little dash of Vash the Stampede...and you get David.

I am glad you like him.
Now I just have to fit him into the storyline somewhere!
^_^
Any suggestions, mates?

Well the Destiny is the plot that he would be in if he was going to be in a plot, or the Kiroshi. Actualy the Kiroshi would be fun. There's is even a female main character.

Or of course you could simply have him in the General Roleplay forum.

I think I'll go look at the Kiroshi, based of your comments.
If I feel too n00bish, I may kick it in the general.

Wes or Yangfan can approve all characters. I also have the power to approve characters, but only Fenyaro.

Wes is away at army training and Yangfan lives on the West coast.

If you really want him to approve it why not send him a PM politely asking him to look it over.

Joe, first things first. Please post you contact info here:
https://stararmy.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/v ... .php?t=106

I was tempted to make you remove a skill, (an untrained char gets 4 and a trained char gets 7), but I'll be nice and give you two more skills: Communications and Mathematics. It makes sense for a robot to have those skills. "David" have both skills at fairly basic levels, as I assume his programming are directed at other areas.

Before I approve your character, I have a caveat for you: There are only two female players here in the RP. The vast majority of female chars are RPed by guys. And as Tyler said, some people will, um, go after you, if only to see how you'd react. If you still want to play a "male" pleasure bot, let me know. Alternatively, just make him a regular servant robot.

No worries, mate!

As for the pleasure bot, that's mostly just his honest to god title. I'm not looking to make it with any of the characters here really, that's no why I gave him that title. It's actually objectifying him for the purpose of my writing as him. People look at him as a toy or a tool, just a pleasure bot, and he tries to outlive that.

As for the skills, I can drop them no worries if you want...and David can evolve even more. I wanted a bot that wasn't one and not the other. Not a killer, and not a servant but both with mind for being intellectual. Kinda takes out the C-3PO and the Terminator, and makes more of a kinda hearted HK-47.

All right. Add the last two skills that I gave you to the bio and I will approve it.

And keep things PG-13, please. This is a family show...

Character approved! I believe you are already in contact with one of the GMs and is joining her plot arc. Welcome to the RP, good luck, and happy role-playing. :) Let me know if you need anything.

It's not quite a "family-safe" site, which is why the age requirement is 16 here. Adult stuff is okay (and healthy) in small quantities, so if you want to detail some of the robot's more erotic functions, just be sure to put an [Adult] label in the topic title.

The only real problem I have is with the part the bio says the robot's skin would make it look human on an x-ray. That wouldn't work, because X-ray scans work because the rays go through the object and then picked up on the other side.

Theoreticly then he could be made of dense but strong material, some form of crematic perhaps, which has a lower density than bone. Then his internal functions are structured in the same shape as a humans ones, and denser material is put over untill an X-ray will reveal nothing unusual.

Work?

Even if the bot is made out of metal on the insides, as long as that is shaped like a human skeleton and his internal components are organic or at least close to it (nanomachines masquerading as organs perhaps?). Then a typical X-ray scan should make it look like he is human.

The added weapons would stand out though.
