Gravimetric Drives

I just don't know man. Looking at the CFS article, there's very little to do with gravity in there at all. I can't see how they're closely related like Nash suggests.

Cadet, gravimetric, not graviton. metric implies a potential difference generating system. You read it wrongly. As for the CFS, he probably means that while space is folded, the ship "falls" from one warp bubble to the next by the potential difference between the two. Folding space itself does nothing if the ship does not move from one fold to another.

So basically
"A 'Gravimetric Drive' is essentially a fancy way of saying Graviton Drives, right?"

No. Besides, the notation states that it is going to be phased out, so why bother with all the editing? It's going to be banned from use soon anyway.

Guard dog, the problem is not technical, it is that stories have probably been written that involve a high closing speed from the outer part of star systems to targets in the inner system and vice versa. If the physics change, you'll need to retcon a lot of things.

In the original Mindy Power Armor is spoke of the CFS being used to allow the armor to walk on any surface and disregard gravity. But it is no longer there.

Bottom line, just right up how you want your version of the Graviton Engine to work for your Armor.

Even if a Graviton Drive is not the same as a Gravimetric Drive, knowing what it is and how it works would still be helpful, since the Aggressor uses the latter. Right now, I'm just left rather confused from all this.

If it helps, just call it an anti-gravity drive. No gravity, no anti-. Think repulsor like you mentioned earlier.

Or maybe "reverse gravity drive" for a more simple concept understanding.

To be honest, I think leaving something like this somewhat bare-bones is a better option because everyone has their own opinions on how such a piece of technology would work - this is none-more-so than factions whom might have developed a different method of designing said tech along with how it functions.

If you want, I can give you my take on the Neshaten's anti-grav, and Graviton drive-codes that I am using.

I can understand that, but the problem is, I'm still left trying to figure out how Nepleslia's interpretation of it worked. Without a cohesive, solid main article, I gotta comb the wiki and hope to luck out, and failing that, go through the forums. Which, can be a headache.

I think there is a way to make a collaborative stab at something technical but if it involves going back on facts already written very clearly into RP then perhaps that is indeed the larger problem and the easiest solution would be to shrug it off. But I don't believe that the most easy solution is always the best one for the reason that is always possible to contentiously improve and adapt.

Who is to say you can't just make a ship and system that goes normal speeds for craft with their conceptual propulsion.

Does it really conflict with the past so much as simply subtly induce change, any notion is at least worth looking at.

You could always precise NAM's take on said technology without making it a blanket statement for the whole setting. This gives the wanted for degree of detail without burying the interpretations of other people at the same time.
