A bright smile filled the face of Alastair. "It is more complicated than that but yes, in some ways I have changed." A grin then crossed his face. "For the better I hope, though some may say the Koun is nothing but a mess of chaos." He then chuckled and took another sip of his drink. From the outside it may seem as if the Koun was in utter chaos but that was by design. For a crew trained to follow the rules, it would seem odd to see a crew trained to get results. It was a minor difference but at the end of the day the Koun was sent on missions to get results.
Alastair leaned back and listened to Asuka share her story. He was enjoying his time with her and believed this was a much needed talk she had been wanting to have with someone. Though this then raised the question, why him. As he was taking another sip he almost spit his drink out when she brought up bedroom time. He coughed a few times then spoke. "Have to forgive me, the behind closed doors details I was never privy too." He cleared his throat and took another sip. He lowered his drink, his smile turning more into a frown. "I am sorry to hear you two are no longer an item." Once more his smile returned. "I believe you would make a fine captain. You have wisdom to know that there is no right or wrong way, just the one that fits the moment." It pleased him to know that in someway, he had helped to shape her outlook. All he ever wanted was to see those around him grow into something bigger.
His ears then perked up at the suggestion the crew walk all over him. "Oh, ho ho, I believe your information is ill-informed. That is a rumor the crew likes to spread around." He said as he took a long sip of his drink. "Honestly, I am torn what to do about it. On the one hand, it does great to recruit the young hot shots. However, once on board they come to find out just how tight a shift I run." He had tipped his head to one side as she slapped on his shoulders. Maybe the ice had finally broken between them. "Though the punishments are far more inline with what one would expect. Time in the galley cooking food, cleaning the floors and so forth. Nothing as over the top as in my prior years."
He then reached forward and gave her a light pat on the head. "I can see while we have been apart, you still worry for those who have been in your life. You are far more than this universe deserves. It is in moments like this that I come to find myself missing the times before." He then retracted his hand from her head. "Who knows, maybe one day you will find yourself on the Koun. I am always in need of more kind souls. Prefer the ones who don't try and step on me. I have many kinks but this one still eludes me." He tried to keep a straight face but couldn't help but laugh. He then tipped his head to one side. "So was it only out of concern you contacted me or is there more taking place?" He asked in a low soft concerned voice.
